You harvested the lemon grass perfectly. You don't have to peel the stalk. I just take a little bit off if it looks brown/dry, otherwise I just use the whole stalk as is, no peeling. You can use the stalk whole or cut to desired lengths as it fits in your pot or bottle.
O yay! Thanks for letting me know. Ok thank you very much. I really appreciate it the information.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with your sponsored content. There have been items I hadn't even thought of until seeing your "sponsored" content. Keep it up, Asia!! We appreciate it!!
I think it’s fantastic you’re getting sponsorships! I’m so glad you’re getting to do things you enjoy! ❤
Hey Asia! There is no need to apologize, none! Keep doing your sponsors, and I always try and watch the majority of the ads in your channel. I understand how they benefit content creators.
As always, thanks for sharing!😊
I agree. I don't mind sponsored content as long as folks are open and honest about it.
Keep doing what you’re doing. Your channel is my favorite and I enjoy supporting you as best I can.
Rosemary is one of my favs!!
Hi Asia❤ I got some nice bottles from Dollar Tree with the flip top for my tinctures. Great video, Sis. Have a blessed day ❤️😊💚
Love the new intro!
I hope you get more sponsorships! 🙌🏾🙏🏾 I appreciate you sharing your experience and perspective. There are so many things we use in and for the garden and for this whole lifestyle really, and now more than ever we need to make sure we’re spending our money right so need honest opinions from a real urban gardener.
I love the sponsored content! It always helps me decide which products will work with the flow of my homestead. Exciting to see you getting closer to 40k 🎉🎉
…by the way, all that grass you’re about to get rid of, I actually boil up some water let steep some grass with fresh grated ginger or tumeric and honey immune boosting
Unh-unh…. Let’s start charging that cat a garden tour fee 💵💰🤑 😂😂😂 love your channel and learning with you, keep it up! ❤
Rosemary, i read should be completely dry or mold and bacterial can grow. Also if not dried can have excessive water .
You can also cut the leaves tops. The leaves grow from the center.
Nice as always!
The lemongrass leaves are dried and used for tea for fever and colds.
I really enjoy your content and I learn something new every time!!. I saw information about medicinal herbs that are native to the South East-over on Legacy Wilderness Academy-FYI. I will be looking forward to the next video😊
You can also root rosemary in water. I brought some cut rosemary and root it in water.
I look forward to your sponsored video this weekend. I too struggle to use the amazing herbs I grow!
Thanks ❤
I just love watching your channel! You make it look so easy!
Yes, you can cut off the top of the lemongrass, I do, wash, dry and use it for tea, delicious.
The blades of the lemongrass can be cleaned and used for a broth seasoning or boiled for tea to drink hot or cold.
Excited to harvest some of my herbs. Great inspiration. Abundance to you
Ok thank you so much! I appreciate the information.
Happy harvesting! Thank you!
Yes. Take a bunch of leaves, tie it in a loose knot and place it in a pot of water to boil. I enjoy mine sweetened with condensed milk .
I live in the Caribbean and we use the lemon grass leaves in tea, you can use the whole plant .... Love your videos ❤
Thanks for sharing your herb journey. I have a few books but never used my herbs either. Maybe next season I can follow your lead.
I trim and dry lemongrass throughout the growing season. I usually don't harvest the root until the very end of the season and or as needed. It's actually a cut and come again plant.
I don’t know anything about lemon grass, but my son uses it in cooking. He used it in a stir fry. The stalk was still green and he just sliced the stalk up crosswise in little pieces. You couldn’t eat it because it was too hard, but it added a really good lemon flavor. I don’t think he had a recipe, but he had a college roommate who was from Singapore, who taught him a lot of oriental cooking. Hope this helps. Even if it’s not used medicinally, it’s still a good way to use what you have.
I LURVVVVV your sponsored content and I love being on this journey with you ❤
I have some rosemary growing in my bed and I wasn't sure if I should plant it in a pot and try to bring it in during the winter. I love this!! Learning about the herbs and how they can be used to help us. I love all the sponsored content that you have included with your videos. I think they are cool because I am introduced to cool new products. Also so excited to be on this journey of learning with you. Keep the vids coming and can't wait for Saturdays video.
I made mullein tincture. The directions I followed said to use one of those glass pucks (like they use in fermenting food) to keep the green mullein under the alcohol to avoid mold growth. I’m new at this too! So much to learn!
You sponsor that content!
I've just seen some of those wasps out, as well. I call them "ground wasps" because I think they make their nests in the ground. They are small and do look like bees, but they are carnivores. I know because I have seen them eating some of my outdoor cat's canned food. I've also seen them--just today, in fact, killing some of the Giant Swallowtail caterpillars on my citrus trees. Those are cool, btw, because they look like bird poop, but they are actually caterpillars. Anyway, I felt bad, but I figured that it's Nature's way of keeping the population in check and keeping the caterpillars from decimating my citrus trees.
I wonder if they're what we call meat bees here in Far Northern California. They will bite on humans too, also sting.
Thanks so much for sharing. I am very interested and hope to also begin my journey with medicinal herbs and when you read the medicinal properties of rosemary, it sounded like the perfect tincture for me to start with. I do have small jars and may just barely have enough rosemary to get started with. 😊
Yellow jackets, you see them close to the ground. They have a golden color
Could be ground bees!
Think about getting a net to capture the cabbage moths. I ordered one from Amazon!
Yes, you can cut back lemongrass although don't cut more then 1/3 of the plant
I just adore your garden 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️❤️❤️
Keep the sponsored content coming, get yo money. People who rock with you don't mind.
🏡🌻
I'm here for it.
Hello Asia! Awesome garden herb video, making your rosemary tincture, reference books, and more!💖
Blessings to you and your family!🌹 🦋10/10/2024🦋
I need to get better about harvesting my herbs. I grow a lot and just pick enough for cooking. But I feel like I could be using them for more things. Let us know how you like that book!
Hi Asia, hoping that you are well. You inspired me to grow Marshmellow...I winter sowed it and it did wonderfully. It is a perenniaI in my region so I will harvest the roots next year with the hope that the roots will be larger. I grew lemon grass, dehydrated the leaves and made tea. It was delicious. You have inpired me to try a rosemary tincture! Lastly, I was channeling Asia vibes when I dug up plants and relocated them : ) Here's to continued growth for your channel. Almost at 40K.....🎉
Love your garden!! Sure hope my backyard looks like yours one of these days soon!
Thank you! I’m sure it will! 🤗
You can cut and dry the leaves for tea & I love to freeze the stalks for later use
Watched on TV; coming back to comment. Enjoyed the video. I was looking at you and your lemongrass like hmmmm. I have lemongrass this year for the first time, and I clearly don't know how to harvest it. 😁😂🤣
Great demonstration 😊
For the lemongrass you can cut the leaves. They will grow back. Also use the leaves with some lemon balm to make a really good tea mix.
Ok awesome! Thank you! I appreciate the information!
In The Bahamas (and some other Caribbean countries), we call this fever grass. It’s a bush medicine with a ton of health benefits, including fighting off cold/flu/fever. You can cut the leaves and boil them. Sweeten with condensed milk. It’s delicious!😋
Love your videos!! 😊
Awww thank you! 🤗
I’m really looking forward to learning about herbs and homeopathic remedies with you. This is a very interesting subject and useful. I have 3 of the books you mentioned. 😊
Hi Asia, The little “bees” you’re observing may actually be hover flies. They do look like wasps & will eat some insects on your plants. Just a thought. Happy gardening
Hi 👋🏾! Ok thank you! I have seen them a lot but I’m not sure what they are. I’ll look up hover flies.
If you want to know about lemongrass I would check chinese medicine books
Ok thank you! I’ll look into that!
I use the rosemary boiled with pineapple shaving to make a very refreshing tea.
I bet that is delicious definitely trying that thx
O that sounds really good! Thank you for the comment. I’ll have to try it!
I am the worst at not harvesting my herbs 🤣🌱
I’m trying to grow my own apothecary; I need more discipline 🤨
Thought I'd pop-up and see how.

Hey this not me it’s my momma yelling at me from inside my head,… please put a towel under the salad spinner on that glass table. Also a wet towel underneath your cutting board will stop it from sliding around.
Also have you checked your local library for seeds and books now perfect time use the local library for good resource
Thank you for the suggestion. I like to write and highlight. That’s a great idea though.
great video love herbs
Thank you! I’m growing to love them too!
Gardening w/ Michael Myers 😱
My son gave me this shirt when he outgrew it and I pretty much will wear anything 🤣🤣
@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead Awesome! 10/31 🎃
I’ll support you no matter what, commercials are necessary part of the business, we get it. The saltiness likely comes from those who pay for YT and simply don’t understand, forgive them. 😉
You called it Lemon balm and grass. You have grass not balm. I have tons of balm. They're growing differently
❤❤❤
I have that book too 🤓
Awesome sauce! Which one??
Asia, sponser content is fine with me. Do you.❤
Awww thank you! I appreciate that! 💜
Love what you’re doing. I have two rabbits (Buck & Doe) if you want them. Free99
I’m so intrigued right now lol. I’ll let you know. I have to figure out housing.
Hi my RUclips sistar. I love your channel. And please don't apologize. Do what you need to do.. I'll support! ❤
Hi 👋🏾! Awww thank you very much! I appreciate the support more than you know!
People will whine about anything get your sponsorships!!!
You are so inspiring me to continue on my journey towards an apothecary. I haven’t been the best at harvesting my herbs either but this past summer I’ve been better.
Good evening did you put vinegar or vodka in the rosemary I missed that part 😊
Good Evening! It was vodka.
@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead thank you
Hello Asia or good morning
Hi 👋🏾!
Hi beautiful, I love your channel! I love how you show everything the good, bad, and sometimes not-so-pretty. I would like to suggest one thing put parchment paper on your jars that have alcohol, so it won't corrode the caps. I’m learning about herbal remedies as well. I also don't have an issue with you getting sponsorship. I will be watching all the commercials as well to help you. Enjoy your journey of it all!💐✌🏽
Hey could you in the future link to sources for your seeds and plants? Thanks!
