  • Twining is a weaving technique used often to keep or build structure in weaving. You can also use this technique to add color and texture to your project.
    Twining is created by wrapping a yarn around the „X“ of the weft and warp. Twining is also the basis of scalloping.
    A full written twining tutorial on twining can be found on this blog post : fibersanddesign.com/twining-we...

    A stroke damaged the part of my brain that deals with processes and problem solving -- until I found your tutorial trying to twine was incredibly frustrating. NOW, thanks to you I can easily get through the two lines of twining I need at the beginning and end of a tapestry-- and I will now be able to use it within the body of the tapestry. A very good tool for the box. Thanks again.

    Great tutorial, I just had a problem with the music in the background. Because it was repetitively repeating the same line of words over and over was overwhelming and made my head hurt. I couldn't turn it down because I wouldn't have known what you where saying. I suffer from severe migraines and it makes me very sensitive to flickering lights and sound especially repetative sounds.

    what do you do with the weft light color yarn end that you started off with and is hanging on right?

  • @philipwheeler7317
    @philipwheeler7317 Год назад

    Could you twin both the warp and the weft. A cross twining if you will? Can you double, triple, etc twining on either? Just curious what the results would be. Both strength and aesthetically.
