- Tom Hardy & Charlize Theron's Fury Road Feud EXPLAINED..
Welcome back to Show In Motion. Charlize Theron Struggled While Shooting Mad Max: Fury Road. By all accounts, including her own, Theron struggled with Fury Road even before her beef with co-star Hardy. This was partially due to her less embodied style of acting clashing with Hardy's process but was also affected by external circumstances. For example, the actor had, according to Miller, “this aversion to dust,” an issue often exacerbated by the movie shooting in the Namibian desert and frequently encountering sandstorms.
Furiosa’s Plot Mirrors The Original Mad Max. Since Charlize Theron’s Furiosa was only two years older than Tom Hardy’s Mad Max in Fury Road (judging by the actor’s real-life ages), it stands to reason that Furiosa will be in her early twenties during the story of Furiosa. This, along with what viewers know about the prequel’s premise, proves the prequel will mirror some elements of Mad Max's plot.

45 seconds in and you’ve managed to say nothing.
Their chemistry was undeniable though.
One of my favourite movies ♥️
Honestly! Truly a testament to both of their skills as actors because watching the movie without knowing backstory, I would’ve never believed they had so many issues
I used to be a festival worker in the desert, and yes, people do go crazy from time to time. It's hot as hell in the morning, physical labor is 10 times harder, you shit in the portal potty, everything is dusty and dirty, the night shower is cold as ice. It's truly uncharted area
Totally understand their feud, and I blame the hot weather for it to be honest. I get so short tempered when the temperature rises so high up to the point where anything pisses me off so much afterwards. That along with the combination of feeling heat sluggish is the worst. Fun fact, heat raises blood pressure and cortisol levels aka the stress hormones.
she's a fucking actress for fuck sakes hahaha
Agreed and even beyond that, the set appears to be VERY daunting and challenging. The heat, the dust, the heavy machinery and the stunts could not have been easy to manage for anyone.
Not to mention the poor bastard was in black leather from head to toe in the middle of the dessert. That's borderline torture.
Actually the actors complained about the cold!!!! Saw a documentary on the making of Fury road!!!!!:/
@@sgt_slobber.7628 Exactly. Anyone who has spent time in a desert during the winter can tell you how cold it can get. On top of that Namibia is on the west coast of Africa in the southern hemisphere. That means currents are bringing water and air from Antarctica up to them.
So it would seem to me that the tension, the feuding and the mistrust that their respective characters shared in the beginning spilled onto the actors themselves. So interesting how Charlize and Tom became more amicable at the same time their characters hit a turning point in the film. Art truly imitating life lol
Bet they're wishing they just put up with Tom Hardy's method acting and brought him back to do a sequel.
He also picked up a fight with the director, yelled at him, and was always late to the set.
Basically fought over work ethic & style
Is it me or is the narration AI generated?
It 100% is
This shows how hardworking these people😊
Making people wait in the hot desert for you I wouldn’t like Tom hardy either
She could've at least asked why he's late not just go full psycho
Saying that Hardy even came close to "damaging" the premise of Max's character is a gross miscalculation especially when you take into account this story was not about Max as the lead. This was meant as both a new telling of Max and a nod to those who already know his story, while having Charlize as the lead. Plus, people nowadays seem to forget that reboots, re-quels, sequels, etc, mostly give ways to new avenues of storyline and storytelling so odds are the story and characters are going to be different. Won't hurt the originals.
Masterpiece.
It's a perfect movie the added details made the greatest chase movie ever.
I love tom hardy as an actor, but image how much of a dick he was on the dark knight 😂
Rlthat must've been a huge pain in the ass to film.Yourbout in the hot desert all day in make up and crazy clothes has to suck. Not to mention doing these insane stunts.
Such a good movie. Hope they make "The wasteland" together
No wonder it was more of Furiousa's film than Mad Max's. He was always late on set so the director started to give him less scenes lol.
It’s clear George Miller picked a side in this feud (to no one’s surprise; I would’ve made the same decision lol)
I didn't mind that film its alright, I wouldn't say it's desecrated the originals or anything I actually thought it was not bad at all, some parts was a little naff in areas but it was alright otherwise I thought.
If they had a beef the hid it well because it was a good film. But in every workplace, coworkers may not like each other but get the job done.
So basically On set had no personal trailers for the diva's so they start calling the method actors names causing method actors to go into split personality bursts of outrage.
I wonder how much tetanus will be in the future...
Their tension worked beautifully on the screen, so all the misery shooting it was rewarded.
Tom hardy's "Max" wasn't the old Max (mel Gibson) . He was the feral child with the boomerang in Mad Max 1 !!
George Miller debunked that theory in an interview
Was Hardy upset that Charlize basically stole the 🎬 from him.
I would say the performances were even. And actually gave the film great balance.
@lisaroberts8556 Well been a fan of the first trilogy & been that they were about Max's journey & this 🎬 not so much. I find that Hardy lacked the screen presence that Gibson bought to the original trilogy. Now having said that I luv the energy that Charlize bought to her role & I thought her performance outshined Hardy in his portrayal of Max.
Sounds like they fancied the pants off each other
Isn't she a lesbian? I mean he's bi, but still..
@@takineko I have no idea. All of Holywood is degenerate as fk so it wouldn't surprise me.
The tension definitely seemed to be more…carnal in nature 😂
Hardy missed the mark with max
So in other words, Tom Hardy was passive aggressive and acting like a diva. Much like Wes Snipes did in Blade 3.
Sounds like Tom Hardy is a clown. Hearing more about his onset antics. Overrated.
I think they wanted each other but got frustrated they can't do it
I can't understand this. If he was a girl, he would be treated much much worse than this. Girls have lost their careers for a fraction of this behaviour.
Debra Winger (officer and a gentleman) is really bad to work with.
She had bodyguards on set to protect her from him
Nope..but nice imagination.
Imagine actually making a film about Mad Max and “MAD MAX” never actually shows up in the story line and is sidelined and sacrificed at the altar of the left wing THOUGHT POLICE. This is hilarious and is comedy gold. I can’t believe this total tripe actually got 6 Oscar’s after killing the MAD MAX franchise.
No wonder Tom Hardy struggled to appear on set. Take me back to the 80s when movies and Disney hadn’t been infested with so much left wing propaganda and cancel culture. The Marxists are a slippery bunch and have perfected their propaganda tactics since the 80s and the Cold War due to the online algorithm and the ease with which you can implement mass brain washing - right? This movie was total and utter left b….sht yet again!!
Why is sh e in a MAD MAX Movie?? We want to see MAD MAX, not the over the h ill brooms tick from South Africa
Over the hill? She was only in her late 30s when this movie was shot. Also, you don't speak for everyone (or even a majority, judging by how well received Fury Road was).
@@JudoGeoff Asians and Mestizas look younger. A mestiza or asian woman that is 28 looks 18. She might be 30, but looks 40
Charlize is a wannabe badass and Tom is a badass. Scares the crap out of her! Lol
yea...it's a badass thing to do to show up late and make theron, miller and the entire crew wait for you 3 hours.
not even the biggest A-listers have shown that kind of diva attitude. have you ever heard about tom cruise or downey jr or keanu make everyone wait for hours? and tom hardy is hardly an A-lister.
Is your mommy looking for you?
I agree with Tom Hardy, while scrawny women have a major role to play in the decisions made by meatheaded males it is a stretch to watch a woman fight off a gang of men. The movie is not very well written, it's a bad recreation of the original. I will say the motocross riders were great and all of the stuntmen/women did a fantastic job! In the future I hope we as a human population can get past this "woke" "dei" bs and make great movies again. I'm done
aah..a critical drinker fan, i see. a scrawny woman fighting a gang of men is as possible as bruce willis fighting off terrorists for 5 diehard movies. women have been kicking men's ass on films in hongkong cinema since the 80s (tarantino even paid tribute to this with killbill) and nobody in asia ever whines and protests. it's only WHITE males in USA that have recently have bitched about it. some alpha.
How is it a bad recreation of the original when it’s its own story?
“It’s a bad recreation of the original”
Exactly!! The original was much more believable, better written, realistic and more human female characters and MAD MAX actually showed up in the story. That is MAD MAX was actually in the first three films and original trilogy made in the 80s titled “MAD MAX”. No wonder Tom Hardy was pissed off.
I just hope that in future there’s someone left on Earth with the ability to actually grow a set of balls and actually make a film about MAD MAX and not this left wing propaganda b…sht. The audience was clearly duped into believing this was about “MAD MAX”.
People and big fans of the franchise who watched the original in the 80s felt totally conned and betrayed but the younger generation were oblivious because of all the pretty explosions and unrealistic scenes of a one armed women with no super powers what so ever easily beating up a gang of trained killers - right? Total and utter left wing propagandist b…sht!! Take me back to the 80s!!
What do you care what movies are being made? It’s not like you’ve ever had a date.
It's wild how bent out of shape some people will get about a the mere fact that a film even exists in a state they don't agree with, and then those folks will launch into an unhinged rant about all kinds of social and political stuff they project onto the movie, because they demand some object for their anger.
Just absolutely wild. 😅
Mad Max was a guest in his own movie. The problem with the script: feminism. The Inmortan a Fake-Joker, totally unreal.
one of the best, most unique movies ive ever watched tho
I disagree tbh
Yep, spot on. Just like they did with Luke Skywalker in the new Star Wars - they ruined him and made him weak and bitter...so despicable. Since feminists/wokies can't make anything good on their own - they must glom onto what is already good and ruin it.
weak criticism. feminism done right which this was can be good. Max and Furiosa both equally share the spotlight despite popular opinion. nothing about Immoptan Joe says anything close to Joker. the script is fine.
lol... jealous of a girl, pathetic! Furiosa was a much more interesting character then boring Max to begin with. And Charlize' presence just whiped Tom off screen to play an insignificant side-character.
I just beat the game...first time player and finally watching this garbage movie...1 hour in and no plot, nothing. he stood on top the tree stump thinking he can hold it down, while feminist actress here thought she could push the truck hahaha
What?! Dude, thats wild. What did you think / feel after finishing it? To me. And I don't say this lightly, Fury Road is a masterpiece. It actually has a very deep, profoundly spiritual, underlying narrative, but not everyone understands it. I've never seen a film say so much with so little dialougue. This film is multidimensional... it's story is told as much through an emotional mosaic and visual art, as is through the plot.
He stood on the stump to make sure the chain didn’t snap, also you’re completely off your rocker
Wow this is a horrible take in pretty much every regard
Looks like you have boring life
@@MrLemonhead333Yeah. I think either the comment is trolling or it’s a youngster… or a very misogynistic lad whose opinions probably shouldn’t affect anyone but those close to him. I only say this because a previous comment I saw from them answers by saying “she’s a f actress” never acknowledging the fact that it wasn’t just Theron who was upset by the working conditions. Just noticed a wee bit of anti female sentiment. If the films not for you, that’s 10000% okay. I can see how this movie isn’t for everyone. Even if you didn’t like the movie solely for the “feminist” message that’s okay- don’t necessarily blame you. However, if you go on about life thinking it’s women against us, then I really do hope and implore you change that mentality, or else it’s going to be a very depressing life and you’ll end up like the crazed brutes from the series. I mean this well. Use the brain not emotions.
Most overrated film of 2015.
"moZt OVerrratd Fim oF2 o15 blahblah daaa"
How
Most Overrated Comment ever. Cant even back up your opinion😂😂😂.
@@daredevilofdallas it's a feminist piece of trash. Mel Gibson isn't in it, and the plot is non existent. It sucks.
@@dustinneelyhaving girls as main characters of the movie doesn’t make it feminist, and feminism doesn’t make a movie bad. Mel himself praised Hardys work as Max. The plot is simple, finding a home in this apocalyptic world, because it is an action movie, it doesn’t need huge plot twists for it to be good movie. If u didn’t like okey, but ur reasoning for it its very bad
actors presenting as if they have a REAL job is infuriating. YES, what they do is unique. but largely innate. most of the best actors are not products of lessons and practice but a charisma and chemistry for the work. stop pretending your work is hard. You're pampered, well paid, and VERY fortunate.
