Kalama Falls reminds me of the Falls of Rauros of the River Anduin. I'm glad Elrond got you to the trailhead safely! The color of the upper pools is stunning and the sound of the water flow is glorious! Cold water is very healing too. Your "leftovers" looks extremely palatable (tastier than waybread I imagine). Oh my, that campsite looked awesome. I love being close to running water like that, especially when the water looks like that and not a muddy mess. This just looks like a surreal spot compared to what I normally see on my hikes. Thanks again for another great video showing these amazing spots to visit.
Hi Rosa . Your surroundings are pristine ! Like pictures on a calendar . Do you have an under water metal detector ? Some of the places you go should produce lots of coins and jewelry . Something to think about and it's a lot of fun . Take care , have a good time !

Kalama as in Washington, one of the most beautiful states in the union! I believe that is where you were. NICE job of capturing the scenic wonder of the place.

I’m also a solo camper and thru hiker . I do a lot of national park camping too just because I love them so much. I’m solo but travel with Sig Saur. Hope you do as well, there are seriously disturbing humans anymore. Animals are lovely out there but not all the humans are! Great video
I hike, camp and backpack mainly solo as a man and rarely see solo females other than near trailheads. One time on the Superior Hiking Trail, I had just finished my morning constitutional in the latrine which is just off trail, when I heard someone walking up to use it. Button my pants and find a woman standing there. Said hello and went on my way, ran into her later that morning and we chatted awhile, she was a local and I noticed a sidearm on her hip. I asked her is that for animals or people, she said "Yes". I told her I understand and advise the same for others as well, especially solo females. I recommend two friends, Smith & Wesson. 😉 I usually have bear spray on my hip and a sheathed knife hanging around my neck as well. More sketchy people incidents than animals in my experience too and the one animal was a dog off leash...which was a people problem.
@@thesuperioraffection4502 I’ve never had an animal encounter that was dangerous, I’ve seen bear far off from me and we were separated by a good lake! I like it that way. I have encountered some weirdo humans and unarmed I’d have been very afraid. I’ve never pulled my weapon on a human while on travel/ I did to a home invader. I have used bear mace to get a man following me to comprehend when I said get the eff gone I meant it. He just stayed too close for me . He was clearly able to pass and continue on as he’d had caught up to me. He tried to talk and I was very blunt. I said I’m a woman alone in the woods , no offense but I’m not here to meet men and I’d like you to go on. He insisted he should keep me safe. I don’t need help! After about 2 hours I needed to pee and he was still about and was going to remain. I said I’m done go on or - I aimed that crap and he said “you wouldn’t dare” I said try me and he quick stepped my direction and I let loose bear mace. If he wasn’t a creep, oh well. Needless to say he was rendered useless and I hastily made my way to another trail and luckily many hikers were on that trail. I hate California as it’s the only place I’ve had real issues that spooked my inner creep sensor. That man shook my soul. I gave him every chance and every nice word to encourage him to carry on. If you ask me, he asked for it. I provided. I’m sure he won’t be bear maced before sorting out a situation ever again.
@@thesuperioraffection4502 I do readily show the sidearm so while I don’t need to make it known I have put my hand on it to point it , I’m armed. If people smell like rusty old cans they smoked smeth. I found that out also in California. Those people make me nervous as well …also worry about their skin touching anything I’ll touch. 😳
@@israelizzyyarrashamiaak766 Sorry to hear you've had 2 legged predator problems. Thankfully you kept it from becoming a bigger problem. The first incident I had when I lived in Mpls, I had a couple of sketchy incidents near a local lake popular for biking and hiking. Trails that were in the woods were less frequented so once in awhile there'd be some unsavory folks up to no good. That first incident I was out there and met a guy and I said hello in passing. He didn't respond and I immediately could tell something was off. I looked over my shoulder in about 10 seconds and he had turned around and was following me. I had nothing with me other than water and my keys as I walked from my apartment nearby. It was a trail with only two exits and I kept thinking I would run into an accomplice as I walked faster. I started jogging an eventually lost sight of him and thankfully no accomplices. Learned my lesson and always carried my phone, pepper spray and knife after that (Hadn't made friends with Smith or Wesson at that time). I met a solo traveler woman in Theodore Roosevelt NP in ND 6 years ago, and she lived in Mpls as did I. We hung out for the day in the park and had dinner a few weeks later and kept in touch for awhile. She mainly traveled solo as well, it's something I really admire in a woman. Haven't hiked in CA, since getting into it in 2012 I have REALLY wanted to see Yosemite and the Sierras up close and in person and perhaps do the JMT someday, but I have settled for home state adventures along with the Rockies, Tetons, Black Hills, and earlier mentioned TRNP.
omfg that campsite is so lush and beautiful! And I love the feeling you get when you find your favorite campsite is AVAILABLE! :) You looked especially happy. Your food segments inspire me, but I hate doing dishes! Maybe it's worth it!? Rosa, I have a request!!! -- Maybe you could show how you do your meal cleanup / dishes. :) And finally, unfortunately, I need cell service for my digital work. I need to respond to clients quickly. So I'm limited where I can go. Sadness. Despair. :( I wish I could retreat to the wilderness for a week. Rosa, I will TRY to create to no-cell-service life, ok?! You inspired me. Maybe I'll hire a manager! haha. I agree with you about cities and 'burbs -- I stay away from them, now. But small-town life -- by a beautiful mountain lake (Tahoe) -- for a couple years ... isn't so bad for now. :)
I don't want to show how I clean my dishes because y'all will judge me 😂 I usually just boil water in the dirty pots/pans and then wipe them out with paper towels. I also just don't use a lot of dishes! I'm not fully off grid!! I also need service to post my videos so I understand completely ❤️
Since I've been on the road (3+ yrs?), I've not had a campsite that was as gorgeous as THAT one! I'm so jealous. As an introvert, I'm curious about YOUR avoidance of "the public". For me, it's a love/hate thing - I go 2 weeks w/o contact, and may see 2-3 people during that time. And sometimes I enjoy that interaction. But when I'm in town to grocery shop & do laundry, I'm hyper-aware of everyone around me (especially in Walmart). Maybe others are as well? Is it an elemental modification by nature on our psyche? I mean, why would we rather plunge ourselves into a cold, flowing stream, than interact with a group of strangers? Are we rebalancing? That dish you prepared was pretty impressive for the tailgate. I had peanuts & wine for dinner. 😊
That scared explanation actually makes lots of sense. I would say your more at risk in the city. And being around people can be draining. It’ll suck the life right out of ya.
Now that ts my kind of camp site beside running water..... Nice swimming hole, but you were brave staying in that cold water..... Lucky for me when I went in the back country there were no cellphones & yeah II spent a lot of time at the river always feeling free because there were no people around..... Stay safe ❤
My parents always tell me stories of their 5 week honeymoon roadtrip and it's wild how they used paper maps for everything and didn't even have a cell phone lol times were simpler back then ❤️
😅😅😅😅- that reminds me of one time when I was a kid and I ran and jump into a lake up in Colorado- it was so cold that I couldn’t breath and I swear my heart stopped for a second. I believe it was called Beaver Creek Lake if I remember correctly.
There is a time for everything. Now is your time to enjoy being young and healthy and enjoying nature and isolation! (Just stay safe and have fun.) But there will also be a time for interacting with more people in civilization. You don't want to become a crazy old cat lady in your old age. :D

Haven't hiked in CA, since getting into it in 2012 I have REALLY wanted to see Yosemite and the Sierras up close and in person and perhaps do the JMT someday, but I have settled for home state adventures along with the Rockies, Tetons, Black Hills, and earlier mentioned TRNP.
never knew how much I loved floss before this.
I mean I really love your videos and watch all of them no matter what the thumbnail is. But still I love how pretty your thumbnails are
And sorry if my english is bad. I`m not so good at it
Thank you ❤️
Greetings beckoning you from Uganda 🇺🇬 🇺🇬 🇺🇬 🇺🇬 Uganda East Africa 💯 💥 🤙 ☝️
Hi!! Welcome ❤️
Disconnect from media and people for a while sounds lovely.
Cool video!
omfg that campsite is so lush and beautiful!
I also need service to post my videos so I understand completely ❤️
wow.. what a swimming hole, lucky
Nice gypsy bath/shower.
I think this is my favourite video that you have made. 🧡🧡🧡
Now that ts my kind of camp site beside running water..... Nice swimming hole, but you were brave staying in that cold water..... Lucky for me when I went in the back country there were no cellphones & yeah II spent a lot of time at the river always feeling free because there were no people around..... Stay safe ❤
My parents always tell me stories of their 5 week honeymoon roadtrip and it's wild how they used paper maps for everything and didn't even have a cell phone lol times were simpler back then ❤️
@@lifeinmyelement Paper maps, brings back a lot of memories ❤
The most dangerous thing in the woods, are humans.
😅😅😅😅- that reminds me of one time when I was a kid and I ran and jump into a lake up in Colorado- it was so cold that I couldn’t breath and I swear my heart stopped for a second. I believe it was called Beaver Creek Lake if I remember correctly.
stumbled upon your vids recently and have very much enjoyed them. . Gosh darn it .
Awww thank you so much ❤️
I love camping adventures, Just ran across your's, GOOD CHANNEL
Thanks ❤️
Ur vids are great and encourage me to travel alone and know that’s okay thank you
Your absolutely gorgeous and again with an amazing location
Thank you ❤️
@@lifeinmyelement anytime love
😆 😅 she is funny. I was saying that water must be cold 🥶Just stay safe darling.
There is a time for everything. Now is your time to enjoy being young and healthy and enjoying nature and isolation! (Just stay safe and have fun.) But there will also be a time for interacting with more people in civilization. You don't want to become a crazy old cat lady in your old age. :D
I will absolutely be a crazy dog lady living alone, that sounds like a dream ❤️
That water looked amazingly refreshing!!! 💜
Refreshingly cold ❤️
@@lifeinmyelement hehe 🤭
You are simply beautiful.
These waterfall pool is spectacular. I would call you a lucky person to be there, but I know that it’s all your hard work to find places like this one :) lol
It's also a lot of luck, to be honest ❤️
