People problems? It’s likely a sourcing & selecting problem. Or maybe you’re not telling the right story to attract A-Players. In this video I share the 5 step framework to scaling your team.

Very cool Dan. I especially like the story part and use that also in my companies as well as with every movie I make. So a good exercise to make youtube videos as well I guess ;-)

Great points Dan. I've had success hiring devs from the Philippines and India on Outsourcely. Our team is 100% remote and most have been working full time with me for years.

If I have a potential co-founder who has the right attitude, the right skill-set, and we have a potential project to "work together before working together", would moving forward based on this information be a good idea? Or are there other things to consider? It would be a rev share on a service business and we're aligned on concept. We'd both be open to sweat equity and I have a roadmap together with a timeline for us to execute. Any thoughts?

It sounds like the project to "work together before working together" is a paid client project? if so, not what I'm talking about.
The "Test Project" should be something that doesn't benefit either party, but gives you a chance to collaborate on something. 10 hours min/max.
Also, in my recruiting process this is the last step after going through many other filters on core values, gap between skills and expected outcomes, profile assessments, etc.
That complete process is only something I teach in my Elite Entrepreneurs program.

great video and advice! I was once told that really great salespeople aren't looking for jobs, they have them... how would you go about bringing those a players in?
I'm hearing that great professional development is a big attraction...

Richard, approach them using the "Ask for Advice" angle. Reach out to them, ask for advice, connect, build trust and enroll them in your vision/mission.
That's why people will make the switch.

Ive really resonated with this video. In February, I went Nationwide for my Real Estate Title Services. Ive hired extra folks and even hired, I previously fired, to keep up with the extra workload. Im working alot more, and spending alot more too, so Im struggling what my next step should be. I have aquired 2 Big Clients and have about 30 small clients.
4 of the 4 new hires Ive been training to do the research portion and seeing which cream will raise to the top. Of the 4, the only one with potential, is only available on a part time basis. and I need one good Full timer.
Any suggestions on how to hire a reliably smart workhorse full time and ask for some kind of commitment and dependability, so I can give them more work?
As a sidenote, I rented a Tesla for the day, when I needed to rent a car for a day. I can't tell you how an "object" of sophistication snd high-tech, Super Sonic Speed and it felt like a robot assisted driving.....and super quiet..... has re-energized my commitment to excellence and Scaling my business. So, if you get a chance, rent one and see if you get re-inspired. :)
Great Video, Dan! I loved it!

Richard, great to see you in the comments!
The best way to scale hiring is to build a system that produces great talent for the team.
It's less about the tactic, and more of how you setup the recruiting process. Ex:
      - Sourcing
      - Selecting (ex: Kolbe A, Myers Briggs, etc)
      - Team Interview
      - Test Project
      - Onboarding + Training
If you spend the time to set this up, then you'll be able to predictably recruit and hire great people 95% of the time.
Fill the holes in your process.
