    1. Don’t become good at something you hate.
    2. Go to bed and wake up at the exact same time every day.
    3. Take care of your body; it’s the only one you have.
    4. Stay close to people who want more for you, not from you.
    5. Normalize leaving people in the reality they’ve chosen.
    6. Being humble is thinking of yourself less, not thinking less of yourself.
    7. You get tested the most when it’s your time to level up.
    8. Improve yourself daily-make that your only addiction.
    9. You teach people how to treat you.
    10. Admit you’ve walked through the wrong door instead of staying in the wrong room.
    11. Waiting for a sign is a sign.
    12. Nothing you’ve gone through has made you weaker.
    13. Everything wants you when you want nothing.
    14. Be willing to be misunderstood for long periods of time to be successful.
    15. When things get easy, go hard.
    16. Only ask for advice from people who have been where you want to go.
    17. The word “No” is a complete sentence.
    18. Don’t dim your light to make others comfortable.
    19. Have a primary aim for your life.
    20. Stop reading books, start studying them.
    21. Always assume positive intent.
    22. Put your own mask on first before helping others.
    23. Look for problems, don’t avoid them.
    24. Your new life will cost you your old one.
    25. Confidence comes from keeping commitments you make to yourself in private.
    26. Dedicate a decade, not a day, to your goals.
    27. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
    28. Tell people about themselves; acknowledge their strengths.
    29. If you keep running into bad people, you may be the problem.
    30. Avoid drama and gossip at all costs.
    31. Fear gives bad advice.
    32. It’s never too late to change.
    33. Get rid of all your vices.
    34. If you’re addicted to your phone, your life isn’t interesting enough.
    35. Take on as much responsibility as you can.
    36. Don’t blame anyone else but yourself for your circumstances.
    37. Be blissfully dissatisfied with where you’re at in life.
    38. Make time for what matters to you.
    39. Respect comes from admiration, not fear.
    40. Life is a mirror, not a window.
    Make use.

Success is a journey, not a destination, and it's paved with the actions you take. Building wealth isn't about luck; it's about consistent, intentional steps. One of the most powerful habits is regular saving. By setting aside money consistently, you create a foundation for solid investments.

My dad told me when I was a teen “Don’t dim your light to make others feel better about themselves “
I can’t tell you how many times I heard that in my head. Especially during times of great success for myself.
The moment you feel that someone’s trying to dim your light, remove that person from your circle.
No matter who they are or how bad the consequences may be

If you wanna be successful, you most take responsibility for your emotions, not place the blame on others. In addition to make you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life.

I think this is important, too much time can be wasted worrying about the opinions of others. What someone thinks of us shouldn’t even be our concern, if we truly believe we are doing our best then that’s what matters. Always be a kind person but do not lot others invade your mind and change your mood or outlook in a negative way. If you let them in it will take a lot from you like this guy said, energy vampires, and they’re all around us.

I'm offering a broader perspective on rule #16 "Only ask for advice from people who've been where you want to go".
I agree that advice from accomplished people can be valuable, but so can the advice from people who have failed in the earnest attempt to achieve the same goals you're trying to achieve. Don't discount the wisdom of someone who tried and failed, but who can also tell you where he or she went wrong. Sometimes success is built on the lessons learned from the failures of others.
In other words, don't just learn from those who can tell you how they achieved success so that you can emulate them. Also learn from those who can tell you how they failed, so as not to repeat their mistakes. There are more wrong ways to do something than there are right ways. It's helpful to know a bit of both.

I love this video. At the right-old age of 46, I agree with all of these. One good advice I can share which is related to a several of these 40 truths is in regards to narcissists. Whether in friendship or in a relationship, if the other person seems fake, blows hot and cold, showers you with attention but then disappears, seems to play games, take forever to reply to messages - challenge them early on, call out their behaviour and see how they respond. If they make your challenge the problem and keep showing you the above behaviours, just run and leave them where they are. It doesn't matter how much you shower them with love and positivity, they will just take and will not return it. Spend your time and energy on people who want more for you (Truth #2)

There is a point here I realised a number of years ago, and it is super valuable.
I used to get very angry in traffic, and one day thought, what if he’s just gotten a phone call to say his sun is being taken to hospital.
It changed how I “do” traffic.
If I don’t want to be in a rush, I must leave on time, with a buffer in case there is a problem.
If I didn’t leave on time, it’s my fault, I shouldn’t get agro with anyone else in traffic.
Also, if I leave early, I have extra time. If someone cuts me off, so what. Someone else needs to change lanes, I slow down, I’ve got time.
Just from that one thought the one time.

If I had access to this video when I was working I would have asked each employee (especially the young professionals) to watch it several weeks before a career discussion. This is such a powerful and wide-ranging list of lessons-it’s like a masterclass on personal growth in one sitting. The emphasis on self-awareness and intentionality really stands out. For example, the point about not dimming your light for others (lesson 18) resonates deeply. So many people hold back to avoid making others uncomfortable, but staying authentic is a form of leadership that inspires others to level up too.
The advice about treating your body like a thoroughbred horse (lesson 3) is a game changer. It’s easy to forget that health is the foundation for everything else we want to achieve. The comparison to how sick people only have one goal-getting healthy-puts things into perspective.
The idea of being "blissfully dissatisfied" (lesson 37) strikes such a nice balance. Gratitude for where you are combined with hunger for more feels like the key to staying motivated without falling into burnout or complacency. That mindset is something I want to cultivate more intentionally.
Lastly, the point about life being a mirror (lesson 40) is such a profound way to shift focus inward. Instead of blaming external circumstances, seeing everything as a reflection of your own actions and mindset gives you back control. It’s humbling but empowering at the same time.

Appreciate this wisdom and realness so much. As you know, many of us do not have father figures that were in our life or father figures that had access to information and communities that could have liberated them to venture down a road that didn't consist of working the same low paid job for 30 years +. May many blessings come to you and your family for the support that you have given to me and others that want to make a difference but were lacking the insights from individuals like yourself who could relate to our struggles.

Always see you on DDE and liked your vibe. So watching a video of yours when it popped up was a no brainer. I’m going through it with a girl. We’re not in the position to be together at the moment, but I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t strong tension. I’m in a very tough spot and shes been distant which makes sense given the circumstances on her end. I overthink a lot, and so point 21 really helps. I’m just convincing myself to think positive intent with everything. She’s the sweetest person I know, but recently I’ve been subconsciously convincing myself that she’s just bad and it’s ruining my image of her. I’m constantly assuming ill intent. It’s a bad spot to be in because now I’m in an internal conflict.

Even with the right technique and assets some investors would still make more than others. As an investor, you should've known that by now that nothing beats experience and that's final. Personally I had to reach out to a stock expert for guidance which is how I was able to grow my account close to $35k, withdraw my profit right before the correction and now I'm buying again.

These events seemed like the end of everything, but turned out to be my greatest blessing. I got through it. I have zero debt. I am healthy again. I am actually proud of myself. It's a crazy feeling, I recommend it.

I have always found people trying to push themselves into my life for sometime and then suddenly they just disappear. I hate myself thinking that I made some mistakes which resulted in them leaving. I am lonely and always have been most of my life. I have a very loving family though. They don't care what am I, they just love me unconditionally. Guide me please.

Retirement is now more difficult than it was in the past. I've been saving for a long time instead of investing, and right now I only have about $400K. considering all the inflation, i'm thinking of investing in stocks, i dont just have idea on market strategies.

The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether I'll have sufficient funds for retirement.

This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800k
