Wow that dress was so beautiful and looked divine to wear and looked amazingly comfortable! Beautiful photos at the end. I’m a beginner. Your inspiring!
Thank you so much for this video! I've really been into pretty dresses like this lately but sadly the prices for these kinds of dresses are not cheap. I've started sewing recently and this video really made making this dress seem attainable for me. I just might make a dress like this in the near future. Thank you! :-)
I believe in you! I too have recently gotten into dresses like this and you're right, they are a large chunk of change to buy. But honestly the secret to a lot of them is just the quantity of fabric. It's very simple dresses with simple lines, just made with a lot of gathered fabric.
@@gabrielles1851 Yeah it does take a lot of fabric! I'm thinking of using some thrifted bed sheets to make a dress like this. Thank you for believing in me :-)
@@hannahwinters8994 Rachel Maksy did one with bedsheets. It turned out pretty darn good. The closure was kinda wonky but no one is perfect and she covered it with a bow.
Ok super random but thank you for hanging the pieces and not waiting until it’s put together and just putting it on your form. It’s one of the many things that have kind of made wanting to do skirts debatable for me because I don’t have room for a sewing form . And I guess I’ve never thought of just hanging it up on my shower rod 😅 That ended up being one hell of a train in the end beautiful!
oh, kirilee! it's STUNNING--a true dream dress!!!!! what a lovely friend you are!!! this video made me grin ear to ear after a very difficult week, so thank you!! oh, and *please* post magikarp photos! i loooooooooooooooove that cosplay (also a true dream dress...for me, at least!). :) xoxoxoxoxoxo
Firstly I love your laugh! ❤ It's just so cute! Secondly everything else was just amazing! Beautiful fabric! Absolutely stunning dress! You did a great job like always and your friend did a wonderful job modeling it!
She looked like she was having an amazing time just dancing around in the dress. I can imagine it was difficult to get her to sit and pose. I can imagine her saying "But I want to spin around in it again. Okay. Just one more time. One more time." and then like ten times later she probably finally sat to get some footage of her sitting in it.
Could you put out a poll of your cosplay ideas up and people can let you know what they'd like to see first? Just an idea to combat the decision dilemma 😊
Can you tell me how you finished off the top of the skirt ruffle? Did you hem the top, and then sew it to the skirt? I am wondering because if doesn’t look like you zigzagged that edge, but it looks like a finished hem?
You can't say you're procrastinating when doing a dress for someone else instead of your cosplay... You are not procrastinating, you are ✨procraftinating✨
Write each cosplay project idea on a piece of paper. Put those into a bowl, give them a shake and then pick one. That will then be the one you do. Since you are procrastinating with indecisiveness. Hope this helps kirilee.
The Mood calculator doesn't work for people who have a waist measurement of 46-47". Basically comes back and says it's not possible. Been sewing for years and I have yet to find a calculator for real sized women.
However, I related this to gowns I made for friends and family , one flannel. They were too big for in-house wear--too voluminous. Impractical as this gorgeous gown is.
It is nice that there are tools for the circle skirt but come on....calculating a radius from an existing circumfrence really is NOT fancy maths xD..... Radius = Circumference/(2*Pi)....that is all oO but still the walkthrough is nice and the tool is cool. I was just taken aback a little by calling calculating a radius crazy xD
I would prefer to keep it simple and use the tools at my disposal, especially when some of my watchers may not know that particular formula like you and I. I would hate to make anyone feel inferior because maths isn’t their strong point. But hey, it’s cool that you love maths so much! Good for you!
Maths doesn't come intuitively to everyone! In fact that's why some of us are so intrigued by Victorian sewing manuals because they're less focused on mathematics and more on proportions (take 1/8 of the waist for example), it's much easier to fold a piece of fabric 8x and use that measure then it is to divide fractions of an inch! Most amazing clothing historically was patterned by proportion and to fit the individual, not using strict units of measurement - we universally didn't agree on what constituted an inch or an hour until 1-200 years ago (or so). Half the world still uses a different metric than the other, inches versus meters. The expectation that everyone can math to the same high order, is a bit too much considering we're all so diverse.... Accepting that everybody has their own learning curve is a part of grace and maturity, you'll get there!
Ohhh okay, so it also was a question to make this as easy to follow as possible. I didn't concider this into my thinking :) In that regard... Yeah I can see how showing a tool like this is more accessible in the end :)!
The math is mathing!
Seeing all of your hard work and skill makes me appreciate this gown even more ❤
Oh mate, I am truly grateful that you liked it and not only that, turned it into art. You are amazing xoxo thank you for collaborating with me :)

Absolutely it is obtainable! It’s not a difficult one to put together even though it is a large dress.
Yeah! And thank you for being just such a huge inspiration in the sewing and cosplay community. I know you inspire me tons 😁

I have NEVER laughed while watching a sewing tutorial before. Love your humour and energy
Oh thank you so much! The way I see it, humour and sewing should go hand in hand :?
I so love it when the kids help🐕😊😊😊😊

The dress is soo beautiful and your friend is lovely!
Thank you and yes she is ^_^
Your doggys knowing not to step on the fabric is the most amazing part of the video to me :'D
They certainly have previously but remember how much mum shouts at them when they used to step on fabric as puppies
Exquisite❤
Thank you!
Love this dress.
Thanks!
Wow
I hope you liked it!
Could you put out a poll of your cosplay ideas up and people can let you know what they'd like to see first? Just an idea to combat the decision dilemma 😊
All good - I started the one I’m most passionate for
I used to run a stock photo site for 12 years lol
Cool!

Sure! I did a rolled hem on both sides of the ruffle. After I did this I attached it to the skirt
@@KirileeCosplay AWE…that makes sense. Thank you!
Pleasure!
I was going to subscribe because of your lovely personality and hilarity, and then i saw those TWO TINY WHITE DOGS and I knew I had to see them again.
Awww why thank you! They certainly make appearances in the videos lol

I am sorry for that. You can do the maths yourself. It is your waist measurement / (2 x pi). That will also give you answer you need :)
You can also look at the parametric circle skirt design on Freesewing, called Sandy. She won't take no for an answer.
Why can’t these be dresses famous people wear instead of fish nets?
Hey each to their own right? :) and look at the met gala!
Plenty of famous people do. In fact, many have worn gorgeous gowns AND fishnets throughout their careers.
However, I related this to gowns I made for friends and family , one flannel. They were too big for in-house wear--too voluminous. Impractical as this gorgeous gown is.
