All Dimebashing aside... People tend to forget he was a person as well as tragically short lived music icon... Unique in his playing as well as his personality!!! He was a cool dude unlike most other "Famous" musicians I've had the pleasure of meeting... I think the fact GWAR dedicated the song to him without costume is commendable in itself and I am glad to have stumbled across this vid.. CHEERZ!!!
It's sad that so many people chastize GWAR just because of their antics, their costumes or their comedic nature. If you've ever actually listened to anything Dave Brockie (Oderus) had to say or looked a bit deeper at their lyrics, you'd be surprised to find out they're all brilliant satires. Not to mention the face they are all incredibly musically talented. Don't like their music? Fine. Hate their message? Great. But GWAR is one of the most original, talented, smartest bands out there.
I was at a GWAR concert in Denver Co the day Dimebag Darrel got shot.. Dave Brockie took off his mask and reminded us its all just for stage. we all had a moment for Dime..
The only Live version of Fistful of Teeth I have ever heard or seen, also the only one I can find on RUclips, if this isn't a Tribute I don't know what is
This was quite a fucked up night in Denver.. Not only did we learn (while we are onstage) about Dimebag getting killed; but somebody also threw a dead baby shark onto the stage. It ended up in the toilet in the dressing room after the show.
Ok so I had no idea there was video of this performance, which was branded into my brain as one of the most incredible experiences of my life, but yeah the horse voice screaming backups of "fist full of teeth" at the end is me.
Yes, 2 security guards and a fan. Jeffery "Mayhem" Thompson, Damageplan's head of security was killed while engaging in hand-to-hand combat with the killer, and Erin Halk, employee of The Alrosa Villa where it happened was killed while charging him, thinking he was out of ammo, but he reloaded....and a fan Nathan Bray was trying to give Dimebag and Mayhem CPR and was cruely killed as well. This was probably the night after Dime was killed as it took hours for the news to get around.
I was actually at the Alrosa Villa when it happened - 20 feet away from Dimebag. It was the worst night of my life! I know someone named Lori who also worked the Ministry show that night!
@@SaberToothGary Yeah we were still packing up and you guys were getting into your set when we heard. Little while after that I made my way back inside that I saw you guys coming out stripped down. Just a shocking time... I'll def hit ya up soon my friend :)
yeah, Nathan Gales was a schzo and he told his friends that Dime had stolen lyrics that he wrote, but Pantera already written the lyrics he was showing his friends. i still got the mag from KERRANG! about it. RIP Dime
good video. i'll never forget when i heard dime died....my friends and i posted flyers on walls at schools "Rock in Peace Dimebag!" with his picture. sigh,
he's been recognized as one of the best guitarists ever, years before his death, dude! since the fuckin nineties. i used to read his monthly guitar mag columns when i was in school.
Check out the band SHE MURDERED ME & MAELSTROM OF SOULS & YOU"RE KILLING ME are the song names. We need support for new metal bands, you guys ask for new good metal, well there ya go. GO LISTEN TO IT!!!
Yea, I was supposed to work the Alrosa show that night. But opted to work Ministry at a venue a crossed town called the Newport Concert hall. I figured I would still be able to party with the bands at the Alrosa after I got off of work from Ministry. I was pinned in my car out front of the Alrosa villa by cops and ambulances while all the stuff was going on inside the building. I knew Stoney (Erin Hulk) very well. I was the person that trained him on most things stage handing.....
well this does show alot of respect to do that. the drummer of this one band that followed chevelle was speaking of how dimebag was such an inspiration to him, but on his drums? but they did cover raining blood which was a wicked moshpit.
I agree whole heartedly - but please bear in mind that one person's name should never be associated with the other. Dime was a beautiful person who was a virtuoso guitarist, the other was a mentally ill person who never achieved anything. Please consider not mentioning the 2 names together as in my opinion they should never be mentioned together - Remember Dimebag and celebrate him. Thank you for your comment. Craig
you have a crusade? thats sad really, the fact that there maybe one or possibly two more of you is proof that the world is better off in an ice age Rest In Piece DIME
Jesus was a revolutionary. Those who do not understand that are blind. He was a threat to the status quo and Roman impirial rule and he was leading a peaceful revolution of reason and sanity that, in their eyes, had to be stopped. Believe in God or don't, that's up to you, but it's pretty darned stupid to hold anything but the utmost respect and admiration for Jesus Christ.
This is for anyone who doesn't have a fucking clue. Dimebag Darryl Abbott was a guitarist who help found metal band Pantera in the early 80s. During the early 90s, the band had several notable hit songs including Cowboys From Hell, This Love and Walk. After Pantera broke up in 2003, Abbott formed Damageplan. During a concert in 2004, he was shot to death by an unstable fan who also killed three other people and wounded two more before being killed himself.
i agree with you, its just incredibly annoying that someone would go as far as tattooing him on thier body. the biggest discrepancy between me and everyone else on this page is the idea of what good music is.
They are only RAWG if the event\show is titled "RAWG". in this case the event was GWAR and they decided to get out of there costumes during the ending of there show..so they are still gwar. Case Closed
They'll probably just spit on my corpse. There's also no reason to get carried away. The same thing happened when Cobain died, he became suddenly flawless and I doubt seriously that either guy would say that if they were alive today.
@SicSolution the cops were looking for them apparently they "accidently let Gor-Gor out without a leash on...there was quite a mess to clean up afterward
actually no i dont think they did, it probably made him proud, this is a band that has been pantera fans for years, this was a tribute payed to their lost role model
if you don't like Dime, then why are you watching a Dime tribute? or are you one of those who just likes to stir shit up? i mean, if you don't like Dime then thats cool. but i don't see why you have to leave shitty comments, especially when its a tribute video. so remember this, Dime died, but will always be remembered by his family, friends, and millions of his fans. who will remember you?
word came thru to our tour manager... he told one of the slaves, then word spread across stage. We were bummed as fuck, and also kinda freaked out scared a bit. CrAzY fucking ending to the night... fuck!
death, indeed, was phenomenal; dime was, as well. i am quite sure dime was familiar with death's music. all dime wanted was 2play, with anyone who had the balls 2keep up with him...schuldiner did. the greatest always get taken 2 soon...
overall, dimebag was an AMAZING guitarist, dont get me wrong. But what I dont like is how EVERY band uses him as in inspiration. Hes not over rated though because he could play a guitar like I will probably never be able to.
Such a sad sad day. Rot in pieces Oderus Urungus. I was at this show. Such a great way to honor a legend. I hope the same is held for you
Serenity the Insane, weep not brothers for oderus has only returned to the stars from whence he came. only the butt boy brockie has perished
Thats how awesome Dimebag was, even a band famous for hating the human race by and large loved him.
RIP
It's cool dimebag was a gwar fan. Early on too. Watch the cemetery gates video and you can see him sporting an oldschool 1990 gwar shirt

Was a great moment in midst of a horrible action.
The only Live version of Fistful of Teeth I have ever heard or seen, also the only one I can find on RUclips, if this isn't a Tribute I don't know what is
Awesome man!! RIP Brother dime!
Gwar 4 ever!
This was in Denver at the Ogden theater ,Dying Fetus opened for them that night.
Oh man, I was at this show. That's one hell of a memory.
Thanks for posting. After the unbelievably shitty week I just had working for big box mart, this is the perfect stress reliever. RIP Dimebag!
Awesome show, we love you Dime! I hope he`ll be back!
august 20, 1966- december 8, 2004. ~forever stronger than all~
Gwar is fuckin awesome and the fact that they did a tribute like this in honor of Dimebag Darrel is awesome.
never really got into gwar..but this video just makes me respect them so much more...RIP dime...
cheers, hamXcore!
RIP Dimebag!

That shit would give me PTSD
great to know that gwar cares...
December 8, 2004, Denver CO @ Ogden Theatre. Saddest night of the tour. We found out about Dime right after our set, just when GWAR was going on.
Wow, really? We didn't know til just before that song...
Man, drop me a line at the Mobile Deathcamp Facebook!
@@SaberToothGary Yeah we were still packing up and you guys were getting into your set when we heard. Little while after that I made my way back inside that I saw you guys coming out stripped down. Just a shocking time... I'll def hit ya up soon my friend :)
Gwar. Nice People. I Can See Who Passed Highest In Their class. Such Nice Boys. Nothing Wrong With Them. They're Just From SPACE.
yeah, Nathan Gales was a schzo and he told his friends that Dime had stolen lyrics that he wrote, but Pantera already written the lyrics he was showing his friends. i still got the mag from KERRANG! about it.

@savagechipmunk- it's Rawg, not dbx
Since my dad and his friends are best friends with Dave they have the sword they use up on stage at their tattoo shop.
Cool, what shop?
R.I.P. Dimebag!
this is a mockery of the godly song
The song they play live in the Viva La Bam episode is Womb With a View
good video. i'll never forget when i heard dime died....my friends and i posted flyers on walls at schools "Rock in Peace Dimebag!" with his picture.
sigh,
I was at this show
R.I.P. Dimebag Derrell, you were a god
I haven't seen this in years. I was there. It was very intense to say the least. :(

If you dislike Dime, don't run into a metal fan and voice your opinion.
ok my bad dude, thats just what i read and heard but there are so many different versions of the story. IM JUST PISSED THAT ONE OF OUR LEGENDS IS GONE
you have a crusade? thats sad really, the fact that there maybe one or possibly two more of you is proof that the world is better off in an ice age
Rest In Piece DIME
you mean he IS a legend, and always will be
RIP Dime
really? is that what point blank means? thanks for clearing up the mystery... what other bits of gun trivia do you know?

it was in Columbus, Ohio. i'm from Columbus and it was in our news. plus, i'm a Pantera fan
i agree with you, its just incredibly annoying that someone would go as far as tattooing him on thier body. the biggest discrepancy between me and everyone else on this page is the idea of what good music is.
I was there. Saddest night ever
r.i.p dimebag
I was there it was crazy
what's he say at the end?
All that said, GWAR fucking rules.
genius!
RIP Dimebag
but i highly doubt this was filmed the night he was murdered, maybe the day after
he was guitarist for Pantera, he was shot on stage.
@DemonWarp65 Dimebag is a Musician :)
was it the same concert, or how did they find out about it?
thats pretty weird they had a show the day after such a huge thing happened there
Wasn't the head security guard and a fan killed as well?
They are only RAWG if the event\show is titled "RAWG". in this case the event was GWAR and they decided to get out of there costumes during the ending of there show..so they are still gwar. Case Closed

sorry about that bro. I just read and heard a different story to it, one person saids one thing the other saids something else. JUST MISS OUR LEGEND
They'll probably just spit on my corpse. There's also no reason to get carried away. The same thing happened when Cobain died, he became suddenly flawless and I doubt seriously that either guy would say that if they were alive today.
Nope. War Party came out in October of 04, Dime died in December of 04.
@UlvKriger you make dimebag sound like a nerd. he shredded like no one else. how hard is it to say that?
@SicSolution the cops were looking for them apparently they "accidently let Gor-Gor out without a leash on...there was quite a mess to clean up afterward
ok woot for gwar being "nude" on stage that rocks i think ive seen dave running the merch stall here in england but couldnt be sure
Gwar...is..and by far the greatest fucking metal band ever..no matter what anyone says..i dont care..they are.
actually no i dont think they did, it probably made him proud, this is a band that has been pantera fans for years, this was a tribute payed to their lost role model
im too blind! i can't see it! good song though! always a good song!
if you don't like Dime, then why are you watching a Dime tribute?
or are you one of those who just likes to stir shit up?
i mean, if you don't like Dime then thats cool. but i don't see why you have to leave shitty comments, especially when its a tribute video.
so remember this, Dime died, but will always be remembered by his family, friends, and millions of his fans. who will remember you?
how did dime die?
When you see GWAR unmasked and say HEY they look just like the X-Cops! LOL (X-Cops fucking rule)
DIMEBAG DESERVED IT
gwar is the best.
true dat!
marco is fkn spot on
Agreed.
my guess a friend of Gwar's had called them during the show
word came thru to our tour manager... he told one of the slaves, then word spread across stage. We were bummed as fuck, and also kinda freaked out scared a bit. CrAzY fucking ending to the night... fuck!
word..
@siglerproductions Dimebag was the gitarrist of Panterra =)
There were quite a bit of girls at the last GWAR concert i went to..
cool but could hardly see them at all....should of zoomed in
What's someone going to say when you die?
nevermind! I knew who he was, I just forgot his name! I remember now!
I saw GWAR in 1989 at a small club in Oakland Ca called the Omni....way ahead of Lordi..better stage show and costumes
the costumes are gwar
death, indeed, was phenomenal; dime was, as well. i am quite sure dime was familiar with death's music. all dime wanted was 2play, with anyone who had the balls 2keep up with him...schuldiner did. the greatest always get taken 2 soon...
he was never in gwar. he was in pantera and damageplan
@roguestoryteller
Are you serious?
I dont get it a tribute show for diembag the same day he was murdered?Thats weird!
it is
They're not in costume, might this be RAWG?
Actually, you DO listen to GWAR. Just ask them.
@MrGwarify Ummm....they're not in costume. Take a really good look.
overall, dimebag was an AMAZING guitarist, dont get me wrong. But what I dont like is how EVERY band uses him as in inspiration. Hes not over rated though because he could play a guitar like I will probably never be able to.
if thats how you roll, go ahead.
he wasnt a drummer
