This Lawn Mower is a reward that I want to give to my brother after many years of mowing lawns to help clean the environment. He was very happy when he saw me give it to him. He was happy because now there is this machine that can clean faster to help many abandoned houses to help rebuild a greener environment.

Estuvo muy bueno el mantenimiento pero el modo como quitó el óxido para pintarlo faltó pulirlo un poco más, sin embargo estuvo muy bueno el trabajo 👍🏻

Coil upside down choke spring missing air vane and thermostat assembled wrong didnt adjust valves and no flywheel key
And what about old air filter, max rotation speed adjust... Blade balancing etc 😢 if i making restoration movie, its not only about cleaning and coloring 😉

Bei 40:19 sieht man,daß der Bowdenzug vom Gashebel falsch verlegt ist.Die Öse rechts am Holm ist dafür gedacht,den Griff vom Starterseil einzuhängen,damit man sich beim Anlassen nicht bücken muss! Wenn man den Gaszug da durchführt wird er beim zusammenlegen des Holms meistens geknickt.Sieht man leider auch oft,bei Rasenmähern,die im Baumarkt in der Ausstellung stehen ...Aufbauanleitung lesen hilft 🤣🤣

Am I the only one seeing how awful that thing runs? Or noticing that the self propelled feature clearly isn't working? Engines are supposed to he precise machines hence why it was shaking apart. I'd wager it doesn't run for more then a couple of hours. Not to mention that hideous color combination but hey you got clicks
Again a old fake restauration. It's just a clean up from a neglected machine.
There's a plastic discharge cover and plastic wheels. This isn't an old mower.
Not so much a restoration as more acleanup and repaint but a good job no less

36:52 - Next time, please spend the money on new decals. This on has paint overspray on it. It’s dirty. New decals would have improved things, not to mention, why not repaint it the original colors?
42:10 - It runs lke crap. Did you gap the plug, etc. before putting it in?
Better if your purchase a couple of hundred hungry sheep. Your calling in life isn't in the mower restorations field.
My only critique is the choice of paint colors. Real "restorations" try and match the factory colors. They also don't paint parts that are not painted from the factory. Where I live in the states this would be a called a hillbilly deluxe restoration. And you wouldn't pay more than $150 for.
NO, we don't paint anything. Makes it more authentic looking, and less of yard eye candy for theft.

Makita have only been "making" lawnmowers for less than 10 years, and this one has plastic rims with fake hub caps. Its brand new made to look old. The colour is the least of the issues here!

SUPER OLD :D :D :D even plastic is rusty :D:D:D. I have a repair shop, and trust me this unit is not older than 2010. And to make it rusty you have to use iodine mixed with water. Why don't you restore something that doesn't have any compression? that would be more interesting that this fake theater.

When you put in the engine back together I noticed you put the coil on with the word c y l faced up. I think that means you put it face down cylinder equals down

Using abrasive wire discs to clean metal surfaces is lunacy. Microscopic pitting this causes simply gives purchase to rapid build up of carbon deposits. This means you will need to de-coke the piston almost immediately. You should have polished surfaces that need to be so - not scoured them. Obviously this does not apply to surfaces which receive gaskets. Still, it’s only a lawnmower, not a performance car luckily. By the way, when sharpening rotor blades, try to balance them lest the machine becomes a real bone-shaker in use.

My critique is sloppy & careless work. Nothing was sanded, used wheels, engine block needed machined, old piston, etc. I then saw who did the work & it figures. The motor was about burned up by the end from trying to cut that heavy grass/weed. Terrible

A couple of comments:
- I would not paint the cylinder, heat is one of the main destruction factor for that B&S engines;
- I would restore cylinder wall scrapes for reduced oil consumption;
- automatic RPM and choke are removed for unknown reason: that systems work like a charm on B&S allowing one pull start;
- self propelled gear removed for unknown reason…

Klasse Arbeit! Aus Schrott wieder einen tollen Mäher gemacht. Nur zwei Dinge gefallen mir nicht. Die falschen Farben und der alte Luftfilter. Das ist sehr schade, weil du ansonsten super gearbeitet hast 👍🏼
Good idea to simply replace the carb as cleaning it is pain, and it is usually rebuilt anyway.

Helps to have paid attention in engineering class and have a boatload of nice tools.
I would check the video of when i dismantled it. Take pictures or videos when you do a project like that. Saves a lot of trouble

Questionable style choices aside...3 things still ailing engine 1: valve clearance ( made worse by lapping) 2: carb tuning ( still hunting for fuel) 3: might try not pouring sludge back in fuel tank.

That's why they changed it from rear wheel to front wheel drive because of the turning abilities. Also the engine is smaller and has a hard time to cut tall grass .
