I have had this camera for several months, and just never had time to sit down with the manual to figure it out. I finally had the sense to hit up You Tube, and found this tutorial It is GREAT. So straight forward, step by step. Just enough info for a beginner to understand what is going on, but not so much as to overwhelm. I am totally motivated to start experimenting, and am sure I will be back for a refresher or 2 in the coming weeks! Thank you!!!
this comment made my heart smile! i am so happy this brought you value
I agree!
When you said JPEG Fine was good enough, I subbed. Finally someone talking about a subject and not acting like a snob. Very honest, much needed.
i love ur comment! thankyou
Here's the problem with not shooting in raw - you loose fidelity for editing later. So if you're not the greatest camera user then having a raw file will not turn the pic grainy if you need to zoom, retouching, etc. If you're good and just plunking away then yeah jpeg is fine
Excellent, clear information. I learned more about my camera from this video than I did in a camera shop class and a course at a community college. Thank you so much for making this available.
I have had this camera for almost a year now, and I just got around to finding a good tutorial on how to use it, and it may sound dramatic but this is genuinely one of the best tutroials I have seen on youtube, it was extremely easy to understand, straight forward, and exactly what I was looking for. Thank You!!!!!!!!!
Oh man, thankyou. I really appreciate the kind words.
I very rarely leave comments but I ordered 1 of these today... This is my first camera and youv helped a lot so thank you alot
hii ! im thinking of buying it, is it worth it?
@@doraa2903 yes it is, I buyed few days ago

I’ve had my D3500 for over 3 years and learned alot. You are easy to listen to & you don’t rush thru explaining things. Looking forward to watching more. I use my camera more for airshows
Thank you for this video. I got this camera after a lot of research and I'm excited to use it but I was clueless. I'm hoping you have more of these videos because you explained things well and to the point. Thank you for sharing your knowledge to help us all be a little better ♡
I got this camera for Christmas and this video was a huge help!!
Your video was easy to follow. All I had to do was pause and adjust my camera as you suggested. Thanks!
Thank you for taking the time to prepare this tutorial. I just bought this camera and I love to watch your videos, I learn a lot.
Glad it was helpful!
First the small flower on the mode wheel is close up mode not landscape. Second the timer can be adjusted 2,5,10,20 seconds and third the flash button does do something, if you hold it down and use the black scroll wheel (top right of camera) it will scroll through your flash settings.
I just bought the camera and have no idea abt this Cuttie, but what he explain and its really helps.
My kids got me this for Christmas! Thanks for this!
My first real camera, this video was so incredibly helpful, thank you so much!!!! 😊
You are a life saver!! Still have to practice using this camera but invaluable to get me started. Third time I looked at this and will probably have to look again.
The usual good content here. I have one of these Cameras and only half ( probably a third ) know how to use it .............. until now !
They just announced the end of the 3000 series with no hint of what might replace it. Great little camera/ good review..
I love this video. It helped me Understand some of the features on my camera now. I just need the more video somehow to actually begin taking pictures
Thank you so much for this video! I finally got this camera for my birthday and quickly realized I needed help. Now I can't wait to use it on vacation!!!
Love the basic info! I just got this camera, and I have found there is a way to adjust the self timer in the setup menu. It can adjust to 2s, 5s, 10s, or 20s.
Thanks so much for the tips I was wondering about this
The self-timer mode can be changed from a two-second timer, to a five second timer, then ten seconds and lastly twenty second timer if you wanted a delay before the camera shutter clicks and takes the photo
I just bought this camera, and this was an extremely helpful video. Thank you!
Just got this for Christmas today! Thank you for this video
Bought my D3500 before Covid-19, After lost few family members and friends I was under severe depression. Never open box of my Niko D3500. Finally I have to learn to live my life slowly, Today opened box and searching tutorial video, I found your video very informative for the beginners like me.

Great introduction to the camera. Thanks!!!
bought 6 of these for my classroom, on the recommendation of another teacher. Now I have to learn to use them. :)
Why the heck you bought 6 of the same camera? 😂🤔
Extremely helpful video! Thanks man!
Great tutorial but i spent the last hour trying to change my iso to no lol. The problem was i needed to be in manual(M) 12:29 setting on the knob lol. Ok back to this great tutorial. Love it.

@@ntvaaa You welcome.
Thanks i read this before i start setting my camera! Haha thanks!!
Thank you for sharing this video. It is good to know about the D3500.
My real first camera, am so glad this wonderful video.
I badly need this camera. But I need to keep 5,000 pesos per month firstly, basically I start this month and in our country it costs 25k something so maybe by June I'll buy that camera.
Have you nearly saved up enough yet?
Really good info!!! Well presented!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks dude your video helped me a lot thanks again
This was great. I would like some info on other classes on the camera. I’ve had the camera for two years.
I really appreciate your video... I picked up so much information
Great Job!! Thank you so much!!! I just purchased it.
Just picked up one of these off Amazon and will be a few days till I get it. Nice to get a heads up on what to expect with it.
This helped a lot! Thank you so much!
9:03 it does self time at other increments! :)
What do you do to change it? I haven't been able to figure it out lol
The increments is 2 and 10 seconds only.
In the menu settings you can select 2, 5, 10 or 20 seconds 😊
Thank you so much your video helped me a lot to understand everything 👍🏽👍🏽🔥🔥
Super helpful video. Thank you!
thanks so much! Just bought my first camera and through your video I have the feeling that I am finally starting to understand something about photography!
Hi do you know how I can add the grid to level up my shots please?
I hope I got my camera set back normally. Was trying to get shots of Nothern Lights, changed things and never figured it out!😣 Maybe sometime you could show us if that's possible with this camera. Cell phone is too old and no workie. Anyway after I did that all my photos have been overexposed no matter what I set the top dial to. But now, I'm back to the settings you recommended and this is the video I found best for that. Thanks!
Just bought myself this camera, it should be coming today. I can't wait!
Hey man had a quick question I wanted to use my Nikon d3500 on vertical content but it wont allow me to shoot in that aspect ratio. Do you have any tips or solutions to this problem? It would be super helpful to know for my content.
Just Viewed your video. Wow ! It was so helpful. After a year of having camera I finely get it!

Bought one on black friday, this video was very helpful
Yeah, it's really helpful. Nobody can better demonstrate like you. 👍
so helpful thankyou
Amazing! Thank you s9 much for teaching me the basics!
My wife just gave me this camera as a gift for our trip to Europe. Your information was perfect. I really appreciate it. I just have a a question about the use of the timer. Can you please let me know how to use it and let me know if it works for video also?
Blessings
Thx dude really helped I use my camera for yearbook
I’ve had my camera for over a year and thanks to you , I FINALLY know how to f****** use it 🎉😂 THANKYOU!!!
This was very helpful. Kinda confused though because some of my options won’t let me click them.
Check which lens you are using and if the flash is on. I noticed this too and had to fiddle around to realize why. If you don't have the flash on, the exposure will only let you go as high as 200. The 55mm lens that comes with it will has a limit on the aperture, I think it was 6 or something (sorry already put mine away, but it was something like that). I switched it out for my 58mm lens and could go much smaller, I think that one will go as small as 10. Also, if you want to mess with things, make sure your mode on the big dial is switched to M also, otherwise it might not let you click on some things
Thanks for the great info. I am brand new to photography. I have a challenge where in the menu screen my camera does not offer everything you went over. Any suggestions.
I bought a D3500 and I'm amazed at all it can do. I now find it is considered an entry level camera. Call me uninformed, but it begs the question what more can a professional level camera do?
What about taking long exposure shots of the night sky? Is the highest iso setting going to look terrible?
Just ordered one yesterday thanks for the info
I accidentally ordered one yesterday 😬 I had been eyeballing the bundle anyway 🤪
Rachel Thompson I like mine nice entry camera if you ask me.
how many versions of the d53000's are there?
Extremely useful tips....thanks
Is this camera good for action shots like ski and biking
Just wanted to ask you, if I'm in auto mode, I can't switch off the iso sensitivity. Yes? Thanks again Sean
I've had this camera for almost two years now and am just really starting to get the hang of it and its settings. I mainly like to shoot landscape photos for when I travel. Do you have any videos or recommendations on shooting landscape pictures?
Hi, thank you so much for this video. Much helpful!
Can you tell me what kind of memory shall I purchase for this camera?
Thanks for a great and informative video tutorial☺️👍☺️
How do you export your pictures and videos to your iMac?
maybe a sd card inside or by cable
Thank you!
Is this good for car photography?
This video was really helpful! Do you have a video to explain how to set up the camera to shoot cosmetics product? Thank you so much!
Can you transfer the pictures you take from the camera to your phone??
This helps. Thank you !
20:12 "I paid for the mega pixels so i gonna stick to it" 😂😂😂
when trying to change the auto sensitivity iso off its telling me that "this option is not avail in the current setting or in the cameras current state" same for image size. any suggestions. great video. really helpful
Try to put it on manual. I figured that out watching a different RUclipsr
Yea I figured it out. Thanks tho
Make sure the knob on top of camera is on auto. I spent 2 hours before I figured this one out lol.
20:38 Can't you just set it to auto and then toggle the max sensitivity so it doesn't automatically select ISO 25600?
Once you set it to "ON" it should enable the max sensitvity toggle.
Thank you 😊
Hi! If it says “This option is not available at current settings or in the cameras current state” how can I get that to be removed?
Does the D3500 have an audio input put?
