Thank you! Do you or anyone else know of any camera control software (Windows) that has already been updated to work with the D3500? Cannot find any solution (digicamcontrol, NCCP2, Capture1, etc are all incompatible, and they seem to update only ever 6 or 12 months).

Oh my gosh THANK YOU FOR THIS! I received this for Christmas and was thoroughly convinced I was stupid... UNTIL I found this. I still have a lot to learn but now I don’t feel so overwhelmed.
I had one of the original Nikon SLR film cameras which I used for years and someone stole it. It was all metal... heavy sucker... but it took great photos. Years later my husband bought me this I am so excited. Thank you again !

I had no idea what I was getting myself into with this amazing camara. Thank you so much for helping us who have clue what we are doing.....this is like taking a 1980 "Frogger" and trying to explain the latest PS5?? is that right? Not sure. I am blown away at the quality of this camera, all I can do is put it on "auto" and hope for the best. And even though I do that, the picture quality is amazing, and I can only image what a pro can do with this camera. If you are a novice, this camera is very intimidating. But this guy will help you and that is awesome and we newbies thank you!

I should have started with a much easier camera to learn thats for sure, but I fell in love with this camera on sight. Thank you for this video. There are so many "photography bros" out there. None of them compare to the way you are able to speak to the average noob (like myself) needing a little inspiration and encouragement to make the leap from our cellphone cameras.
I followed this walkthrough for the D3500 step by step. I'm really excited to get into Manual mode asap! Mom was a Photographer's Mate in the Navy back in the 70's. I don't want her to think I'm a poser always using Auto!
Anyway, thanks again! I'm now about to go through the low-light action guide so that I can begin to capture some good basketball photos of my son!

hello being a complete beginner to photography and after watching your reviews on the Nikon d 3500 DSLR and how this camera is a good beginner camera I'm happy to say I've just recently bought one.
its second hand has hardly ever been used and in mint condition, I also got other accessories with it so I'm very pleased with my purchase I've just watched your video showing how to set up the d3500 and it seems that there is quite a lot in doing this however I'm sure thanks to your videos I will eventually get the hang of it, it is also my intentions now that lockdown here in England is beginning to ease to enroll at my local colege and do the beginner, intermediate, and advanced courses I have subscribed to your videos and enjoy watching them very much
    regards Paul

Damian Kisiel in your opinion it’s worth the $500? I really want to buy it, but for me in my situation that’s a costly purchase.

    • @damianuoho
      @damianuoho 5 лет назад

@@LogicMind99 It's not professional camera. But for me it's enough. You have image stabilization what is very, very useful (you said its costly purchase for you, so I think you will not buy a tripod for the best stabilization). You have Max resolution 6000x4000 and pictures looks beautiful even at 1080 or 720p resolution. This camera have also incredibly handy grip so holding it in hands is very comfortable.
I know how it is. I had the same problem and I want to explain you almost everything :D If you have and questions, you can write.
And yes, I think that this camera is worth really worth 500$

Always remember money can’t buy skill. Someone can go out and spend thousands on the best equipment and still take garbage photos. I have this camera because I am a young kid with little money. I can honestly say that this camera can take far more than 500-600 pictures on one battery. I have been able to take upwards of 900 shots on one battery, and that's without killing it. This camera is perfect for manual settings especially if you have a very good understanding (I do because of many hours upon hours of binging videos and self teachings) shooting RAW is a dream, and something like Photoshop/Lightroom is perfect, especially if you can get a student discount like me (all Adobe apps and 100gb of Cloud Storage for $20 a month) I actually did a test where I shot 5 full stops under exposed and this camera was able to bring it back! Now, all of the color that was recovered was green light, so I did have to switch to black and white, but it sure as hell looked accurate. I compared the same picture at the correct exposure and besides some grain, the photo was pretty spot on. With some noise reduction (on light room mobile because it's much better for some reason) you could get that picture looking better than most smartphones! When paired with a Nifty fifty, you can get some great depth of field as well as better low light performance and clarity. I highly recommend for starters. I believe that my skill level is higher than the capabilities of this camera, and am hoping to upgrade within a few years, but other than that, it's a steal!

Wonderful video! Thank you! Borrowed a friend's D3500 to see if I wanted to make the jump to a DSLR and get this model. I want to get more into manual mode and your video was SO helpful! I learned more in this video than I have in saerching!

Jared I can't tell you how helpful this video is. I just picked up my Nikon D3500 and after watching this video I feel I already know the basics of using this camera. I will be viewing this video over a few times until I know it like the back of my hand. Thank you my brother for sharing what you know

GREAT info. I'm a long time amateur photog and got this for the "weight" factor. (My old camera body must weight 2 lbs!!) There is always a learning curve with a new piece of equipment and this greatly shortened (lowered) that curve. Well done sir!!! Dang good hints.

This helped me so much in understanding my manual settings and what wasn’t originally set properly by the manufacturer. Thank you! Trying to do more manual with my blog photography, so this was perfection! Also, love the natural fro! 🙌

I debated moving to d7500 from my d3500 even though I'm a beginner. After scouring through many fro videos, I'm going to build my skills up with my d3500 and invest my money into better glass. That way if I feel I'm limited by the camera, then I can invest into a body without worries of not knowing what I'm doing. Thank you fro!

Just the video I was looking for to get me started, thank you. There is one thing, My Camera (D3500) has a location setting (GPS) in the menu where yours does not.

As along terms user of Nikon including full frame and APS-C cameras from the F80 film camera. The main item that improves the image is a good lens like the Nikon 28mm f1.8G. I love this camera is because it’s light event with a larger lens. It can give your amazing images in the type of urban that I enjoy. Just for the record this is a list of Nikon I have owned and the full frame I still own. So the list is as follows; D80 (excellent CCD sensor) D5100, D5300, D7100 (my favourite of the larger camera) and finally the D750. I was looking around for a lighter camera for my G lens and the D3500 fitted the bill. The D750 give me great results but to drag it around all day does me in. So this basic camera is first class and goes all I want a camera to be. So to me the D3500 with the 28mm lens is a real gem. Just for the record I’ve owned the FTB and the F90 film cameras as well. A lifetime of quality.
