Hunter, you may need to put the on demand water heater inside the cabin. Knowing you, you will still be doing things with Dave Sparks where water freezes.
I think the bracket for the water filter could also be used to mount a basket for shower supplies, they will need to live somewhere anyways and that space is occupied already adding additional use seems like a no-brainer to me

When attaching cabinets together it's best to screw them together through the face frames. I usually screw the face frames together under the hinge bases so the screws are not visible.
First of all, Its Looking really good! Second, Thanks for addressing the drainage of the air vent inside the shower. I'll admit, I never thought of just adding some putty along the edges to leave a gap at the bottom for drainage. I was suggesting some drill holes.... Your way is much more Elegant! LOL
Everything is coming along REAL nice! I too like CPVC/PVC for plumbing, there is just something nice about knowing everything is bonded together with glue, but I do like the speed and ease of pex. I totally agree with you on the PVC versus Peck and the primer versus no primer. What most people don't know is PVC glue doesn't glue anything It melts the pipe and fitting together. Unless the pipe and fittings are contaminated with some kind of grease or oil primer or cleaner is not necessary. I'm not a plumber but my father and older brother both ran their own plumbing company. So a little of it rubbed off. Great video brother give em coming!

If your going to spatter in the shower more..... suggest a light color.. Greys or Pastels. Darker you get the more that shower will become claustrophobic to the mind. Just how the crazy human eye works.
If the duct tape don’t work out, you could always pick up some automotive fender trim. Comes in black and chrome and pushes over the edge of steel. Sticks on with 3M tape.

Hunter, you are one multitalinted s.o.b. you are a very talented young man. I've worked in the mechanical, fabrication, world from cars to semi's various types of motor sports and as a engineer in the Alaskan crab fleet on and off for 40years. I've met many extremely talented people. You seem to be great at everything. Maybe not so much a mechanic but you make it up in problem solving by turning shit too gold sometimes.
When I did residential fire sprinklers we never used primer only a one step glue so I do agree with you Allow please do your best to insulate the outdoor pipes cause going the highway on cold days or nights were the temp has dipped may run into problems with freezing and or when idle as well. But your work looks clean. I hope you did some water pressure counts or calculations to make sure pipe size that your using is going be the right size for the water pressure your trying to get or need. Also be super careful with the metal scratching the plastic pipe cause it can hairline fractures in the pipes we found that out when installing pipe in steal frame houses. The razor edge would catch the pipe and peel but nobody thought anything until I had them test a peace and sure enough it split right down the edge that got scraped.
Guessing you've already considered it but you could put a t in the return to the water tank with a screw on fitting for a hose mounted to the outside of the box for situations when you or your gear gets so muddy that you dont want to take it into your home you could screw in a hose and have a warm outside wash down option. Edit: also guessing you've considered this but if you've still got the pat of your kitchen worktop you cut out for the sink you could trim it add some tabs and make an insert that fits in the sink for extra worktop space when you dont need the sink, ive even seen folks add a bracket to the bottom of these when they're big so they can mount to an arm or poll as a table that is only there when you want it.
This is fantastic! However I suspect the outdoor water heater is going to be a problem in the cold eventually.. Either by freezing up or costing a fortune to keep warm all the time even when not in use.
It’s on demand water heater. Also, I assume his water tank will be insulated either inside the camper or whatnot - thereby “pre heating” The water before it hits the propane unit. If you restrict flow, these little propane units can output 140° or higher quite easily.
@@morrisster That's all well and good, I think it would work fine when its in active use, but mainly my concern is for example overnight and asleep in freezing temps.. There won't be any water movement since he isn't using it, so the warm inside reserve water can't keep it above freezing temp. Without insulation, which I didn't see much of, you're gonna need hundreds of watts of hot air constantly pumping through the guts of the unit to keep the internals from freezing up and bursting. That kind of power draw isn't very economical, especially on a vehicle that has to generate it all wherever it's sitting using its own fuel supply. I think it would be so much easier to just mount it inside somewhere and not have to worry, you know? It just seems really inefficient and prone to failure.
the kitchen cabinets when you load some stuff in them and just the backwall is left on the wall. normaly you use brackets from the side walls to the back wall for holding it. the backplate is not support. at least not the ones we have where i live!
the thing with pex is that its flexible. so you wouldnt need half of those fittings. and i have never had a problem with pex fitting that are crimped. i have had issues with the shark bite fittings.
How will you protect the P-trap under the shower and the outside pipes to the water heater from freezing? Im afraid first frost night will bust those pipes for you and you will have a annoying repair job.
those plastic clips that hold the cabinet shelves will break under the bounding and vibrations while driving. I suggest replacing them with metal and while you are at it, make sure the shelves are secured in place and can not bounce up and down on those clips. Also suggest you look at RV type cabinet door latches to prevent them from popping open while driving. and consider methods to secure the items inside all cabinets from sliding around, especially pushing against the doors from inside and possibly popping them open.

I did’t see you address the shower head feed line as it passes through the oval hole in the steel; did you add any cushion there to keep the vibration from rubbing a hole in your pipe? Also the inside wall of the cabinet won’t be able to hold the cabinets together since there is a gap between the walls. Consider adding some cabinet screws through the face frames but make sure to pre-drill the holes or you may snap your screw the face frames are made of hardwood.
I'm from Germany and here we have decent showers at every truck stop and toilets at every gas station. So why all the heckle to install all this? Are you planning to go to places where you won't be able to reach a shower every day or two?
Pex fittings are $5 for a pack of 5. If you use shark bite fittings they are $13 each but you can use brass crimp fittings and they are way better then cpvc.
the ac is a good idea however it will probably be over worked in hot climates. good idea in the sense that nearly every hardware/ big box store will have a replacement as i would not expect more than a year or so out of it mostly due to road vibration and heavy use. a additional ac unit from the rv/cargo van industry such as cruse in comfert or undermount ac. or a electric ac unit from a apu company is probably going to be recommended however i do understand why they were chosen at this point as they are 3-10k for a system.
I know plenty of people that don't use cleaner on their pipes. However, I had to redo 18 joints in pvc electrical conduit because the electrician did not use cleaner and the pvc was contaminated with light oil or the like, and the welds did not take. So I guess it comes down to how clean do yo think the pipe is...
Honestly i just use primer to clean dirty pipe where you're going to glue. I've never tried not using it though. Might have to give it a shot and see what's up

Cpvc tends to dry out and crack... pex would've probably be better in your application, but... I hope yours last forever!!!

I would have done pex does better with movement and vibration and also can freeze and not crack

I would use screws instead of those plastic shelf pins. I bet the first trip every shelf falls if the plastic pins are used.

I personally would never use pvc, it's way to sturdy for something that's under pressure and moving a lot. I would go for HDPE or flex alu pipe.

Home Depot has brass cupboard brackets to replace the plastic ones. I used them in our cabinets and they work so much better.

The o-rig goes on the valve body and the trim sleeve goes over it to make it snug and water tight
Yeah I never use primer on cpvc
After you've done all this nice plumbing work, it really is a good idea to use PEX tubing. Pex won't split when it freezes.

The o-ring on the shower valve goes inside the trim piece that slides over the valve to hold it firm!

You need a bypass for the filter. I feel its just a matter of time before that exposed filter breaks, and then you dont have working water at all.
