Finally a proper review of Osmo+ For some reason all other "reviews" include total amateurs unpacking the osmo for 10 min, then blabbering about stuff they have no clue about for 20 min (but you can see that at some point they read some book about video-shooting for 5 min. and they consider themselves expert now), and maybe one or two minutes of really badly shot footage, as they actually have neither any shooting skills nor idea how to shoot with osmo. Thank you very much for finally showing me a proper review with properly recorded footage from moving vehicles.
Besides the zoom there are differences between the two, i had to do some research for my own knowledge but here's the info i got: 1. Battery - OSMO - 980 mAh - OSMO + 1225 mAh 2. ZOOM - 3.5x optical zoom and up to 7x digital zoom on the OSMO + 3. OSMO+ has “Motion Timelapse”, the ability to take a timelapse video while moving smoothly, something the OSMO does not have. 4. Changes in lens and aperture f/2.8 for OSMO F2.8 (Wide) - F5.2 (Tele) OSMO+ 94° FOV 20mm for OSMO FOV 92° (Wide) - 35° (Tele) for OSMO+

Moses Francis but can narrow the aperture without the zooming on the plus? thanks...
I have been contemplating getting an Osmo + for 2 weeks (job I have to do would benefit) but after watching tons of half baked reviews on it I ended up more confused than ever... THANK you for a great review... best out there... no nonsense - fact filled - well demonstrated and good examples... =top notch... now its Memorial Day... any sales???
I've been watching a bunch of reviews on this camera as it is one I am looking to purchase, and this was great for a lot of stuff I haven't found elsewhere. Appreciate the post!
around the 1.33 and the 4 minute mark the camera had a lot of Blur when you were panning around, when the camera stopped it came back into focus and was sharp, what caused this
Thanks once again buddy for another cracking review as always appreciate the work of the DIGIDIRECT team with their reviews and it's good to see the melbourne team handling these reviews, Will come in and have a chat to Will on Wednesday about this product! :)
i used to own the original osmo and eventually sold it because of the issues of it being hot when recording, and the noise and can be heard while recording. did they fixed this issues already?
If I want to use this without phone. Is there a way to switch between video and photo ? Is there an indicated or light on the Osmo + that tell me I am on photo or video? Thanks Great review.
My Gimbal does not operate when turned on and unlocked properly. It worked yesterday when i got it, the very next morning (day of a commercial) I cant seem to get it to work. I downloaded the latest firmware from DJI to the sd card im using. and nothing seems to work. when left unlock it says the gimbal is locked, and i only receive camera feedback on my phone when i manually hold the gimbal straight with my hands.
Hey i don’t know if you still interact with this video but i wanted to ask in the video you said you suggest an ND filter how would you attach one to this type of setup? a simple point in the right direction would help thanks
@digiDIRECT Hi man! I have a question, if you dont mind, regarding your panning at 1:23. Well I have a mate 10 pro cellphone.. great video camera but it does the same thing. I was considering buy the osmo mobile 2 but when I saw the osmo plus i thought it might have a better camera a maybe would not that that....idk how to call it... Stuttering? low refresh rate? slow processing? -issue? But at 1:23 I can see that it has the same defect as my phone camera...You placed a note saying that an ND filter can correct it? is that so?.... I can see the exact problem at minute 5:00 when you rise the camera... it kinds of ruins the video. Is there anyway to fix this? Are there other cameras that you can recommend? (im a beginner so i need to buy affordable stuff for now)
Yes, that choppy look is a result of a high shutter speed. In the vast majority of situations you want your shutter speed to be 1/50th of a second. When the shutter speed is too fast (1/100th, 1/250th, and so on) you get that choppy look. However setting a 1/50th shutter speed in daylight often means overexposing the image as that lets in a lot of light. ND filters will make it a lot darker so you can safely set the shutter speed correctly so you can avoid that choppy look. For this reason ND filters tend to be used a lot more for video than for photos (although they are useful for both)
Could you please tell me more about the ND filters which you were talking about... Cause I am a amateur in shooting videos. Hoping a reply from you 😇😇😇
Got myself an Osmo a few weeks ago, love the stabilization . However I see a lot of flicker in Osmo Movies here on You Tube and even on my own footage I have shot . (even on this review , I notice a lot of flicker). Is this something that you are aware of? Could this perhaps be addressed with a firmware update ? 1080 is the only usable format for pro use . Am I wrong ? I have used the camera in Auto and manual modes.
Hi I bought the same camera, DJI Osmo plus 4K Zoom, but it doesn't have 30fps and 60fps. A friend of mine also bought the same camera, only 25 and 50 frames per second. Although the instructions say that there are parameters with 30fps and 60fps and 4K with 30fps we do not have. :-(
What's the difference between the Osmo+ and the Osmo X5? Which is better for all around shooting (low light and daylight)? Will Osmo be making an X5 that can zoom?
Thanks for the review. What I've seen on the Osmo and also the Plus is that it won't focus real close. Even in selfie mode your face seems to be out of focus, while the background is in focus. The camera allows you to focus manually or that's not an option?
Thanks, my quandary is osmo/osmo plus lack active track. I'd rather not use osmo mobile , I just don't want to film on a phone when shooting semi pro vids. And love the idea of an all in one device that's ready to go. The other issue that concerns me seems to be with iphone/others image stabilisation which fight against the gimbal. Any suggestion for a camera phone that would match the ozmo plus image quality, without ois issues? or are you aware of anyway of getting osmo plus to active track. Thanks in advance, I'm youtubed out...Tony
very nice and informative review, kudos! any problems with the autofocus hunting or not focusing at all? on the support forum it seems to be quite common...
I really love my osmo+, but there’s one thing I HATE about it ... which is the slow connectivity between osmo+ and my phone. Sometime it even drop connection when I put it to sleep mode and take me some time to reconnecting it. I really do hoped they proved wire connection for faster and stable performance.
Nice review. Doesn't the plus also have a variable aperture? Does that aperture only change with zoom or can you manually stop down the lens without zooming?
Great educational video, thank you for that. I wonder what is the quality of picture in reduced light conditions such as restorant and churches? And does it operate on electricity?
Hi there. There isn't a physical zoom button on the unit, you have to be connected to the Smartphone app and there is a zoom control in there. Good luck!
The best Osmo review by far.
Completely agree.. Can this be used for a vlogging channel?
Finally a proper review of Osmo+

One of the best product reviews I've seen. Consise, to the point with useful tips. Thanks!
Excellent review. Talking about the zoom and perspective while showing examples was very well done.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed
Been doing a lot of research on this device and this is the best video I have seen so far ! Nice one and thank you
I agree with Raymond. You did an excellent job reviewing this and providing information on camera operation, in general. Keep up the great work!
How does it perform in low light and also how about the sound?
It looks good and I want one, but it sure seems like it has bad dynamic range. Things seem to be either pitch black or blown out.
I have been contemplating getting an Osmo + for 2 weeks (job I have to do would benefit) but after watching tons of half baked reviews on it I ended up more confused than ever... Hi thanks for this video. I have a question : are the 2 shots of the wallet taken with the osmo, at 5:36 ? If yes, woaw
osmo and osmo+ - do they share accessories (batteries, external cold shoe, extension arm) or each of them have their own kind of optional accessories?
I've been watching a bunch of reviews on this camera as it is one I am looking to purchase, and this was great for a lot of stuff I haven't found elsewhere. Appreciate the post!
Searching the Internet trying to find out if I can livestream with this thing...why is it so hard to find this info?
What is the battery life for the plus? How long can you record? It seems to be not mentioned anywhere.
around the 1.33 and the 4 minute mark the camera had a lot of Blur when you were panning around, when the camera stopped it came back into focus and was sharp, what caused this
I was really struggling to find any good reviews on this new osmo, until now! Thanks so much.
Can you provide us with a link to the nd filters used in this video please?
please tell me about batteries life, how many hours we can use?
Thanks once again buddy for another cracking review as always appreciate the work of the DIGIDIRECT team with their reviews and it's good to see the melbourne team handling these reviews, Will come in and have a chat to Will on Wednesday about this product! :)
Your welcome :) Assuming Will is in on Wednesday?
Sweet as let's see what gear I can end up with on Wednesday
4:03 How do you carry that evolve bustin??! It's so heavy! (I have one as well)
i used to own the original osmo and eventually sold it because of the issues of it being hot when recording, and the noise and can be heard while recording. did they fixed this issues already?
Dude you were awesome in Armageddon and even better in airheads. Thanks did the review
One of the best videos regarding this model DJI.. very informative.. thanks heaps
Thanks Ejaay, glad you enjoyed the video
Hello! Please tell me cooling chamber osmo+ works just as noisy as osmo?
If I want to use this without phone. Is there a way to switch between video and photo ? Is there an indicated or light on the Osmo + that tell me I am on photo or video? Thanks
Great review.
FYI, if you hold down trigger and use joy stick up/down and it zooms in and out. Didn't hear it mentioned in review.
pls can u tell me the best setting for resolution i buy but i dont khnow the best seeting for shutter and all ty
What a concise review with ample footage and product knowledge, subscribed good sir

Great video, can you help me with the motion time lapse? I can't get the option to show up to pick where the camera starts and where it ends
what is ur camera settings? i couldn’t get that quality with my cam.. ive tried much 😭
Same here bro
How's the audio? Focus on objects in close proximity?
Could you please tell me more about the ND filters which you were talking about... Cause I am a amateur in shooting videos. Hoping a reply from you 😇😇😇
Hi,please allow me ask one question about osmo plus that can it be used live streaming on RUclips or Facebook now ?
Do you have to use a phone with it or can it record without it? 🙂
Which ND filter do you recommend? Which filter did you use in the shots in this video?
does it have active track?
Motion timelapse not available?
So you should be able to zoom 3.5x at 4k right?

How about the mic, is it still noisy like the previous osmo?
cool video thanks and also for the education on wide and zoomed in footage, going to try this out on my other cams, glad I held off for the +
can osmo+ can do hyperlapse/ motion lapse like the previous model?
Time lapse he mentioned,,, so it includes hyper lapse too,,, but check it on Thier osmos official website
Really great review re the differences in perspectives. Would be good if you could show us how to physically change the zoom, though.
Would this camera be suitable for filming football from across the feild? (E.g. One Endzone to the other?)
How does this compare to a product such as a go pro with a gimbal?
Hi

we do not have. :-(
I'm going to buy either Go Pro Karma Grip with Hero 5 or DJI Osmo+ . I'm confused!
Did they fix the black screen issue ?
has anyone told you, you look and sound like Steve Buscemi? Great review!
Hello DD, do you have a video on OSMO+ for FACEBOOK lives? Cheers, Robertt
Fits the S8+ in the phone holder?
This was extremely extremely helpful, thank you so much for taking the time to do this !!
the wifi network osmo 43d248 is not connected to the internet allow wifi assistant to switch you to a better wi-fi network ?????
What's the difference between the Osmo+ and the Osmo X5? Which is better for all around shooting (low light and daylight)? Will Osmo be making an X5 that can zoom?
Awesome video but.. anyone else thinking Steve Buscemi?
Steve Buscemi with fabulous hair
and good teeth!
Steve Buscemi doing camera reviews now?
can you achieve a bokah with this camera? or somewhat of a bokah?
Where is the trigger or button for the zoom
...great work man...everything covered ...just proper
How about tracking action videos, say RC airplanes flying in the air??
helo, is it osmo plus can able to replace the trolley shots for making simple music videos or simple movies ?
Thanks for the review. What I've seen on the Osmo and also the Plus is that it won't focus real close. Even in selfie mode your face seems to be out of focus, while the background is in focus. The camera allows you to focus manually or that's not an option?
Great review, not only covered the product really well. But also gave some great info on camera techniques. Thanks
Anyone know if you can live stream on Facebook with this?
Hi can yo film or make fotos with out a phone.thamks
Better to Wait for the optical zoom version.
How would this be for property footage? Is it actual 22mm equivalent?
Did you upload any motion timelapse video with Osmo+ ?
I watched some osmo+ videos on youtube. it seems shaky compared to standart osmo. is that true?
Can you please review Osmo z Axis ?
Thanks, my quandary is osmo/osmo plus lack active track. I'd rather not use osmo mobile , I just don't want to film on a phone when shooting semi pro vids. Hi, nice review, thanks, do you notice any reduction in DOF when optically zoomed? I didn't see much on the footage. Thanks.
very nice and informative review, kudos! any problems with the autofocus hunting or not focusing at all? on the support forum it seems to be quite common...

Dear Jesus, i'm very glad to see you making camera gear reviews! see you next sunday!
can you tell me how to focus effectively ? sometimes it loses focus,
digiDIRECT I tried, but it sometimes loses focus again. Or I think it is focusing, but actually not.
Nice review. Doesn't the plus also have a variable aperture? Does that aperture only change with zoom or can you manually stop down the lens without zooming?
Excellent review, fast pace not boring. subscribed!
thanks Steve Buscemi
david spade
Glad it's not just me Hahaha
its clearly blake Anderson from workaholics
you are not in focus in selfie mode, is there any way to get a slightly closer minimum focus distance?
Thanks for all that. But you didn't answer to this question : is focus adjustable ? If yes How ? (I can't find it).
hi nice review very informative. i would like to know what were the settings you used in the video here. thanks in advance
Does it have the screw at the bottom forbthe tripod?.
what about the battery capacity ?
How can you tell which OSMO you have? Plus or normal?
Great educational video, thank you for that. I wonder what is the quality of picture in reduced light conditions such as restorant and churches? And does it operate on electricity?
thanks
Can u help how to operate zoom option
Hi there. There isn't a physical zoom button on the unit, you have to be connected to the Smartphone app and there is a zoom control in there. Good luck!
Does it have mic. And is it Waterproof.
No 1080 120?
Not good for indoors right ??
great review, really helpful in finaliizing whether to get osmo plus or regular osmo (definitely the plus for me)
Which is better? Osmo+ or Osmo pocket 2/3?
active track available on it?
Thank you for this review and tips regarding the zoom feature.
What would you guys recommend for RUclips? I'm thinking the Osmo+, or the Canon T6i. And I would get accessories for both.
digiDIRECT Thank you so much for your advice
