Great video Alison! Whenever I'm pressing something that has a "middle" (pillow case, bag, etc) I like to put a piece of butcher paper (aka "blowout paper") to catch any ink that might go through the subbing surface. For things like the pot holder or coin purses, I like to put a Teflon sheet or pillow in the middle, to (1) keep the layers from melting into each other, and (2) help flatten the subbing surface.
Thank you Alison for sharing such great ideas. I'm going to be looking into the bottle opener. What a great stocking stuffer. Hoping to get a heat press soon.
I have a Sawgrass and had the same issue trying to use a Cricut heat press to sublimate with it. I tried ordering a swing away heat press but it was a fire hazard waiting to happen and I returned it. I then ordered the rubber replacement mat for the press so I had a firmer base to heat press on and that worked! Definitely still need a wider press for bigger projects but I need more ink before I can sublimate anything else. That trial and error process certainly eats up the ink faster than you plan on!
Thank you so much for your tutorials! I'm getting sublimation supplies for Christmas to get started so they will be a big help! My printer will only print images 8 1/2 x 11. I want to be able to do some larger things. Is it possible to do multiple pieces in several different presses, or would it mess it up pressing more than once? Hope I'm making sense. Thank you for any help.
