If Ash’s female trainer companion in the anime isn’t Scottish the people will riot.

To be fair, they would never do it justice. Not even in the English dub.
If Ash's female trainer companion in the anime isn't voiced by Elsie Lovelock in the English version, I'm not interested in the new season.

Add to that Sonia and Professor Magnolia being Irish, and maybe tweak the Male Trainer as being Welsh, and you have my headcanon for the Galar Region.
nightmare09 Personally, I see the Galar protags as siblings, meaning he'd be Scottish, too. I don't know why, they just have that vibe to me... then again, I see Elio and Selene and Hilbert and Hilda as twins, respectively, so there's that. The others remain unrelated.

When I saw this comic in Lost Pause's video, I thought "Elsie should dub this comic" and now it happened.
The hilarity is undying. And the maniacal laughter in the back is killing me.
Makes me imagine the pokémon anime.
