@@josephcoon5809 Also key is after the loss decision corn man says at 2:40:17 'I dunno, I would just love if people were more nice to each other and we all are very performative on these platforms. ' So after over 2 hours insisting that destiny doesn't have to be nice - just not be toxic, and that destiny is uniquely and particularly toxic in the online politics sphere... He completely reverses on both those positions. People _should_ be nice, and it is _not_ just destiny who is combative online.
The fact that Jake looks at the Destiny / Anna situation and cannot side with Destiny, shows just how much he dislikes Destiny on a personal level and cannot go into this debate from a neutral position.
Literally the entire debate: Corn guy: "You did X to person Y!" Destiny: "I didn't do X to person Y, you're wrong." Corn guy: "We're not talking about X or person Y here!"
Or "nono let's not delve into x and y's personal life" But also goes "its their lives too, and i wanna talk about that" when destiny said he lived the shit with denims and anna. Very flip floppy

@@everydaydreamer1 literally, im kinda new here and when this video began, for some reason i thought they were the guys destiny was fighting cos of the way they were talking, but theyre the judges? tf? i feel like the point of a judge is to not come in with pre-determined opinion
Good moderation is nice, but that asshat didn't need anyone to illustrate what an asshat he was while beating on Destiny, and all Destiny needed to do was hold his own.
I hate how he keeps refusing to say "Destiny I think you should be more nice to people" while constantly making arguments based in the presumption that Destiny should be more nice to people.
The whole “I dunno man, maybe I just…” schtick isn’t anywhere as endearing as CringeCorn thinks it is. It makes him look like a passive aggressive coward.
What's funny is that those exact words can work, just depends on the tone you use. Destiny does the "I dunno man, maybe I just..." in clearly a jokey way where he points out something that seems to be common knowledge but the other person is denying it. Like when he was debating the serfs about corporate wokeness and the serfs said IBM made a system that put jews in death camps, and destiny found out it was a german subsidiary that made a census form that was then used years later to find jews, and Destiny said "I dunno man, maybe it's just me, but it DEFINITELY came off like you were saying IBM were directly helping the nazi party". It helps he nearly always does it with a smile because it's funny pointing out the person being so off from reality. But cornman is attempting the same thing, however with an overly serious tone and the stuff he's acting like is self-evident is only self-evident to extreme lefty twitter wokescolds. "You don't think NFTs are a scam inherently?" "Well no, it's a thing people can buy. I make no claims as to their value, that would be a scam." "Oh my god man I just, I dunno man" He's using it as a "I think this is ridiculous" marker, but then never explains why he thinks it's ridiculous. If you're going to act like someone just said something insane, point out why, just rolling your eyes and going "wow bro you really think that? i dunno man i just think not" means nothing, and you look like a moron because you're just shitting on arguments with none of your own.
*W O W.* Cornboy was so utterly dismantled in this one that Dylan's chat actually had people asking for a mercy rule to end the debate early. This has a strong nobullshit/Eric Striker/Peter Coffin vibe. Hilarious.

>Bullying is good so long as you can make it fit your political narrative How did these people unironically arrive at the punchline of a Sam Hyde joke?

@Trade Bum Simmons donation goal. If his audience reaches a certain donation level he puts it on. I think he mentioned it at the beginning of the debate.
Why did he bring up him being fat and Destiny being short, you’re fat because you’re lazy and eat too much. Destiny is short because he was born that way. Stop coping and using excuses when there are people with actual diseases that make it hard for them to lose weight.
To be fair, I have no idea what his potential weight struggles could be, but if you’re right, I super agree. I hate people who just insert themself into categories, wanting to take on all the social capital without any of the cons. @@Slyslug They do get along, he is just doing it for the lulz. I didnt mean it in a negative way. I don't think Destiny or Dylan really care who wins anyway.
Destiny’s kinda like a human centrifuge of opinion. Nobody in the online political space merely has a neutral opinion on this guy, he spins them around and they end up either at one end or the other. Personally I lean more left than Destiny and I think he needs to stop sometimes and look at the particular shit he says (I think he needs to delete his twitter forever for instance), but I also really like the guy and think when he has a space to formulate his thoughts and opinions and arguments (again, NOT twitter) he is painfully intelligent, well considered and precise. But most people are either very for or very against the dude it seems.
It's so weird because a lot of people are informed, but not intelligent. It's like just knowing stuff doesn't make you intelligent It's how you perceive issues, causes, and solutions. I'm curious what makes someone like Hasan or this Corn guy who are informed but have sometimes utterly bizarre perspectives and characterizations of events.
Destiny is so good at accurately characterizing what's going on in discussions and then communicating it effectively. This guy did not stick to a single point and kept coming back to the same language over and over again - he was more slippery than a buttery corn on the cob
Cornboi: _brings up personal shit he doesn't know about to try and make a point_ Destiny: "You want to walk that back" Cornboi: _sweating_ Destiny: "Okay, I gave you a chance."
1:56:35 This is the most physical cringe I've felt watching a debate. Destiny's argument is so obviously correct and corn cob just throws his hands up and goes "uh... you know that's like... v-victim blaming, right?" and then visibly braces himself. It's borderline humiliation kink content
Actual Jake is the perfect example of someone who learned how to navigate an argument but has zero experience with any actual substance. He argued SOUNDING like someone who knows something while knowing NOTHING. Certified classic.
Corn’s whole argument essentially is “Be the bigger person”. If somebody says something about you, “Be the bigger person.” But this same argument is never used at the people he is friends with or people whose side he is on. I don’t really really know any of these people but the corn dude did not “debate”.
Yeah I stayed up way too late watching this and I’m already back for the second dose. Cornhole never should have stepped into the octagon with Destiny.

I think this is why his community disagrees with him a lot, because he's actually garnered a diverse viewership across the political spectrum.
Watching this video again made me realize that the real reason people view Destiny as toxic is because of how he doesn't fit in one political demographic. Not just that, but how he calls out leftists for crucial things like misinformation on breaking news stories or general subjects that are trending. I think this leaves leftists believing that Destiny and his fanbase are toxic because they wanted Destiny to be an echo chamber that they could rely on. Instead, Destiny gave the answers they didn't want and walked away with a negative overall experience. Its pretty common for anyone to have a negative outlook on a subject even if they had some good experiences given the fact that we focus on the negative feelings much more than the positive.

You know, there isn't a whole lot I agree on with sargon but... Sometimes just being able to say, "Yeah, I don't care," does a lot to destroy this argument of, "You're mean!"
Not being nice could be an actual topic but when your argument is just fundamentally wrong of "I think you have an obligation to be nice", then of course you're going to get laughed out of the room. Like if he wanted to speak more about what he feels is an appropriate level of aggression in response to something (which destiny already clarified is matching the level they come at him from), it could be a much more interesting conversion of "Do you think as a content creator you have at least a little bit more responsibility to be moderate in response?" or something other than "omg you think there is an appropriate level of trolling? i mean, i just cant bro" In that case, the correct answer is indeed "I don't care what you think."

Yeah, the issue is that Destiny's gender takes and willingness to be genuinely hateful in those ways is high tier cringe, and corn argued that moderately passably (but not that well) but as soon as the topic drifts off of that everything flatlined so hard. For example, "the fact that you think you have a right to be *any* level of toxic is the problem", from corn, that's such an absurdly bad statement it makes his entire argument look dumb as fuck. Everyone is 'some' level of toxic. Telling somebody to fuck off is toxic. Not responding immediately is toxic, not saying please and thank you is toxic. He literally looks disengaged with the entire conversation, he doesn’t care. Just there to try to get dunks and gotchas. Very boring actually.
I make no claims as to their value, that would be a scam." "Oh my god man I just, I dunno man"
He's using it as a "I think this is ridiculous" marker, but then never explains why he thinks it's ridiculous. If you're going to act like someone just said something insane, point out why, just rolling your eyes and going "wow bro you really think that? i dunno man i just think not" means nothing, and you look like a moron because you're just shitting on arguments with none of your own.

Bullying is a symptom of a society that doesn’t have built into it the degree of fortification and tough love disciplining of its youth. But if we had better disciplining structure in school, the adversity would be built in and we wouldn’t be partially relying on disregulated kids to be the ones to cause the uncontrolled adversity that often leads to overwhelming trauma. this was a blood bath of a debate
This is what it sounds like when people who think that they are smarter then everyone else are forced to prove it and fail to prove it.
this dude genuinely changes his opinion every 2 seconds:
“i didn’t insult you/claim you try to sleep with every woman you meet”
*literally 2 seconds later*
“okay I DID claim that but…”
Classic bad faith people. "I never said that." "Ok I might have said that." "Ok I did say that, but here's why."
It's like Vaush on Rittenhouse. "HE WAS FIRING INTO A CROWD OF PEOPLE 20FT AWAY" "Ok let's look up the video and you can point out where he does that." "Ok even he isn't doing that I just want to say..."
The guy Destiny debated is one of the most dishonest people I’ve seen debating. Even the smirk on his face was a sign of coping mechanism every time he was called out
He's not dishonest per se, he's just running on the assumption the online left's perception of destiny is correct. Assumption is wrong and he's struggling to defend it...not necessarily dishonest
@@kalinsimovski5081 he was dishonest. sometimes he knew exactly what he was doing, like the "autistic and neanderthal" situation. you could see him pretending to not understand what they meant.
The problem for me, guys, is that "being dishonest" requires the specific intent to lie. If you just defend some dumb idea you have and you say some untrue, inconsistent, desperate shit... it's bad but in my book it's not dishonesty. I realize it's probably my personal views, but I stand by it.
@@kalinsimovski5081 yeah but the way he smirks and laughs every time Destiny call him out. Obviously that’s a coping mechanism every time he fucked up or when he was caught on a lie.

I can say as a Republican, Destiny is one of the few commentators I can watch cause he deals in facts all day. Whether I like hearing it or not, his takes are so on point I have to applaud his ability.

I know I'm late, but as a trans person, thanks Destiny. I hate my experience being weaponized to push narratives and I find it absolutely disgusting that anyone would conflate otherkin, or even non-medically induced transitions, with someone who simply feels like they're in the wrong body via dysphoria. It destroys the perspective people have of trans people and I always get thrown in with these crazies.

thank you for acknowledging that there's a legit subsection of people who are actually trans, and a bunch of others who are just crazy af and demanding everyone look at them so they can push whatever it is they want. This is one of the best debates I've seen in a while. Three hours of a literal corn cob man trying to admonish you.
Proof the simulation is real.
not a debate...more like an interview. "are u an asshole?, yeah...but are you an asshole?"
Go debate in the sense that someone commenting on this would be, "My case he's dead already! Stop the damn match!"
Destinys community is the only one ive seen that will actively disagree with his positions and not be ridiculed. Sure people will try and argue against it, but thats literally the point of online discourse.
Great point. I disagree with half of his positions but enjoy watching him work. He is a great debater.
And you can even find intellectually stimulating debates in his comment sections which is unusual these days.
@@TheWolfWon What do you disagree with him on? I don't watch Destiny a lot at all
I'm probably more on the right but I actually respect destiny for his integrity. He thinks for himself and sticks to his positions even if they're unpopular.
Definitely. Toxic is almost a synonym for disagreeable now.
@@judgedbytimeI mean if your disagreeable all the time and it turn any environment you show up in into a shitty place to be, it's pretty toxic. I don't dislike the guy, but he seems pretty unable to maintain relationships with anyone who isn't a chronically online toxic weirdo.

@@VA-gu1jq Thanks for pointing that out, seems auto correct messed up my meaning as I meant to say "literally" and I didn't even notice.
This turned out to be the “submit to the internet mob” “your not allowed to fight back” debate
If I was going to be charitable to the cob then he's saying that if you fight back you don't do it with a MOAB.
Escalation of force and all that. Destiny claims to be far tougher in regards to toxic environments and he also understands others are not like him. Since he knows others are more sensitive to this type of shit he should accept more moral responsibility to moderate his toxic behavior.
It's compounded with the fact destiny is good at mean spirited banter compared to others. There are ways he could defend himself that don't involve dragging a toxic and naive person way in over their head.
The Rittenhouse effect
@@RevenantRising You don't expect Destiny to bring this up about himself in a 1 v 1 debate aimed to win right? your criticism may be right but this wouldn't be the place for it.

In fairness it was pretty personal for both of them.

One day, holding oneself accountable for everything, both good and bad, and how they manage to cope with that will be the greater marker by which people will define each other..... Bruh that first cage match was so fucking perfect. Dylan’s reaction was priceless
Like if he wanted to speak more about what he feels is an appropriate level of aggression in response to something (which destiny already clarified is matching the level they come at him from), it could be a much more interesting conversion of "Do you think as a content creator you have at least a little bit more responsibility to be moderate in response?" or something other than "omg you think there is an appropriate level of trolling? i mean, i just cant bro"
In that case, the correct answer is indeed "I don't care what you think."

When Jake name dropped Vaush and Hasan as less toxic, wow.
Imagine coming in with such a slam dunk as, don't mock other people's suicide attempts on twitter, and somehow losing because you start talking about shit that has literally no relevance.
It's a sliding scale, and determining what level of rude behavior is actually harmful, and what level of harms we're willing to endure from "micro toxicity" is 'the argument'.
