    Im pleased with this appointment of Alex Neil, hes a proven manager who knows the challenges we face and he will do a great job for us .. and with him bringing in his own no2 whos hes worked with for years is a good thing.. a new approach not with Barrett Poking his head in ...good luck Gaffer welcome to the madhouse

    I’m hoping that Alex has had enough time to assess the ability of the squad, although he can only assess the ones that have played.
    It would have been nice if we could have had a few more days on the training pitch before this game, but it is what it is.
    The crowd are really going to have to play their part and get some pressure on the opposition right from the get go.
    Looking forward to the next couple of weeks to see how the squad develops

    I believe Alex Neil getting the job is progressive for us.He brings a dearth of experience with him. We now need stability, and im sure he,ll have an eye for decent youngsters to bring in over the coming months, which JB will back him on. So let's welcome him and let him get on with it.

    Preston lad was a great guest. Really enjoyed the conversation and feeling quite optimistic. Stoke shouldn’t be the benchmark.

    A potentially excellent appointment: despite being out of the game for nearly a year one would think that his stock is still high. A very direct and driven manager with a clear view on what he expects of his team(s). The reference to his PNE days is of interest as they were extremely good then and were very much a team that focussed on being on the front foot with players such as Hugill, Pearson, Brown, Johnson, Ledson, Barkhuizen etc...

    • @ThatMillwallPodcast
      @ThatMillwallPodcast  7 дней назад

      Agreed, it’s an exciting appointment with a lot of potential! His time at PNE shows what he’s capable of when he has the right squad and backing. That front-foot style you mentioned could be a great fit for Millwall if he can bring that same energy and vision to us. Let’s hope he can replicate that success and get the team firing! 💙⚽ What are your thoughts on how he’ll adapt to the current squad?

    I can see JB jr backing Neil he did Nisbet for Rowett, he brought in Tanganga on loan originally then backed the manager on signing Japhet and Joe Bryan on massive wages Azeez Ivanovic Jansen and Langstaff all cost money on permanent transfers Coburn & Wintle on loan Alex Neil will be backed

    • @ThatMillwallPodcast
      @ThatMillwallPodcast  7 дней назад +2

      Great points! JB Jr. has shown he’s willing to invest in the squad and back the manager when it matters. The signings of Nisbet, Tanganga, and others prove the ambition is there. If Alex Neil gets the same support, we could see some exciting times ahead. Let’s hope it all comes together on the pitch! COYL 🦁💙

    Loved Neil Harris but you will never see him tactically change it up anytime before at least the 70th minute. Would be nice to have someone in who can see it’s not working and change it up early.

    • @ThatMillwallPodcast
      @ThatMillwallPodcast  7 дней назад

      Appreciate your comment! Neil Harris is a legend for us, no doubt, but it's true his in-game management has always been a point of discussion. It's frustrating when you can see things aren't working early on, and you'd hope for a quicker response.

    The way the lions are performing at the moment Neil’s got a hard job and a lot to do millwall appears to play the same as the last few seasons Frustrating crap he’ll have to experiment but that’s if he’s got enough time to this season it could go tits up and we go down
