The grenadine tie is probably the most versatile tie any man can own. It can go well with dressy suits to the more casual sport coat and sweaters. The navy grenadine tie in particular is probably one of the most essential ties a man must own (it can even be the only tie in your wardrobe). It was even the favorite tie Sean Connery's James Bond, who is probably one the best dressed characters on screen
I would very much like to see you guys do a video on the recent rise of what has come to be known as the "Dark Academia" fashion craze that's been popping up a lot on social media. It's basically like a somber, moody preppy/ivy look inspired by the Silent Generation and Edwardian Era.
Okay well first off, the Silent Generation came several decades after the Edwardian Era. Second, the clothes of the 1900's through the 1920's were quite colourful and creative. It seems to me that "Dark Academia" just seems to be the new "Emo".
Preston, another informative and entertaining video. As a side note, you are a remarkable young man, classically handsome, articulate and mature beyond your years. I find it surprising that for a community committed to celebrating culture and clothing, some consider it appropriate to make 'fun' jibes at your expense. This is not okay, is not funny and is in fact bullying. The respect shown to others is the mark of a true gentleman.
Preston, your presentation skills and background work on a topic are just stunning. I wish You and GG many-many more videos coming. Also, this episode was visually very appealing, thank to the items shown and the high quality recording.
I really like the look of the grenadine ties. I need to get some. I recently bought a unlined textured silk tie that I really like. It has a conservative look to it. Great texture. Shantung's look nice as well.
Great looking ties! I really loved them. It's unique texture stands out completely no matter which color or design it may have. By the way, you truly are dressed for success Mr. Schlueter! Love your suit set outfit. You have great style and taste my friend!
I own a few grenadine ties, think they are much less formal than pure smooth silk ties. Your brown outfit looked well put together. Linen jackets I prefer to wear with no tie
Hello! Around 5:50 into the video, when describing differences between ties you showed us a picture of a woven tie of unusual shape. Would you point me in some direction so I could learn something about such ties? Thank you!
Unfortunately I didn’t find a garza fina like the one i wanted at Fort Belvedere, so i commissioned one at shibumi. Maybe you could increase your Range there, id Love to become a customer
I got my first real grenadine tie earlier this year. I prefer it’s visual interest over solid color smooth silk ties. It is also vastly superior to the “grenafaux” tie I had before. I’ll never go back to solid color smooth silk or grenafaux again.
Very good request! I think it's very important to keep the balance between dressing elegantly (as I assume, that's precisely what you aspire to), and dressing appropriately for your age and environment.
It's complicated. It really all depends on one's growth rate, what he is comfortable with, what his school allows, and what his budget is. Like many offices nowadays, this spans from anything from a sport shirt to a full suit and tie; it honestly depends on the individual's own circumstances.
As mentioned several times I need where to buy the items you talk about. Your talk about is very welcome but give US the chance to choose and buy after it. Also id de can rewind tour talk or put in stand by and then rewind or advance. Thank you + regards
I learn so much from these videos! Thank you. I have a question. When not wearing a tie. How do you store them. I have a few ties that I wear for work. The one's I don't wear I hang from a coat hanger. Is this the proper way or what to store them? Thank you.
Yes it is. Some say that you should roll 'em up first for about 24 hours but frankly, I've never had any problems with wrinkles not coming out etc. over the course of the last years when not hung up straight after untying them.
$135 for a tie, for now I'm going to have to pass on that. Although grenadine ties are absolutely beautiful, I love the blue and orange tie in this video.
Not unusual for grenadine ties. I usually see them for upward of $80. The faux ones are actually decent, so long as the colours aren't too vivid, as that makes their cheapness easier to detect :D.
In your text at 1.54 it is written that the name could come from Granada, Spain. Meaning the city in southern Spain and not the Island in the Caribbean that you indicate verbally. Love the video, just thought I would point that out.
It doesn't have to if you buy them used. And if you are comparing retail pricing - you can't compare a high quality tie with a super cheap suit. A good suit at over $1000 is very common.
I really like your articulate speech which easily understands with non-native English speakers

Preston, you look freaking great dude. Excellent coordination.

I second this! Sorta how to do the look the Gentleman's Gazette way, perhaps.

Very nice video. I would like to see videos about other tie materials, like linen, wool, cashmere so on...

Next we gotta have a shantung tie video. They're so distinct.

Nicely dressed Preston. Very elegant.

Very informative and pleasant presentation Preston!
Great video.I love my burgundy grenadine tie, as it goes well with almost all of my wardrobe.
11:13 what a great combo!
Great video, Preston. I own two grenadine ties (burgundy and navy). They wear great.
Never been much into the knitted tie look, but that burgundy and navy one looks very nice.
Comprehensive presentation, a pleasure!
My favorite tie, the grenadine. In fact, these days, aside from black tie, I only wear grenadine ties these days.
Marinella from Naples make very good silk ties.
Please do a review of abstract and artistic ties from the '50s through early '60s.
Thank you for the great video!
Who would dislike this video? A flip flop wearer probably
Hello! Around 5:50 into the video, when describing differences between ties you showed us a picture of a woven tie of unusual shape. Would you point me in some direction so I could learn something about such ties? Thank you!
The woven tie? That's your pretty standard shape for a knit tie. They're great to wear.
My favorite material for ties is cashmere.
Unfortunately I didn’t find a garza fina like the one i wanted at Fort Belvedere, so i commissioned one at shibumi. Maybe you could increase your Range there, id Love to become a customer
SHIBUMI, SHIBUMI, SHIBUMI
THE TIE THAT'S HARD TO KNOT
SHIBUMI, SHIBUMI, SHIBUMI
BUT YOU CAN WEAR A LOT

The texture makes them so much nicer.
My favourite tie is a woolen tie with four different patterns - different one with each tying
Very helpful - thanks Preston!
Can we get a look into how fort belvedere products are made? Would be interested to have a look how the products are made..
hi, what is a jacquard tie then?
I swear, everytime I see this in my recommendation I read it as "grenade ties."
Please make a video for school going teens......extremly required

Could you recommend some shops with budgetary accessories but still quality?
Preston do they make Grenadine Bow Ties can U do a video on it Please ASAP Next
Great review 👏👏👏 It really does look good but me personally not quite my sense of style.
As mentioned several times I need where to buy the items you talk about. Your talk about is very welcome but give US the chance to choose and buy after it. Also id de can rewind tour talk or put in stand by and then rewind or advance.

Check the description
They actually say that they sell them in their online shop at the end of the video.
@@gray_mckay not see it or find it during the speech.

What do you think about online ties?
Good video brother

Try buying them from Charles Tyrwhitt on sale, or on eBay. There's no need to pay full retail.
@@countalma9800 eBay may sell fakes at times.
Prefer smooth silk ties...
can i wear a grenadine tie to a job interview ?
i cant help but associate Preston with the dork dad from "Back to the Future"
Does it make you feel good making comments like that...more of a man, more of a gentleman?
Are you the voice talent for Hank Hill?!
much too young 🤣🤣he was probably a baby when that show came on the air
First gentleman commenting!!
That tie you are wearing here, Preston is very becoming.

Imagine your tie costing more than your suit

If Sheldon got into fashion
