Worked for me however i had the issue where it did not show the software updated failed screen, i ran through process once which i left overnight and never finished, when i turned my phone back on it came up with the software error. One thing to note is to make sure you have the correct cable to connect your phone to your PC as when it was failing I tired a different cable and worked first time. How did that happen? loose cable? If your phone gets disconnected in the middle of factory reset it should not be an issue, I also had a situation where the phone got disconnected during a factory reset, all you need to do is do the entire procedure all over again and it should be fine. Can you recharge the battery? try with a different USB cable and try on a different computer? If nothing is working then you will need to take the phone to Sony service centre.

Solved! I had the same problem - software repair failed. Tried several times. Then i waited one day, connected to the computer and it worked. Just let it be on it own until it calms down it's emotions xD

Leave it plugged into the charger for a couple of hours, otherwise you'll need to take it for repairs, because there is really nothing that can be done if the phone doesn't turn on.
