I installed 1000 watts of solar panels and 3 x200hr lithium batteries, a MPPT 100amp charge controller and a 5500 watt sine wave invertor. Runs my current 5th wheel great boondocking in perpetuum. I just cannot run both AC units at the same time, but are fine running one at a time. Both TVs, LED lighting, microwave, etc can all run fine.
Hey just found your free plane video and checked this one out straight away all 4 one after another and just wanted to say wow your work ethic, focus, skill and ingenuity for problem solving is insane anyway thanks
Hey Trent ! Thank you for sharing and bring so motivating….. I love doing this kind of stuff and I appreciate you dropping in and joining in the adventure 👍🏼
Hearing those "3 stages" of a project was really really cool. If someone like you goes through that everyone must, i'll keep that in mind next time I'm ready to throw my hands up.
My family and I once took our RV to the Green Lane State Park / Reservoir. It was a great time. Beautiful sights and some great trails out that way! Not too far from you in Chester County too.
Just a tip. There are really good foodgrade silicone sealants that work great on trims and covings as an adhesive, no tacks or screws required. Sikaflex ms is what I use. Super strong, flexible and easily removed with a blade if needed.
make sure you reseal the roof. Dicor self-leveling works great. RVs are notorious for leaky roofs. I inspect mine every 2 years. And seal all the lights while you're at it. Any place where just a little water can penetrate destroys a product made of wood.
I'm always fascinated by the size of North American RVs compared to European RVs.... my parents and myself travelled all over Europe when I was young and their car and rv would probably easily fit inside your RV. Very cool series. Very interesting channel!
Looks like it turned out really great! My two cents would be to cover it when not in use to help guard against future moisture damage, and get some ultrasonic rodent things. They're a horrible terror here in MN, especially in the winter months. More slides = more entrances heh.
You need to find the leaks and repair them, if you were going to leave that thing on your property get it up and do a hot tar roof over the whole top and call it a job well done
Would of been a good time to look inside while the unit was in the truck wash to see if the unit has any leaks, if nothing from the pressure washer then your truck RV will go though anything as long as not blown over. Good to see a what its like to live with episode, the pros and cons of ownership, and issues with getting onto sites etc…
Thank you ! We’ll get a few of the items done we didn’t get to and maybe do a live walk around to show the finished product and explain the final cost of it all 👍🏼
Please Jason! The 401 project is so badass but a quick épisode showing the (awesome) end result would be soooo cool! Oh, and one for the yacht project as well!!! 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
This might be late, but from my experince in remodling a RV I have found that sometimes the cabinets are attached to the walls from the outside in before they put the skin on. Just FYI.
I actually had a Heating and Air guy come out and solder in a charging port for what looks like the same unit as yours. He charged it and it has been working great! I was going to buy the self taping kind from amazon and he recommended against it. He said that most of them fail fairly quickly. Great videos and I would like to see the cost breakdown. I have 2 slideouts that have started doing the same.
I’m betting that’s a much better way to service these units. I’ll likely do the same. Thank you for the tip ! Also thank you for spending some time with us here on the channel !
Hello my name is James Keene pleased to meet you John Keener 😀 at 81 it's the first time I ever seen a name close to mine. I live in Southwest AZ stay healthy! And iam sorry I didn't get your name, dam nice VIDEO 👍and if anyone said anything about your job tell them that they can come over and make it right if they think they can do better 🖕😭😁
I dunno about that one but my horse trailer is aluminum exterior with painted finish and purple power works awesome on it and get rid of the black streaks. Spray on low pressure, scrub with a soft brush lightly and high pressure rinse. Looks like new but yeah I see a truck wash I will give them a try. I saw some of the fixtures. One of the best upgrades you can do is convert all the fixtures to LED. Changes the entire look and its cheap.
Great content, really enjoy the videos and the work you’re doing! It’s pretty inspiring in terms of things I want to do as well but I know I’ll have so much figuring out to do on it!
Hahaha.. I remember the first hitch on with my very first 5th wheel… with a 5the wheel open tailgate and knowing my trailers perfect height it takes 35 seconds to hook on and lift the front jacks.. I certainly don’t drop the pin on the camper into the hitch on the truck.. I leave it down just a bit, let the truck squat a bit hooking on… Love the 4 ton truck, make a great Trailer Hauler
Is it an RV? Is it a vehicle? The truck pulling it is a vehicle. I think it is a trailer. It's a Recreational Trailer. Maybe it's a Motored Home. Big enough to live in for sure.
Would love to get the final video of the cost breakdown of this entire build. Seems like you get onto the next project and forget to finish the series of the previous one. Good content though.
I would love a side out RV, I think it's a brilliant idea to add more space to move around. Normal RV's are too cramped most times and smaller caravans you can tow yourself are just TOO small. But I live in the UK and our roads are not really suitable for such big vehicles. There are too many roads, especially out in the countryside, that are too small for something even the size of a medium truck.
Part 5 please! Sorry of Iissed it, but did you ever determine a root cause behind the rot? If I were to wager a guess, the water kicked up while traveling seeped into the cracks underneath then festered. Thanks!
Try building an Experimental Aircraft! 7 YEARS from start to 'finish.' =) I have learned that '80/20' is a good way to estimate a project. 20% of the time does the job for 80% of the build. Then 80% of the time is needed... for the last 20%. GREAT series! Looking forward to the next series! =)
Excellent job! I noticed one of the slide outs seemed to have a propane fireplace on it. I was wondering what the hookup to the propane tank was on that? That is to say, is it just a rubber propane hose that flexes appropriately as the slide moves in and out or something more elaborate? Thanks.
so how much do you think you spent on this in upgrades and repairs and did you ever find out where the leak was coming from that lead to the water damage of the floors?
Great videos. I 've gone thru all of your videos after finding the 401. I'm wondering if the bump out flooring rot is due to the lack of mud flaps on the 5th wheel. Driving in the rain could sling up in water in unsuspected areas. Kind Regards, Craig
Instead of the aerial on top put a satellite dish that automatically finds the satellites and connect that up to your tv's they work really great in Aus.
"I don't have anything to pull this with..." I believe is what I heard. Did you just go buy a Chevy to go haul that thing? That's.... kinda awesome lol
Hi there. How did the plank floor hold up while taking it to the lake n back? I want to change the carpet in my slides. Do uou think I will need trusses n jacks to do it?
Shouldn't you have some larger planks of wood or something to balance the stands and widen the foot print in soft soil? I'm not being critical, I'm just asking.
Love the series man.! Keep it up. Also holy sh*t gas is cheap. I did a Quick math 1.07$ for 1 liter. Over here in the netherlands its 1.70€ so about 1.93$ for 1 liter of diesel fuel
I was hoping to see that. I think this guy is just going flat out on other projects he's passionate about. Hopefully he'll circle back one day to this one as I'd love to see it all done. Its such an incredible job from where I'm sitting so really deserves that final part.
Like a few others the Cessna video popped up after watching another RUclipsr I have followed for years, ( Mustie1), also, a few of your channels you sub to are ones I have been following for years. I checked your videos and have been binge watching them since, luckily you are fairly new and don't have many out yet so I won't get the wife too mad sitting here trying to catch up on 100 videos all day. 😀 On another note, is this your first channel with RUclips? The reason I ask is you have (since your first video) seemed like you are an experienced RUclipsr or at least spent time in front of cameras before, editing is spot on also. Anyway, not being nosy, just curious, you have done great considering you are only 5 months into this and have 118 K subs already, that says a lot. Love the content so far,I enjoy watching anything mechanical being brought back to life, renovation type videos like the RV and real people just being real, no fake drama to get views, I am pretty sure I'll be here when you hit 1 million. I also help support a couple of channels through Patreon, it might be something you could look into, I can't imagine the Cessna is going to be a cheap fix if you do pursue it and some of us enjoy helping you folks out, I'm pretty sure a lot of these projects can get expensive. Have a great New Year, hope it brings you many more subscribers.
What did you have to do to get your truck setup for a 5th wheel? Did you need to overhaul the suspension and mod it really bad? Do you plan on using the international for this ?
Does anyone know how wide that behemoth is? (folded in of course) The maximum width of anything on the road here in Sweden is 8,5 ft. Wider than that there's paperwork, warning signs on the transport and sometimes a "pilot". A lot of work for a fishing trip with the guys over the weekend. 😂
Never use a sidewall max pressure to tell you what to air it up to. Use the owners manual or RV tire pressure sticker. Appropriate tire pressure is based off the weight of the vehicle.
Going near max PSI in a tire is not a great idea. Example your vehicle PSI max will say 60 but manufacturer spec is 32PSI. I’d check the trailers recommended
You have obviously never had large trailers or heavy haul trucks. You have to use the load spec of the tire and the tire chart. The manufacturer spec only applies to the origional tires
Ew!!! 6:36 is hideously ugly!! I love wooden accents and love the look of various woods together but that was hideously ugly. You used the woods in the wrong arrangement
We need more videos of the rv
Please do part 5!
That's Carlisle. LOL! I could have come out and said hi while you were waiting. That's a VERY popular truck wash because there's no others close.
I think solar panels would be great on the RV with battery storage in the generator space.
I'm going to get a few batteries on mine and install solar as well.
I installed 1000 watts of solar panels and 3 x200hr lithium batteries, a MPPT 100amp charge controller and a 5500 watt sine wave invertor. Runs my current 5th wheel great boondocking in perpetuum. Every single project 🤦🏻😂🤣
We always go back for more though !
Love this series. Would love to see a few more videos of the finished project and/or any new upgrades. 🤘🏼

Your project truck would be the perfect thing to modify to drag your RV with
make sure you reseal the roof. Dicor self-leveling works great. RVs are notorious for leaky roofs. I inspect mine every 2 years. And seal all the lights while you're at it. Any place where just a little water can penetrate destroys a product made of wood.
6:33 I'm in love with that wall , great job 👍
It's looking awesome Jason. Awesome video...
Wow.....that really is good investment for $12k. Well done.
I'm always fascinated by the size of North American RVs compared to European RVs.... my parents and myself travelled all over Europe when I was young and their car and rv would probably easily fit inside your RV. Very cool series. Very interesting channel!
Thank you !
I agree 100% Had some awesome trips in some much smaller rv’s
Probably has a lot to do with the size of roads...
I used to live in mine on jobsites for work. Mines a 40ft montego bay with 3 slides
At Blue Beacon try the Rain X spray . It will keep the clean shine every time it rains.
Best upgrade I've ever done is load range G tires. You can get them from discount tire or goodyear.
Looks like it turned out really great! My two cents would be to cover it when not in use to help guard against future moisture damage, and get some ultrasonic rodent things. They're a horrible terror here in MN, especially in the winter months. More slides = more entrances heh.

You did an awesome job on the RV, well done.
Thank you Raymond 👍🏼
Turned out great. Great video series. Hope you continue making content.
I am dying to hear this cost breakdown but I would’ve forgotten too so can’t blame you. Good shit on this one! Keep it up!
Thank you ! We’ll get a few of the items done we didn’t get to and maybe do a live walk around to show the finished product and explain the final cost of it all 👍🏼

The RV episode 1 was my first time watching you work I’m hooked and can not want to binge watch the rest of your content thank you
Awesome Wayne ! We’re glad you found us….

I'm still waiting on the cost vs profit breakdown. Win, or lose? we all wanna know . thank you for all of the videos you put out
Day 345! You have a LOT of patience! Good on ya.
Great content, really enjoy the videos and the work you’re doing! It’s pretty inspiring in terms of things I want to do as well but I know I’ll have so much figuring out to do on it!

Love the 4 ton truck, make a great Trailer Hauler
The amount of length and weight americans can pull with with their trucks on normal drivers licenses is absolutely astounding.
Yeap, I am jealous of the relaxed rules!
Great videos, please do the price breakdown!

The fireplace is actually an electric one. It actually looks pretty real when it’s on.
My fridge is in my super slide and uses a rubber hose supported by a plastic support that folds when the slide moves
I want the Austin!
so how much do you think you spent on this in upgrades and repairs and did you ever find out where the leak was coming from that lead to the water damage of the floors?
Hey Kevin
We ended up sealing everything. Windows, roof seams etc…. I still have to look back and see how much I spent on it.
Excellent video series. What's the latest on the RV? How are things going with it?
I support everything you do, keep up the hard work
Thank you Nic !
Great videos. I 've gone thru all of your videos after finding the 401. I'm wondering if the bump out flooring rot is due to the lack of mud flaps on the 5th wheel.

Good job, also the 3 stages of a project are , Money Money , Money, Time, Things not going as planned, More money
25.78 gallon (97.5 liter) for 100 USD approximately 1 USD/liter that is cheap! Here in Sweden (and the rest of Europe too) is the price the double...
I’m loving this man. O yeah tell people to like the videos lol.
Instead of the aerial on top put a satellite dish that automatically finds the satellites and connect that up to your tv's they work really great in Aus.
Such amazing work!

What brand of portable tools do you use
Looks like Milwaukee Tool...
11:01 It was at this moment he realized....he f*@ked up.
Did you ever do a leak test to find out WHY the floors rotted away??? 🤔😉
Where about in pa are you located ? I’m in the Allentown area
I want the AUSTIN!
To answer the question project that was over my head and wanted to walk away mine was a painting of a temple in Petra
Any chance on restoring an electric wheelchair or a golf cart for a disabled person please

It’s 102 inches wide with the sides pulled in. That’s max width over here in the states.
I want the Austin
It's a 5th wheel camper. ;)
Where is part 5???
👍🏼
Wow 0,90 Euro 1 l fuel. 1,69 Euro here in Germany atm.
remember to poison the mold that it doesn't grow and poison you anymore.

Dont like the double tape idea, lots of vibration and heat in a RV....
TimberChick? Chic, French word pronounced Sheek, meaning smart, stylish. Americans!
