Some people are raving about BMW quality. But here in the North, Toyota has proved to be the best quality overall. It's really not the amount of hp, but every day realibility. And I admit the fact even though I've never owned a Toyota.
I drive an E46 320D with drilled Brembo discs and EBC Black Stuff pads and it has never failed me, even in emergency stops! The discs are still holding up after 100k+ Km! - Just as a suggestion for the M3 owner.
PS4S tyres and AWD + less 200KG... it's pretty obvious which is going to be quicker off the mark. Plus I would hazard a bet that this M3 isn't actually pushing anywhere near 343BHP and 365Nm still.

Now it has changed again (for some time already...), and people must accept that older cars are most of the time slower with the same base numbers. But you CAN compare them, that is even the whole point of doing races.

Nope, the f series looks nicer. The downturned headlights look shit on the e46. The facelift e46 04-06 looks better but they never did it with the m3 unfortunately.
I have bit more powerful cars in my m3..so there's 2 options..1st the Gr yaris is tuned or 2nd (most possible) that m3 is dead in performance....you can easily understand this from the story that the m3 runs different types of tires in both axles
I used to drive e46 M3 CSL and it was such a fun car to drive. Sound just everything was awesome. Wish I can own one again. But one part I did not like was SMG but still it was great.

Some people are raving about BMW quality. But here in the North, Toyota has proved to be the best quality overall. It's really not the amount of hp, but every day realibility. And I admit the fact even though I've never owned a Toyota.

I drive an E46 320D with drilled Brembo discs and EBC Black Stuff pads and it has never failed me, even in emergency stops! The discs are still holding up after 100k+ Km! - Just as a suggestion for the M3 owner.

@@denisdeari1 A car has a purpose, and you can compare any car in the world if it is the best for this purpose. Sometimes it's a question of preferences, like when we talk about the looks of a car. But speed can be compared, and it is fair to do so. For some in the 90s, older cars were faster (at least in europe) thx to newer regulations. Now it has changed again (for some time already...), and people must accept that older cars are most of the time slower with the same base numbers. But you CAN compare them, that is even the whole point of doing races.

@@AH-jf9ge As said, in the end it depends on what you want. But it is fair to compare a car based on your needs, regardless of its age. In fact, I think the BWM is doing fine in this test, especially when you consider that is way cheaper (as a used car).
But Denis Deari said you can not compare these cars because of the age difference, and I think that is now true.
2nd gear @30 & 3rd @50 are really bad starting points for n/a cars.
2nd gear @45-50 would be much better for the E46

@@sashoxxx Wouldnt make much of a difference for the Yaris cause of gearing & the torque curve of that engine, meanwhile the E46 M3 in 2nd gear @30 mph is like 4k rpm, @50 on the other hand is like 6,5k-7k, that's where the music starts in the S54.

13.2 is amazing for a 100k + mileage e46 m3... I highly doubt it's making peak factory HP (343) although superior driving skills can offset that.
ALL cars lose BHP when times goes by and that´s probably why the aging M3 loses despite the approx. "100 BHP" advantage.
The E46 is probably the best M3 ever made. Yeah the E30 is iconic and I love it too but I'd rather have an E46

Sorry I call bullshit on these 1/4 mile times. In Australia the Yaris doesn't have the ppf and the best time I've seen is 12.9. IE the non ppf cars are faster. So how is Matt doing 12.5?

The downturned headlights look shit on the e46. The facelift e46 04-06 looks better but they never did it with the m3 unfortunately.

I have bit more powerful cars in my m3..so there's 2 options..1st the Gr yaris is tuned or 2nd (most possible) that m3 is dead in performance....you can easily understand this from the story that the m3 runs different types of tires in both axles
