Dat proces is helaas al begonnen dus de geweldige uitzichten die ik je tot nu toe heb laten zien vanuit deze cabines zullen zeldzaam gaan worden. Rijd vandaag nog maar een keertje mee en geniet! Dat wissel voor woerden is bij de werkzaamheden bij oudewater kapot gegaan. Als het goed is wordt die vandaag gerepareerd.
Aha, ik ben benieuwd!
De wissel is gerepareerd!! Het heeft een paar weken geduurd, maar alles rijdt weer door de twee middensporen! Was wel leuk om elke avond als ik naar huis ging een DDZ of een koploper met 80 langs me te zien sjezen
Voor de vraag wanneer deze in gebruik genomen is: van wat ik weet zijn de wissels ergens in het weekend van 17/18 feb gerepareerd en 19 feb reden ze allemaal weer als normaal. 15/16 feb reden ze nog over spoor 5

Mijn favoriete treinen, die Koplopers! Heb er veel in gezeten toen ik in Rotterdam studeerde. Heel leuk om datzelfde traject nu eens vanuit de positie van de machinist te zien. En ik snap het allemaal wel: oud materieel, oplopende onderhoudskosten, en (vooral vermoed ik) aantal zitplaatsen per strekkende meter. Maar toch: een fijnere trein dan deze is er niet!

I hope they preserve a few sets and clean them up like new for nostalgia sake. Always sorry to see older train sets replaced. Maybe send them to the museums and use them for fan trips.

Het valt mij op dat de treinen in Europa weinig de toeter gebruiken. Hier in Amerika toeteren ze zich suf. Goeie video. 👍🏻

These trains provide the best views for us to see the rails & the areas around them. It would seem these trains would also provide more safety for the drivers. I hate that these trains are being decommissioned because of this. Thanks for the view & great video.
Weer een super mooie video meester !!
Met de meest eenvoudige techniek die er is. Wat hebben we in ons vuistje gelachen destijds tijdens de bouw van deze treinen in Krefeld. De ene na de andere nieuwe hightech ICE 2, van de concurrent die er ook produceerde, kwam terug met storingen of defecten kort na inbedrijf name. Bij ons verliet de trein de fabriek om nooit meer terug te keren. 😉Wel gaat deze ICM relatief erg vroeg uit bedrijf. De bedoeling was levenslang en dat houdt technisch in: 50 jaar. En dat gaat hij met het besluit van NS niet halen. Dat is wel erg jammer want dat zou hij makkelijk halen.
Enorm jammer! Ik vind de ICMm's echt enorm iconische comfortabele treinen, en er zitten fantastische stoelen in.
@@alex2143 Vooral de oude rode zetels in de 1e klasse. 😊En het tijdperk waar de ramen nog open konden tijdens de rit. Een fantastisch geluid en een verkoelende wind door de trein. Zelfs de machinist kon zijn ramen openen. Moest wel de hendel hiervoor vasthouden. Zodra hij deze losliet als hij plaatsnam op zijn stoel, sloot het raam d.m.v. 2 schokdempers. Was ook wel noodzaak deze beveiliging; met open ramen door een tunnel had niet gekund. Het paste gewoon weg niet. Te breed. 😄
Leuk om te horen! Als het net zo gaat als met de mat64 blijft de icm nog wel een jaartje of 10 :-)
Blijkbaar weet jij veel over de icm. Heb jij enig idee welk stelnummer de casco kopbak van de icm die tentoon werd gesteld bij Treinen door de Tijd in 1989 heeft gekregen?

😊zag een ooievaars nest op 4:00 rechts.bij koekange zijn er 23 stuks,😅
Ik heb een 1:160 Minitrix model van een driedelige Koploper, waarschijnlijk één van slechts een handjevol hier in de VS. Samen met mijn hondekoppen mijn favoriete modellen. Bedankt voor een mooie rit.

Groete, you have amazing trains over there! I see you went through Schiedam, I remember going to that lovely town when I was a young seaman, also to Vlissingen & Rotterdam of course. (I am Scottish born) Been in OZ since 1965.
Vlak na vertrek bij Rotterdam Centraal gaat deze lijn dwars door de dierentuin (Blijdorp) heen. Ik vind het altijd erg grappig dat langs het pad dat onder de spoorbrug door loopt dezelfde bordjes staan als bij de dierenverblijven met info en foto's van de verschillende treinen die er voorbij komen.
Dit is ook de enige spoorlijn in Nederland waar je vanuit de trein Giraffen kan spotten 😁

Awesome footage and a wonderful, a little oldstyle looking train. Is there a door in front of the locomotive under the drivers cab? 367 Kwh for a 55,5 km journey seems to be very little compared to the trainlength and weight.
Yes, passengers could walk to a coupled train set but that functionality has been removed.
So what will replace the ICM. Both the DDZ and VIRM are getting up in age and the Sprinter group are meant for stopping service. The only new intercity train coming on line, that I am aware of, is the ICNG and it is replacing the locomotive hauled IC trains.
ICNG will replace the ICMm units and his twin grand brother ICRm coaches.

I always loved these trains while traveling in them. My biggest regret is that I never walked through the pre-refit passthru when it was still possible because I was too young and had no idea I'd be interested in having had that silly little experience. They were permanently sealed off by the time I wanted to go through one once on my way to find a decent toilet. 😢

Mooi! Het treinmodel ICMm is Het lekkerste, het knapste, het mooiste en ... het geilste treinmodel ooit van de Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS), omdat de bulk op zijn kop op een kuifje lijkt. Maar VIRM van 87-reeks en de 60 nieuwe dubbeldekstreinen van CAF, die vanaf 2028 zullen verschijnen, zijn ook even lekker als ICMm.
Wat vind jij van de onsamenhangendheid van die halve dubbeldekker van caf? Had dat niet mooier gekund?
@@CabviewHolland Gemiste kans om de styling van die 'split-levels' niet aan Pininfarina uit te besteden. Kijk maar naar de SBB 460 locomotieven om te zien hoe een beetje styling een 'blokkedoos'-lokomotief tot iets moois omtovert...

Wat ik me al heel lang afvraag..: Is het tegenwoordig nog nodig om echt op de seinen te letten; de fysieke lichtgevende seinen op palen? Of hebben jullie een digitale weergave van het laatste of volgende sein in de cabine die betrouwbaar is?
Jazeker, we hebben geen indicatie in de cabine van de seinen buiten. Het moderne(re) beveiligingssysteem ERTMS werkt wel zonder seinen buiten, maar dit is slechts op een klein aantal trajecten geïnstalleerd.

Nice Vid! Do i see this right: you accelerate to 140 kmh and then let your Koploper roll till its at about 100 kmh. Does that have to do with saving energy or is the high Ampere amount the problem (if i calculated right full acceleration should be pulling about 2000 Ampere)? Is that also the reason for having double lines in the overhead supply?
Yes, double line for extra power. Coasting is possible when on time, using up recovery time and saving energy.

At Woerden, track is out of service because of a defect point/switch.
For example at 9:36 both red & green signals seem to slowly fade down & up in brightness. I also saw it at other spots. Are they really like that (slowly blinking) or it some kind of camera artifact?
That is due to the difference in refreshrate of the signal's led and the framerate of the camera. Except for the left signal at 31:07, which is failing.
Rusty rails at Woerden? I suspect the beancounter who decided that the maintainance costs of the sidings at Oudewater could be saved by their removal also decided that, by running the non-stop services through Woerden platform track, savings could be made by lifting the now-rusty track. Just waiting now for the demolition squads to arrive.
They must also be working on implementing monorails, saving another 50%..
I don't know how often you have conveyed me between the two stations in Gouda, but this is the 1st time I have been aware of those posts alongside the track with the coloured 'panels'. I worked out that they represent the visible light spectrum, but what is their real purpose? Can anyone clue me in?
I cannot find anything about it, so I guess it is just 90's 'art'..

We love storks, they bring babies..
Als het zo uitrekent dat de spoorlijn Rotterdam Centraal (CS)-Gouda tot in de jaren 70 geen tussen kenden als de lijn eind 1800 gebouwd is en rond de 40e jaren bovenleiding kreeg, wel bijzonder.
Bij Gouda was vroeger maar 1 spoorburg (zonder bovenleiding op de brug) waar richting Den Haag/Rotterdam en 1 spoor voor Alphen was.
En bij Woerden weet ik ook nog dat er maar 3 sporen waren en ook weer 3 sporen (2 voor het doorgaans verkeer en 1 voor Leiden en bij Harmelen 2 sporen tot aan Utrecht, en de treinen naar Breukelen moesten over de door gaande sporen rijden en uit aansluiten.
Toen was Terweide en Leidserijn nog geen eens in aanbouw.
Wat was dat een tijd als ik zo nadenk.
Vraagje: heb je al je ERMTS bewijs aan gehaald om BV op de HSL mag gaan rijden? of ben je daar al mee bezig?.
In amf hebben we nog geen diensten op ertms-treinen, dus ik ben daar nog niet voor opgeleid.
Je bewering klopt niet helemaal. Er waren voor 1970 wel degelijk tussenstations tussen Rotterdam en Gouda: Capelle vanaf 1855 en Nieuwerkerk vanaf 1909. Die stations lagen niet aan de huidige lijn, maar aan het oorspronkelijke tracé vanaf Rotterdam Maas. Ze zijn in 1935 voor reizigersverkeer gesloten, maar Nieuwerkerk bleef voor goederenverkeer open tot 1970.

I have three favourite trains, but not ranked, because they are all #1 in looks and presence. The ICM, Koploper, is one of them, naturally, an imposing, confident looking train, with a great personality. The TGV, looks fast just sitting still, yet delivers in barrow-loads, and is really safe. All hail the Jacobs Bogies for the safety factor. And, finally, but not least, the British Class 180, built by Alstom. Simply the best looking train that has run on the British network. It looks especially smart in the black, with orange horizontal striping, of Grand Central Railways. The trains run by Hull Trains were insulted, in the extreme, by being replaced by the rubbish Hitachi 802, amongst the very ugly trains, like the Azumas.
But rising above them all, are the champions, the heroes, the ICM, the TGV, and the Class 180.
What is the difference between a high speed rail and just the regular ones ?

Right as you leave a 0.6km the yellow goes green and then the green slowly fades to black for a couple of seconds and then slowly comes back to green.
In the distance on the left hand side the three red lights fade exactly the same.
It might just be the refresh rate.

@@fritsschouten507 This is due to the difference in refresh rate of the LED lamp (50Hz) and the framerate of the video (30 Hz). The left signal at 31:02 wàs flickering, like defect LEDs usually do.
SInds wanneer hebben sommige koplopers een digitale ATB bel (5:24). Als het digitaal is want het klinkt zo modern in vergelijking met het klassieke tring geluid.

Volgens mij is dit snerpende en veel te luide elektronische systeem gekomen nadat iemand de oorspronkelijke analoge bel had gesaboteerd: stukje papier gepropt tussen bel en hamertje.

Zat een keer in de trein naar Gouda en toen konden we niet verder door een wisselstoring, toen werd ik nieuwsgierig welke wissel het was dus toen kwam ik al die namen tegen : )

This is pretty bad HDR … the whites are completely crushed out the front windscreen at 1:03 … is this just upmapped SDR? You can upmap it with a good LUT but you should try to use a source with low exposure where the blacks are a little crushed but the whites are detailed.
That shot is upmapped but contrast in that situation will be even too much for hdr: the cab is dark, side windows tinted and the train is standing under the station roof. I focussed on the interior.
I love these trips. Since my stroke, this is my only of getting about. I am banned from buses, London Underground and all surface trains, because my mobility car is 2 cms too long, because it has anti-tip safety wheels on the back of the chassis, so now I can't go anywhere. Nasty English.
What a shame that these magnificent workhorses are coming to the end of their useful life. They can still show a clean pair of heels to their younger stablemates. They will be much missed by afficionados of Dutch Railways.

Sure there are, if caught they get a “taakstraf”, cleaning the park or something like that . The point is to not get caught. Besides we here think there’s more important stuff to go after for the police

What's funny is that all the other Dutch drivers I watch, don't have a members section, actually they are all against it. Yet this channel is trying to get money out of you. Such a shame some are selling outs. I watch like 5 or 6 Dutch drivers and your the only one who charges for membership. Think I might unsubscribe from this channel now.
