No, this is not what you want to get if you're going small. This case is massive compared to the mini-itx cases. Try an InWin A1. That is something awesome.
The new 3080 is apparantly really quiet in many of the new boards. aircooling for cpu has been pretty good for ages. In other words, you can build a system like this, with similar or better specs, that runs quietly, for less money and maintenance. And if you look around you can find cases that are similar in size to this one and maybe even less space.

you can be sure if a computer company says it "starts at this price" then if you want components that aren't outdated you're going to be spending 3-4x that much.

Certainly be interesting heat dissipation wise with the 3k's plopped in there - then the custom water block, won't be until next year I'd say for that option.

@Patrick B Maingear's site says they will do upgrades for you, but I think I remember it said there is a cost if it's water cooled. They'll be responsible for finding an appropriate water block for the new GPU, removing your old card, and adding in the new one. Double-check the site or fill out their support form or call them and ask to be sure, as I may have interpreted/remembered their site incorrectly. But if they do have this option, that's what I would use for a system like this.

Yeah, what does that even mean? Servers don't use any special steel, because who cares about that in a rack?
Kinda like "Aircraft-Grade Aluminum." I deal with aircraft maintenance very often. The alloy needed changes from all sorts of variables
@@anlumo1 it's especially funny since servers are usually made from the cheapest and worst steel that you can imagine.
I literally just bought a maingear pc and im super happy with it. and their support is the best and fastest ive ever dealt with. I started a chat and within 5 mins i got a CALL ON MY PHONE, not just a chat or chatbot.
that alone is worth the premium i paid to have them build me a pc.

@@jamesmccann5644 that is not entirely correct especially because some people doesn't have the same "common sense", so it is always good to include instructions (even though sometimes they still ignore it)

I recently ordered one of these with a Ryzen 3900XT and GeForce RTX 3080. I chose clear hardline tubing with chrome fittings and white coolant. I can't wait for it to arrive! I am excited! I feel like a childhood fantasy is becoming reality or something...
I will never need a prebuilt PC, but ever since your LInum TI secret shopper customer service review I've been a maingear fan.

Similar to my experience the first time I decided to really spend some money on the cooling system in my PC, as opposed to throwing in the parts with included case fans. Especially when the fans are linked to water temp, it's a weird experience where the PC barely changes sound under full load and ramps up/down verrry slowly.
its crazy i used to pass their shop everyday. their shop is probably less then 25% the size of linus's studio. Main gear is legit a small operation and the stuff they make is always so top notch.

I have a system like that, just older hard inside. Pretty much I have disassembled it once in six years, normally is just blow dust once a year with canned air and add a little water to the reservoir and you are done. The hardest part of all is draining the system if you made the loop without considering a draining port, for that much money I hope they did include a easy draining point.
You would probably spec it before buying.
I didn't check but I presume their RAM upgrade pricing isn't as insane as Apple's

I guess 5 II is better since it's a more manageable size & has 120Hz if you need it (but I'm still a bit skeptical about the impact on battery life, they could make it work since it's only 1080p & last year's 5 also had really good battery life for its specs)
Really love Sony (for not bucking to the trend of those hideous notches & punch holes & reversing course by bringing back the HP jack & wireless charging in the 1II)

Cooling is FANtastic.
I really wonder how many of these things they actually sell. I've been machining for ~10 years and have my own shop...there's no way in hell the actual complexity of that design and machining/painting is ~3000-4000 dollar worth. Especially if you've got a CNC that's basically a few days in CAD straight to the CNC and then to the workbench for assembly...and that's a one off. Maybe I should start selling my vertical double slot mini-rack style cases for two machines/one box for ATX form factor, I've got custom engineered/machined latches, simulated ducting for optimal air flow, etc...maybe I could get a couple grand a case cranking those out daily.
