My brother and I would play this game when we were little. I'm 30 years old now and when I hear it, just like the old Zelda and Mario games, it brings a slight sadness to me. Memory of a simple time when I had no idea that it would bring such strong emotions many years later. A time that I will never get to live again... A reminder that I should revel in the present moment and know, today will have the same effect many years down the road in the future. Thanks for the upload dude.
Same thing, and a lot of these games, helped my brother and I get better with English (we had moved from Germany in the mid/late 80's). Lots of great memories, especially getting up at 5am with my bro on Sat, playing this a bit, then going out to play kickball lol.
omg, these soundtracks made me cry...i was 9 at the time, I grew up with Nintendo!!! Thank you for sharing this. Those dislikes are those who lived in the 2000 and they knew nothing like 8-bit system we used to have! Boo!
This very well may be the best video game music of the 8 bit era. Certainly one of the best video game soundtracks of all time. Thank you for uploading this.
Cool to see the younger generation of gamers keeping this game alive, and its music. I first played Mega Man 2 the year it came out, I was eight years old and got it for christmas along with Duck Tales (completely overwhelmed that my parents gave me TWO games). Sitting in my grandparents apartment playing this in the winter of 1989 (it must have been) was EPIC. This music... I'll never forget it!
I love how you let Bubble Man's theme play four times. Such a great song! The way the counter melody combines with the melody and the backbeat "bubble" sounding noises is just awesome.
I was about 9 when I first played this. 20 years later, whenever I hear these songs I just want play Megaman. Back then there was no hand-holding, achievements or quick saves. You either made it or not, I miss that.
Every single megaman game is able to do this and that's why their soundtracks shall forever be remembered in gaming. It got easier to keep a consistently good soundtrack as gaming went on, but Mario and Megaman we're the only ones i can think of that did this during the NES days.
Played thru this on an emulator recently. Just hearing the music on the loading screen was enough to make a little bit of wee come out. The music for this game is amazing. Takes me back lol!
This game is near perfection. Tight controls, amazing level design, perfect music. This game should be in every ''best game ever list'', yet somehow people seem to forget about this game or something.
To the uploaded. Three years ago? Imagine being 33 and playing this game 20 years ago. Now that's nostalgia broseph. To support what the wise man said below... This was part of quite the chapter in gaming. Very few games today achieve the charm of the old school... But i still love me some zelda and skyrim. Game on.
You played in 2008? Hell, I played this when it came out in 1988 and it was the pinnacle of NES gaming, right up there with Final Fantasy. Glad to see the classics aren't dead though!
If you want a successful Megaman game, your intro needs to make him look heroic because that sets the tone for the rest of the game. Having Megaman standing on a building with his helmet off, looking over the land, is how you get that.
Me too! I bought it when it first came out, spent two weeks obsessively playing it, beat it, then played it more obsessively until I could finish it in about two hours. Still love it!
Damn the music director must have been such a tight ass for the soundtrack to be so well made, complicated, and unique that nothing less than perfection was allowed. I bet it would sound amazing backwards!
Boy did I play this game in the 90s. The music didn't feel that exceptional back then (many other NES games had decent music too, and I was busy playing it). Certainly one of the greatest video game soundtracks ever.
Hahaha I know what you mean in the discription. First time I played this game I was 11 witch was 4 years ago. But this music does bring back memory's from my summer between 6th and 7th grade. Playing it till like 6 in the morning
A genius game. I live the fact that if you played this game to a particular format then you could beat it easier. Doing heat mans level with no rocket boost platform was ridiculous! Flashman and metalmans music were beautiful. Who loved beating Woodman with one big blast of heatmans power??
I really enjoyed the music from this game, each tune reminds me of the happy feelings I felt during each level... "quickman music comes on" FUUUUUUUUUU
just pointing out that OST means original sound track, not to be rude, but it does bother me when people use the work that in in the acronym after the acronym, because your saying Original Sound Track Sound Track, and i know it bothers alot of other people as well, but other than that, thanks for the upload its super awesome =D
I don't mean similar sounding, I mean the songs have a very similar structure. Change a song slightly, copy and paste, change slightly. Rinse and repeat.

Megaman 2 music is the best 8-bit music. Possibly the best video game music ever...
no...You sir are not wrong! Love the tunes more than most present games we have today. Simple midi tunes, loved it.
nice profile picture

When I 1st played this game I was 6 years old back in 1992. It always takes me back to my childhood when I hear these songs.
Man, the memories of sitting in my friends basement playing this all day/night...it was GREAT to grow up in the 80's
Always loved the Password music and Stage Select music a lot.
crash man just gets me goin

The description is so true.. I close my eyes and I remember small details from my childhood home that I thought I had forgot.:)
I was about 5 years old when I played this for the first time... 18 years ago :D ...and it still has the most memorable OST ever!!! thanks for this!
Best 8-bit video game music by far. Mario and Zelda can't even hold a candle.
I like Mario and Zelda better, but you're right.
bubble man, crash man and flash man, this they are my favorite tracks of the game :3
+xX BEDOM Xx Almost like you, instead of crash man, i prefer wood man.
This game is one of the only games where I replay over and over just for the soundtrack.
One of the best game soundtracks of all time!
Wood Man is my favourite!
I love how you let Bubble Man's theme play four times. Such a great song! The way the counter melody combines with the melody and the backbeat "bubble" sounding noises is just awesome.
one of my favorite game when i was a kid and luved the music even more!! classic just pure classic!!!

Thank you for this! Great quality, too!

Awesome music better than game of 2000,with no soul. Great time.

Soundtrack and difficulty does the trick.
A wonderful chapter in video games history. A perfect time to be a kid and enjoy with a NES console.
good ol' 2008, eh? Christ I feel old. I remember when this FIRST came out. x.x
Me too! I bought it when it first came out, spent two weeks obsessively playing it, beat it, then played it more obsessively until I could finish it in about two hours. Still love it!
Oh, god. I get goosebumps when I hear the opening theme go to the start screen theme.
First time i played this game was in the early 90's. That brings back memories!
I'm glad young people can still appreciate how good these games are/were.
Flash Man theme top 10 NES music of all time.
god, i love being old. this shit was way before it's time. Best fucking music ever in a video game.
this video made me cry :D
I could probably listen to the stage select theme all day.
bubble man is my favorite by far. the whining note is gripping
Great music for one of the greatest games ever
I just shed a tear.
love that flashman music
Damn the music director must have been such a tight ass for the soundtrack to be so well made, complicated, and unique that nothing less than perfection was allowed. I bet it would sound amazing backwards!

and i thank you for bringing back this memories ^^
Love metal man and crash man themes so much I could just explode...
Metal man's soundtrack has kinda stuck with me, It's my 'singing without realizing it' tune.
Hahaha I know what you mean in the discription. First time I played this game I was 11 witch was 4 years ago. But this music does bring back memory's from my summer between 6th and 7th grade. Playing it till like 6 in the morning

Well, that brought back memories.
Still... the best soundtrack to anything ever
XD I love megaman2 music! Mega man two probably has the best music that I have ever heard in 8-bit. X3
metalman looks like a crazy doctor
+TheMomo 09 thats what i called him when i was a kid He wasnt metalman he was the mad scientist
Love this game forever !!
I remember playing this game when I was eight. Damn that was a long time ago. For the tech they had back in the eighties, they did some killer shit.
Woodmans tune is the dopest with metal man right up there
great game''' 8 years old when it came out...
Amazing game and music.thank u
I really enjoyed the music from this game, each tune reminds me of the happy feelings I felt during each level... "quickman music comes on" FUUUUUUUUUU
Yeah, that is my opinion. Congratulations on working that out.
The guy who composed this music is now making music for Mighty No. 9.
HOLY FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Mega Man 2 had the best soundtrack out of any other in the series.
HIV-virus :D
Great upload!
Keep finding myself humming, buzzing, whistling, "singing" along all the time :D
@ the description of the video.
I KNOW THAT FEEL, its the same summer I finally beat MM IV.
Bubble Man has moobs.
The first time I played this, I was also 15, but that was 24 years ago.
Takashi Tateishi, the composer of MM2 is now on staff with Keiji Inafune's Mighty No. 9. My body is ready.
GREATEST EIGHT BIT OST EVER !!!! Hardest megaman game was mega man X for me but megaman rules !!!!!!!
(1:44) that song was in mega man x when you have to fight the bosses, like, storm eagle.
thnx
''AIR MAN''!
that crash man level never ended.
Fantastic
a 2-D game with 3-D models would be an amazing reboot for this game franchise... they can bring back the original robot masters too!
still awesome.
Mega Man 2 has best Nes Soundtrack. EVER
Bubble man ftw!
Flash man, AWESOME
I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT
It's so cool! :D
Air Man theme is my favorite =)

That Quick Man track :D

i really miss him T^T

o melhor da serie de todos os temposss

When you start taking basic math classes, you will understand :)
Air Man FTW
My all time fav game as a kido
The maverick war lasted many years, but ended before 2009. done and done
Remember Street Fighter 2010? Apparently, making it more specific makes the disparity between the game and reality more apparent.
aaaa what a good game and music specially the first level of willy
damn this game is good
LOL, I never knew either. Just tried to memorize the patterns and died like 15 times in the process.
AIR MAN!
I said maverick wars, which I know was stupid, but I meant the quasi-war with Wily. Wily made them, but they are pretty much mavericks.
