It's criminal what's become of health care...single, no health problems, self-employed...$1,049/month. Thanks for this information Tim.
But at least its not Socialism!.. My God, how terrible that would be! Says he who lived under a single payer health care system in Europe for 36 years and my family still do... Superb care and the average tax bill for HC is an extra $300/month and that includes everything. If they put you in a helicopter the out of pocket cost to you the patient is $ZERO.. No BS networks or insurance company refusing to pay because you went to the wrong hospital.. Oh and it includes dental.. What a TERRIBLE system! s it perfect?.. No, but its a HELL of a lot better than the crony capitalist cartel we have in the USA.

@@downtownbigcity9552 This is the UK. I emigrated here in '96 but my fam is still all back there. Most European countries have a similar system except the financial models vary from single payer to insurance based. Most of the systems are some kind of hybrid of the two. Either way the USA is by far the most expensive. In the US we spend roughly $10 per person per year (public/private combined). In the UK the cost is about $3500.
Tim just Be aware that’s there’s a good chance that stent will plug up in about ten years then you may have to have a by pass they don’t tell you that, speaking from experience.

My husband and I have had Samaritan for about 7+ years now. They completely covered both my knee replacement surgeries. They were so helpful and caring. Don't ever plan on going with anyone else.

Wish I had this type of information a few years ago when trying to decide on insurance. i couldn''t find anyone with experience of these cost sharing companies, so I chickened out. Like you, I had 30 years in software engineering and reached the burn out phase so I understand. Great video...thank you for sharing how it actually worked for you.

I’m so glad you covered this topic. I looked seriously at the various MediShare programs including Samaritan about 1 month ago before starting Open Enrollment. Those options were so much cheaper than health insurance but in the end I was scared off due to lack of regulation and over-site. Your experience has eased my mind quite a bit and I’ll reconsider next year. Thank you for your balanced, informative and transparent approach to this and all topics you cover. I’m so glad you’re back in good health and seem to be recovering quite well.

I like the concept of your videos on what it takes to run a small business. Your absolutely correct that healthcare cost is a huge road block to stepping out on your own. We all measure success differently, and one lesson I’m trying to teach my kids is, wealth and happiness do not correlate, and only trading your time for money will not make you wealthy. While there young (same age as your daughter), take risks, be your own boss, be responsible for your actions, don’t be careless. So, I’m looking forward to this video series and hope to pass along some knowledge. Thanks.

Hi Tim thanks for sharing, your faith works very similar to mine. The church I go to has a similar insurance system. For the past 45 years I had company insurance but this coming Nov. I turn 65 and the company insurance goes away so I'm going to be getting on the share plan from my church system. This is a big change and I was scared. Your video helped ease the stress. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing this video. This is a nice change from the Compact Tractors and implements. I hope that Tim is feeling better after the one day in the hospital. I never thought of looking at Healthcare Cost Sharing Programs. My wife had to pay $ 1,000 per month for TWO years with NO MAJOR health issues. $ 24,000 because she retired at age 63, and NOT age 65.

Great topic, Tim! My family has Samaritan Ministries as well and we have really enjoyed it as well for the same reasons. It worked great when our children were born and we have had a great experience.

Thanks for another great video guys. This is perfect timing for me. My wife and I started our little junk removal business about two years ago. Coming up on 23 years for me as a police officer and I am ready for a change. Our goal is to go full-time with this business within the next two years! I have very good insurance right now so the idea of giving that up is certainly scary.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! I had the same stent inserted by the VA about seven years ago. Had no idea a regular hospital charged so much! have had both hips replaced, right shoulder replaced twice and a lot of repair work done on my left hand over the years, not to mention a lot of issues with a-fib. Too scared to even think what all that would have cost me outside of the VA. I guess my time in the military is really paying me big dividends now!
But, my wife retired about four years ago and pays those huge premiums as well as prescription costs. We do use Costco for better prices, but will look into Sam's Club.
We are non smokers and non drinkers also, but like you, I really enjoy a good bacon-cheese-burger!

I myself have battled many issues. Juvenile diabetes, kidney and pancreas transplant 97 & 2010, anal cancer 2018, and now beating a terminal cancer diagnosis. I'm wanting to purchase a 10125R with backhoe to fox up my elderly parents home and property. I'm heading to the dealer today. Thanks for all the great informational tips.

We also use Samaritan Ministries. Thankfully we've never had a major expense. However, they took GREAT care of our Pastor and his wife when she went through her battle with cancer. We highly recommend people use a health-sharing ministry and take back control of your health care.
SM members paid 100% of our same medical procedure. It works got checks from all over the country

We began using Samaritan Ministries three years ago when I retired, but was too young for Medicare. We have been very pleased. Another benefit is that when you use a credit card to pay the healthcare provider, you get the credit card points.
