30 seconds in and I've already laughed at the reaction to Cat's suggestion of Deep Frame Diorama. This is going to be great
Same here! :D
I HAD to Replay it Several Times‼️ cAt saId No🐈he's not right in his head😮
Definitely want to see more tonks! Suggest you weight down the hulls with stones, bits of metal or old coins - they’ll sit so much better on the table and won’t blow away when you breathe on them too heavily.

These would look great in a diorama, perhaps set in a deep frame?
The “medical supplies” are from Plasmapheresis kits. They’re all sterilized when they’re made and the bits you got are the end caps for the “harness” and needles. All get pulled off and tossed before any blood or anything happens so they’re clean. I use them a bunch in my own builds! Nice to see some in your collection, Bill! Can’t wait to see what else you make with them!
They're also the exact same caps used on the disposable needles for some insulin pens!
The round almost clear things with texture I mean
I like that rusters managed to make something closely resembling real renault r35
I love the world you’re building here, it’s developing into such a fascinating place full of colourful characters and strange events
Thanks Jasmine
Love the amazing lore that you come up with for this setting, I find the image of these two tanks roaming around the wasteland not being able to destroy each other absolutely hilarious. All of your tanks and/or tonks give me an itch to get my bitsbox out and make one myself 👍
Just one?
@@AlexBabcock-hw9iz well he'd need a friend of course...
@@halfcrafted and by friend you mean bitter enemy bent on each other's destruction. The very best kind of friends. You never have to guess what they are thinking.
@@AlexBabcock-hw9iz haha
One must imagine the tonks happy
I like these little guys. The sizing seems like it could also scale well with Gaslands.
Gaslands vs Tonks, the ultimate pub game
I love the Metal Slug styling, and though I haven't tried Tonks, I did buy the rules for "What a Tanker" from Too Fat Lardies. To be fair I haven't played that either, but I'd be much more likely to play it with fun scratch-built tanks and terrain, rather than scale models of French villages and bocages (the Lardies are all about the historical).
Edit: These tonks from Bill remind me strongly of the Grot Tank models that Forgeworld released a decade back. So much character, and for less than a kidney per squadron by building it yourself!
Takes me back really, when I started wargaming we were using rules from magazines (or modified, or totally our own design), and we'd be using books for hills and soda cans for buildings etc.
P.S. Gaslands is freaking great!
Idea of safety mechanism on airplane turrets is so simple, funny and ingenious. Both tonks have strong Bill vibe as the rest of your stuff. I love it. And I'd love to see more moving parts in the future if it is possible of course. Cheers!
The Ruster tank is the most Bill thing I’ve ever seen
Who's Bill?
MORE TONKS!
also, fantasic paint jobs, I really like the respite tonk in particular

They look great! Kinda like 40k grot tanks where you can really have a bit of fun building something! The safety feature idea is brilliant! Would love to see what else you can come up with. Have fun 🛠️
I love the way that the human's green tank came out. Excellent paint job. Also, nice shout out to Theo. Excellent vid, Bill!
Woahh thanks for the shout out!
Also TONKS looked amazing, gonna have to build myself one now... 👀💥
you should!

Using the wheel arches from the toy car to form the transmission on the inside of tracks on Tonk #1 is a great idea.
I love Bill's crazy running gear on his tracked builds.
I find Bill's passion infectious.
The Turrets' IFF fluff is a cracking bit of lore.
The tonks look great! And I always enjoy your story times.
Bill I loved your Tonks. Please make more.
Don’t worry, he made moar
Your wish was granted

"...Get yer Tonks out for the boys" Love these, so inspirational. I've not crafted for ages but I think this is just what I needed to watch to get back into it, thank you.
been watching you for some years now.......silly HA with memory loss.....sigh.....you enable me to have building goals and very enjoyable.....thank you Sir.....
I just came back from Fuertevantura for vacation, after a 6 hour flight this is the way to relax :D
Bills painting skills are getting better and better each video I love seeing the progress!!! B E a utiful
This is maybe my favorite build so far! The respite tank is so awesome. The character and jank of your builds is so inspiring.
Oooooooh snap!!! Getting some Metal Slug vibes and I love it!!!
I've never seen this channel before, 30 seconds in i was recommending it to someone else, 25 minutes in and my whole day has improved drastically.
I will probably watch this again later, this is amazing
welcome
more tonks please. love your enthusiasm for building these
The creativity and comedy in this video is through the roof! Definitely subscribing to see more!
Excellent sketchbook talk. I agree 100% and I love that you show the mistakes, that it isn't perfect, and it's okay to water color your pages and make it all bleed around and look wonky.
Love the turret lore for these Tonks. Brilliant builds too. Cat would look good in a deep frame (if you need to keep him in line).
The tonks look like a blast to build. Great video.
Great looking little tonks. Please make more of them
The Ruster tank looks like it could have been built by Orcs and perhaps just like Orcs, if enough Rusters believe that it will work then it does! Fantastic video as always Bill. Hope you have a great time in the land of corn walls......
Tanks. Sweet the green one. I could see a Grot/goblin drive in Warhammer 40k . Happy you did some more tanks for your story
Wow! Seeing those hopeful sketches for the Frame Diorama at 5:34 sure makes you think about what could have been...
This video popping up is almost too perfect. I've been working on scratch bashing a grot tank or two for warhammer. So not only was the video great inspiration I also found a new game to try out!
Bill’s story about the never ending tank-brother battle reminds of this short film called “Cannon Fodder” which is part of a larger film called “Memories”. I highly recommend Bill (or anyone!) check it out if you want to see a short film about the futility of war with great world building, music, and art. The color palette also reminds me of Respite and Bill’s art in general!
The animation on the TONKS looks great! Hard to say which is my favourite, but I think the exhaust pipes on Ruster Tonk just look too cool

Looks very cool! I want to see more Tonks to be honest
Those turned out great, the game looks like a lot of fun too. A bill vs Dan Tonks battle would be cool😂
I only learnt about tonks like, a couple days ago and now i love it
I love the lore behind the tonks...forever locked in an unwinnable battle due to safety systems they can't comprehend, brilliant!
The opening w/ Cat..... LOL! 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The tonks turned out really nice, love the storybuilding too. Shame they're not in a deep frame diorama though
I really enjoy seeing the sketch book. That little tank upper left looked very much like a Sherman tank you even nailed the olive green color when you painted it.
Then you move into build mode which is very interesting the little pieces of junk and greeblies going together. The tools you use can be intersting to. Ahhhh so that's what those pokey wheel things are for i thought they were for Saturday fun night with the Mrs inner thighs and other sensitive spots.......... anyhow.
Have to check out the Tonk game and yes by all means at least another pair you need to build. I could see a whole tonk troop. 4 platoons with 4 tanks each is 16 wonderful tonks then going up against another troop is a total of 32 wonderful TONKS!
Bill: "Straight lines and perspectives are my nemesis"
Me, who ironically does robots and cyborgs: "Oh so I'm not the only one?"
i have been checking on here every day for this video since you posted the TONK photos
Would be lovely to see two more Tonks, these look great!
"... and friends." You need friends, that a deep cut man, deep cut.
Did Cat say a deep-frame diorama?? I think that's an amazing idea. I'd love to see you try something like that.
I for one am very proud of you Bill, all jokes aside, very few crafts channels I watch make me want to pick stuff up and build something as often as you do.
Every time I watch one of your videos I get ideas, either builds or editing. Great stuff.
This is truly the best TONK videos ever!! It gives me to motivate me to tonk every pedestrians i see!!
There’s more TONK videos!!?? 🤩
Have I already said I love your videos? I love your videos. This is great. ❤
Those cutter are also good for making people talk !!! So I here get them out and offer to snip bits off 😅
very ghibli, I love it!
I used to spend time drawing on graphing paper during free periods in school. Me and my friends sometimes would use the grid to draw out military bases and vehicles, planning on playing wargames, but never quite getting to playing because planning and drawing was so much fun. Maybe if he had tonks, we could have actually played
Thonks for the tonks
Tonks for the thonks
Awesome build Bill! I love the backstory for the turrets!
Splendid build and lore!! Very impressed by the improvement in your painting skills!
I haven't watched all your videos yet, so maybe you've done some of these, but your Canon is inspiring and I have a couple ideas for builds:
1. A Sand Skiff, like on Tattoine
2. A Ornithopter, like on Dune
3. A junk trawler-- a tracked vehicle with a big open container filled with junk, maybe an arm reaching out to grab things
4. A sand sled build with a team of creatures pulling it, like a team of sled dogs, but for sand. Maybe bigger creatures, bigger sled, and some sort of team running it.
5. A billboard for the Town of Respite welcoming ships to land or travellers to shop at the town. Lots of lights and bold lettering.
Lovely, I also enjoy creating small tanks, however not with that amount of lore, definitively it brings the desings into a narrative. A very common solution used in many toy tanks to rotate the turret, is having the base with a hole, and the turret with a centered plastic stick of same diameter than the hole, so the turret stick in place but also can be rotated :D
i've been watching your videos since a bit of time now and i just wanna say, i'm loving each new one of them, absolutely adore your humor, your builds, your style as well as the lore you're writing and adding on which each vids!!!
"As long as it's not a box of syringes I'm ok"😂😂😂
lovely. scouring my local thrift shops for beads because of you.
Can't wait for the day Bill attempts his second deep frame diorama. Maybe episode 100?
They're wonderful! So glad to see you enjoy this process 😊
Thanks
This was a lot of fun to watch and I enjoyed your dry sense of wit! Tonks looks like a lot of fun - we can all do with another new project....so I'm in! Thanks Bill!!!
I love the tonks you made. Please go even sillier with the next two.
Loved this episode. It has inspired me to start making my own. I would like to see more
I want to make one of those now. Beautiful master pieces.
I really enjoy seeing fantasy tank designs from people who may not know about tanks. It's a breath of fresh air
I love the Tonks!!! They turned out so adorable!
53 years old and love modifying toys, and am inspired by you and Crafsman. ❤
Really cool builds and a fun backstory! I’d definitely be interested in seeing more tonks
I laughed when Bill said as long as it’s not a box of syringes 😂 I’m not sure if he realized that those little orange tubes are the covers off of a syringe, lmao ! My mom is a diabetic so I knew exactly what they were as soon as he pulled the box out !
14:08 *He's beginning to believe*
nice, love the little lore segments, this one was quite creative and entertaining
great back story and good work. stay safe and enjoy your holiday. Don't forget to leave Cat food this time lol
I love the tonks, please do the other two
ooh I love TONKS! I think i might actually play Tonks it looks really fun and simple to get into, and I'm just starting out with all this kitbashing and the like so building a simple lil tonk will be the perfect start! Thanks Bill! :3
Love the tone and style of these videos!
Love the end results! And if you can't sketch tanks, then I'm arch Duke Ferdinand. Seriously though, your sketchbook is a thing of beauty, just from the little bit shown here. God bless.
I really really really loved this video!! I love when you scratch-build in 28mm. Really I just love when you scratch-build anything. Excellent video!! Very inspiring, my partner and I are gonna have a tonk building date now and then we’re gonna play!!
Great story! I’d love to see you build some more.
Unpainted, the Ruster tank looks like a pinata. Painted, it reminds me a little of a dude in a ghilly suit.
Great build as always! I love your designs and the worldbuilding behind them. Would love to see more Tonks to join these guys.
Ik love those tonks looks Fun so if you want do some more pllssss 😊
Would love to see two more TONKS Bill, nice vid :)
Hello mate, I was impressed by your work, mostly because scratchbuilding is hard. You showed the comps and I was like "He already knows what everything will look like when finished to use that lot" and I was right.
So I have nothing to pass onto you, apart from this, I have had cause to make a plastic thing spin within another plastic thing, like on your turret. I saw that you split and melted back and at the end seemed a bit unhappy while being happy with that aspect of the build.
It's the melting part that takes time to get right, sometimes if you can have a shield behind the melted lip, not only does that stop any melted plastic catching on the other part, but it also leaves a gap. I actually do this a lot with turrets, like on battleship builds, so they can't fall out if it's a pond or bath build (make the plugs underneath from milliput). having a very slight gap helps with free circulation of the turret or wheel. Sometimes I've just put a blade down the gap to get rid of any excess lip, but a shield does away with all that faff, if you can fashion one to use.
Bill Making Stuff and tanks, my favourite combo.
Yeeees! More Tonks please Bill me old Mate! 👍 Ever thought of putting a small battery pack underneath one of your builds, so you can put led lights on it? Might look pretty cool? 🙂👍
LOL love the "medical supplies" - my mate needs to use these regularly so keeps them for my bits box (not a junkie, it's some sort of anaemia).
Can confirm those bits should be clean.
Nice texture on them - love me some texture :)
These look amazing Bill! Thanks for putting the word out about this game, it sounds incredible
Thanks nick
Thank you for helping me find my newest game to enjoy. My friends and I love it! Scratch building some tanks this week to probably start campaigns. Thanks again, and keep up the great content! 👏👏
Lovely video, and I laughed aloud at the turret safety feature lore.
Tonks are a great idea. Great for creativity and using stuff from my junk box
More Tonks!!! These are awesome Bill. Oohh enjoy your holiday!
This is the first video of yours I've seen. I loved it.
Please make more tonks.
Love the different styles for the tonks!
Haha! Best story for the tonks not able to shoot each other. Quality stuff as always Bill 😂
Tonks are fun, more please! And enjoy your holiday!
I did end up in this video by luck, but man....
This is awesome to see. I love how its possible to make stuff from random stuff. As someone who works with games, in a 3D world, there's this technique that I don't dominate at all which is called: kitbashing. (Came from modeling, I know, but its used for 3D as well) And it requires risk. Decisions have to be made as it goes, because its not based on something real, mostly. Like an exact copy of something. I do have respect and admiration for people who have that talent of transform things into cool totally other things. Just respect!
