Hey Bill, hopefully this comment gets to you in a timely manner, the kangaroos are running a little late today. Thanks for kicking off this collab with such style and editing the interview to make me look much nicer than I really am.
OMFG so funny. I can’t believe you were able to somehow turn Trent, who seems like the nicest RUclipsr on the internet, into a sarcastic and awkward Bill-type through the magic of editing. WELL DONE to you both!!!
Think it’s something to do with not using cheapest acrylic paint available, it’s got no pigment mixed into custard. Nice brushes and quality pigmented paint makes all the difference… it’s almost enjoyable?
Bill out here flaunting his crabs for all to see. This turned out amazing and you and Trent are close enough to have a dilapidated baby together, congratulations 🥳 (also playing ‘spot my junk’ I sent you a the watch gear 😂)
This build is a lot of fun to imagine just shuffling its way through rusty deserts and canyons, following some weird collection of stars that the Hermit has taken an interest in for the past decade. And the painting on the crab itself was great! I don't know if you found this, but painting a bigger mini seems so much easier to try out all that stuff you see these high level paints doing on a ridiculously small space.
>following some weird collection of stars that the Hermit has taken an interest in Derelict spacecraft, abandoned in orbit around Respite? Possibly whoever controls the Hermit is trying to remotely reactivate them to send down a landing craft so they can at long last, go home?
Before the base paint, the crab 🦀 critter reminded me of the junk lady from "The Lyabranth" she carried all her "good stuff" around on her back. "Can't throw that away, sweetie, that's good stuff!" Great Movie!!!
When I was a kid, I put peace's of broken toys to make new toys. And my mom always put it in the garbage. When my little brother was 8 I make toys for him using wire skeleton pieces of broken toys and hot glue. That was like 30 years ago, now I see you videos and bring memories to me. Thank you for you videos .
Timelapse was enjoyable, wouldn't mind it for more of these one-day-builds and such. These builds can be less extensive as this one, can't believe you did this one in a day honestly. Looks amazing!
Especially love this one. I’m a writer and I live for the lore. The lore builds in tangled, rusty layers just like the models. I’m really blown away by how much talent on display. Crafting, art, storytelling, filmmaking and music. Impressive.
The building, the editing, the flow of the video, the music, the humour (though slightly opaque for a non-commonwealth native) are amazing as usual, but your painting skills have taken a quantum leap sometime in the last videos, from stippling the base colour in the center of the big rusted plates avoiding the edges, to the dabbed glazing in the claws (reminded me of Sergio Calvo...). Really enjoyed this wandering Craibniac...
@billmakingstuff do you make anything we don't see, or do you film everything you craft? Are we watching your painting skills evolve in real time? If so, WOW, yours just took a huge leap forward. I f@#king love watching this journey playing out in front of us.
@Bill Making Stuff then you need to be pretty chuffed with your paintwork right now. Those crab claws (and the whole build really) is by far your best paintwork yet.
What your builds include that not many other crafters have is composition and purposeful intriguing silhouette. Other crafters don’t seem to think about about those important fundamentals as much as.. it makes your models feel more real and less like random bits just placed together.
Bizza and Trezza! F'eveh! Particularly enjoyed this one. Your object and the bit of attendant lawr really connect with something I've been working on. Thank you. Aloha from the Big Island of Hawai'i, where it's currently 32° (you understand that temp, yah).
I initially thought it was a remake of Howls Moving Castle, and i was shocked because that’s a trash project i am working on, then realized its a really cool monster. Nicely done mate
I'd have to say this, the tank, and your scatter terrain with the sign, well, and plant domes have to be some of my favorite builds you've done recently. This one is great. I love how the crab turned out. Also, I must say that recently I started using more EVA foam in my builds. Created two industrial tanks for a game a while back and I did not have my usual material for cladding on the tanks. Money is a bit tight and I had some EVA I never used and decided to use it. Worked great. Easy to use and took glue like a charm. Going to be using EVA in my builds a lot more now. A bonus, it's dirt cheap.
I recently got back into doing miniature wargaming and in turn, my brain has turned towards building scenery and terrain, and your stuff absolutely blows me away. I'm ever in awe at whatever magic you make from whatever junk you get your hands on. I feel I've learnt so much just by watching this one video
Oh wow! The best one yet! I love the crabs at the base, wonderful. Your painting is really good too. What a wonderful episode. Thanks for the DRY BRUSH! Love the show as always. 😊
Really cool build, it's up there with the tank you made recently in my favourites of yours. If you ever want to diverge from EVA foam and try metal, an easy to get and work with metal is cutting up soda cans into sheets and voila! You really tried harder on the painting and it shows, it ended up great
Carcinization; noun. The tendency for crustaceans to independently evolve into crab-like forms. Apparently there's just something about crabs that is so optimal from an evolution point of view, that crab-like forms have evolved so many times we have a whole word for it.
Don't know if this is common knowledge, but I just found out, that you can texture the garden wire (of which i could find 4 different gauges in my area!) with a soldering iron or a heated scalpel. You can make pretty convincing ventilation ducts with that...
I love your sketchbook so much, your style is awesome, and its so cool to see previous videos' sketches as you flip through (Also really entertaining video, as always :D)
Those speed paints look great on EVA! Gotta remember this for some kinda future project. Very cool to see this project finished after that riveting live stream
This is so beautiful! Love this build so much! Four things: 1. I might need a print of the sketch 2. Your interviews are informative and inspiring, as good as Weird Al's 3. "When in doubt, just doodle" needs to be my next tattoo. May I have it in your writing? 4. I hope the Observer is an Observer from MST3K or a cyborg of the Stardew Valley Wizard
Hi Bill, I'm an immigrant from Studson Studio and I am here now and I love you. Big fan of your editing, it reminds me of craft shows I watched as a kid- like art attack and stuff. Have a good day, Bill
Another great Bill video, kind of weird to see him actually doing edge highlighting, that's dedication right there. Can't wait to see this Final Fantasy build from Miscast, I hope it is a Malboro.
the wandering hermit could be a sort of baba yaga-like figure in ruster folktales, serving as both a powerful villain and a source of magical assistance, depending on the story. If you seek them out, it's likely you'll be devoured by their house or horribly cursed... but if you're brave, careful and virtuous, they may just grant you a bit of their power. that's the reason why so many rusters have been killed by the hermit lately. living outside their city in small bands, weathering attacks by monsters, adventurers from respite, and even other bands of rusters has left many of them desperate, to the point they're willing to risk their lives on a folktale. and, well, if they die, maybe that sacrifice will be enough for the gods below to start listening again.
Bill has really outdone himself with the painting this time, especially the crab. You could take a close-up photo and it would look like tha panel of a graphic novel.
Hey Bill this is one of my favorite builds yet! Your builds really inspire my imagination. Just a little suggestion for rivets. You could use rhinestones instead of hole-punching it would save you a lot of work haha
Man I have rewatched this particular build of yours an insane amount of times now. Since the day you uploaded this. You are awesome Bill. Never stop crafting cool things! Well, unless your hands fall offone day or something on those lines.
Oh JUNK GOD Bill please hear me although I am not worthy of your notice. Just a thought, probably not even an original thought, but hey. Have you ever considered writing down all the lore for your world? Maybe putting it into a book? To really push the (rusty scrap) boat out, how about you create a war/skirmish game based on your fantastic lore. I for one would be extremely interested in such an endeavour.
Bill, this has to be your best build yet. I say that having followed you almost from the start. The paint job is spectacular. You have given me so many ideas, I just wish I had time to do them all. Most importantly, however, give my love to Cat, but not in a creepy way.
So wholesome seeing these 2 Australians collaborating ❤
would you collaborate with aanother one canadian?
@Half-Random Jack would you do a collab with a Welsh person
Austrians
Everyone, the answer is yes. Hit me up for a collab if you are from a nation.
I’m guessing @miscast hasn’t published his video yet?! 😢
Hey Bill, hopefully this comment gets to you in a timely manner, the kangaroos are running a little late today. Thanks for kicking off this collab with such style and editing the interview to make me look much nicer than I really am.
Bill Editing Stuff
It was hard. I cut out so much swearing. Looking forward to part 2.
So much awkwardness, so great
Zoe the Robot likes the little cakes made on Bill's other channel "Mill Baking Stuff"
Lol
What a great collaboration! I love the paint job and the excellent addition to the lore.
Beautiful video, Bill.
Thank ye Boylei
OMFG so funny. I can’t believe you were able to somehow turn Trent, who seems like the nicest RUclipsr on the internet, into a sarcastic and awkward Bill-type through the magic of editing. WELL DONE to you both!!!
For an artist who hates painting...those claws man. Incredible!
And the wet blending on the telescope lenses.
Bingo
What an epic crustacean creation! The extra time spent painting really paid off too!
This build is a lot of fun to imagine just shuffling its way through rusty deserts and canyons, following some weird collection of stars that the Hermit has taken an interest in for the past decade. And the painting on the crab itself was great! I don't know if you found this, but painting a bigger mini seems so much easier to try out all that stuff you see these high level paints doing on a ridiculously small space.
>following some weird collection of stars that the Hermit has taken an interest in
Derelict spacecraft, abandoned in orbit around Respite? Possibly whoever controls the Hermit is trying to remotely reactivate them to send down a landing craft so they can at long last, go home?
I'm not sure if seeing you include the bionicle piece fills me with joy, or with abject terror.
I must agree and say both 😀
i often use thouse with broken sockets, curse/bless 2008 socket desighn
Hmm... Yes.
Why horror? Just for cutting up beloved toys?
Definitely both.
Before the base paint, the crab 🦀 critter reminded me of the junk lady from "The Lyabranth" she carried all her "good stuff" around on her back. "Can't throw that away, sweetie, that's good stuff!" Great Movie!!!
So kind of you to share the spotlight with a small and upcoming channel, Bill :) I'm sure Miscast appreciates your support.
I love the idea of seeing others work through a Bill lens! This turned great!
Is this the first iteration of the famed Bill Making Stuff painting time slogan in full?! 😮 I love how tall this is, and also how crab!
Got some serious Howl's moving castle vibes fom this. Amazing work as usual
Howl’s moving crabstle.
Love the crab observatory! Stinkin' awesome!! Dry brush 😂
Timelapse was enjoyable, wouldn't mind it for more of these one-day-builds and such. These builds can be less extensive as this one, can't believe you did this one in a day honestly. Looks amazing!
So I tried to post this one for your latest video, but youtube was too quick for me apparently...
I see we're doing collabs with anyone these days? Awesome work Bill, love the shape of the tower!
I absolutely love it when he whispers "Dry brush" lol
Honestly this is absolutely amazing. You did a great job painting the build, especially the claws!! Its absolute eyecandy!
Especially love this one. I’m a writer and I live for the lore. The lore builds in tangled, rusty layers just like the models. I’m really blown away by how much talent on display. Crafting, art, storytelling, filmmaking and music. Impressive.

yeah all real time
@Bill Making Stuff then you need to be pretty chuffed with your paintwork right now. Those crab claws (and the whole build really) is by far your best paintwork yet.
The crabs facing off before being beaten to death is just a stunning allegory to you and Trent, incredibly moving.
What your builds include that not many other crafters have is composition and purposeful intriguing silhouette. Other crafters don’t seem to think about about those important fundamentals as much as.. it makes your models feel more real and less like random bits just placed together.
Bizza and Trezza! F'eveh!

I like the colours and I can clearly see a crab sitting inside and thinking about the next moves 💜
Bill your back story for everything you make is great. Hollywood could use a person like you.
This collab brings me lots of joy, simple as that. Hoping for more teamwork between my two favorite hobbyists in the future 👀
What a beautiful build baby! Can't wait to see Trent's as well
Your videos are outstanding!! Not only your works, and the video editing(like sounds and text with materials) catches my eyes. Subscribed!
Acceptable craftmanship, above average humour and immaculate video editing? I think I might have to watch this legally.
Crabs just keep evolving, even on Tapu.

What a theft...ahhh... I mean collaboration! lol Love this one Bill, great mix of Sci-fi, Fantasy, and Ghibli, loving all the terrain builds.
that paintjob turned out amazing, you can really see the extra effort you put in
A Hermit C'lab with Trent 😍😍😍
This paint job really shows of Bill's mad skills.
I recently got back into doing miniature wargaming and in turn, my brain has turned towards building scenery and terrain, and your stuff absolutely blows me away. I'm ever in awe at whatever magic you make from whatever junk you get your hands on. I feel I've learnt so much just by watching this one video
Great build Bill! Patiently waiting for your second channel Bill Drawing Stuff
Oh wow! The best one yet! I love the crabs at the base, wonderful. Your painting is really good too. What a wonderful episode. Thanks for the DRY BRUSH! Love the show as always. 😊
More "Build Babies" with other creators/makers would be greatly appreciated.
solid video as always!
The crossover we all hoped for and deserve (accept cat most likely)
LOVE everything you do! For some reason I'm always think'n "I hope he puts a laundry line on this!" Food for thought.
That's the best hermit crab, scrap beast, observatory I've ever seen. Great paint job too.
Great build and story, and you've really been stepping up your painting game!
Both of my favourite makers collaborating, can't wait
Excellent; All the way around.
Those claws and crab bits are actually mad good. Bill is becoming QUITE the painter. Clearly his favorite part of the build.
Bill, that is your best paint job yet! I was so afraid you were going to douse it with a brown oil wash before the end… but you didn’t!
Great build! Highly entertaining! Thank you.

Absolutely my favorite of your builds Bill! It’s awesome! And I love…
I love your sketchbook so much, your style is awesome, and its so cool to see previous videos' sketches as you flip through
(Also really entertaining video, as always :D)
Is there a scanned pdf of the sketchbook available anywhere?
@@BassoeG Better yet, a printed version?
Those speed paints look great on EVA! Gotta remember this for some kinda future project. Very cool to see this project finished after that riveting live stream
That tower section instantly reminded me of Button Moon and now i can't get that theme tune out of my head. Thanks Bill.
Awesome build! Inspiring collab
This is so beautiful! Love this build so much! Four things:
1. I might need a print of the sketch
2. Your interviews are informative and inspiring, as good as Weird Al's

4. I hope the Observer is an Observer from MST3K or a cyborg of the Stardew Valley Wizard
thank you Julie
Such a cool build. I´d love to see a follow up of you basing that beast. Cheers
The two of you are seriously my favorite content creators in the hobby, keep on doing what you're doing
Hi Bill, I'm an immigrant from Studson Studio and I am here now and I love you. Big fan of your editing, it reminds me of craft shows I watched as a kid- like art attack and stuff. Have a good day, Bill
Two super talented and entertaining dudes collaborating. Perfect
Another great Bill video, kind of weird to see him actually doing edge highlighting, that's dedication right there. Can't wait to see this Final Fantasy build from Miscast, I hope it is a Malboro.
Having seen Trent's video first, I think it makes this great content even better.

I love this build, super fun way to take care of your crabs.
Seriously…..best build you’ve done so far!
By far your very best work on this channel!
Now we get to see that sweet sweet rivet session again at significantly higher speed than it was live
Excellent father and son bonding
Bill has really outdone himself with the painting this time, especially the crab. You could take a close-up photo and it would look like tha panel of a graphic novel.
Those crab toys look like you stole them from a dusty net hung on the wall of a crusty Chesapeake Bay crab house in Maryland. 😂
Hey Bill! Awkward...yet satisfying!
Thanks for being a bloke off the beaded path!
Looks awesome!!!!! 😊
Hey Bill this is one of my favorite builds yet! Your builds really inspire my imagination. Just a little suggestion for rivets. You could use rhinestones instead of hole-punching it would save you a lot of work haha
The Hermit is now one of my favorites of your builds. So rad!
Great build. Love the paint job. More. More. More.
Cheers Sig
Wow i can't believe it's Dan Does and Jazza from Wish in one video, what a treat!
Thats "toothpaste squeezer" is actually for tubes of paint....but i guess toothpaste would work too lol.
epic work Bill. love your designs and use of colours. I was cool seeing what you did and Miscast did!
I dig that paint work…great sculpt…great presentation as usual
Good job on painting, which you hate, and also good job on the lore. Love the colors on the crab legs!
Man I have rewatched this particular build of yours an insane amount of times now.
Since the day you uploaded this.
You are awesome Bill.
Never stop crafting cool things!
Well, unless your hands fall offone day or something on those lines.
Layering, wet blending....you're turning into almost a painter.
That thing would be right at home in a Miyazaki movie. Major Howl's Moving Castle vibes, I love it!
this is amazing. I would love to see the snail building next or soon!
Oh JUNK GOD Bill please hear me although I am not worthy of your notice. Just a thought, probably not even an original thought, but hey. To really push the (rusty scrap) boat out, how about you create a war/skirmish game based on your fantastic lore. I for one would be extremely interested in such an endeavour.
Bloody billiant, mate!
Holy shit!... Bill painted something other than rusty metal. Great work on the crab shell and those domes/lenses. Our boy is all grown up... 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I think Bill’s videos are now part of my mental health routine ❤
Ever thought about making Darth Maul with his funky spider legs from starwars the clone wars? Could be a fun build bash
The editing of the interview alone was a masterpiece.
That interview was hilarious 😂
I love this build and it’s story so much !
I love it ❤ And perfect timing, I finished going through all your older videos yesterday.
That stretch the definition of a "collab" into new territory. But it was hilarious, so all is forgiven.
Bill, this has to be your best build yet. I say that having followed you almost from the start. The paint job is spectacular. You have given me so many ideas, I just wish I had time to do them all.
Most importantly, however, give my love to Cat, but not in a creepy way.
GAH. SO worth waiting for. This is so darn fun, good and just insanely fun! Thanks for making my morning. :-D
