Sarno saved me yrs ago. I was disabled for 2 yrs. Thought I would never work again. I seen him on today show after listening to him I thought who is this kook ? I realized that I had tried everything so what do I have to lose ? I read his book over and over again and did what he said to do. In a few months I was totally free of pain. I should have written him and thanked him. Sarno is a genius.

I started reading Healing Back Pain 5 days ago and I am already 80% improved from the debilitating lower back pain that I've suffered from for almost 2 years. Unbelievable. The body is not designed to experience pain that is caused by structural damage for very long. The body heals and adapts super quickly. Anything beyond a few weeks of pain is likely due to a conditioned psychosomatic pain response. The very knowledge of that fact is the cure. I was actually once introduced to this idea by a tattoo artist. When I was getting ink done on my ribcage, I started experiencing extreme sharp pain in my left elbow. I was alarmed and alerted the tattoo artist, thinking that he must have hit a nerve or vein that was somehow attached to my elbow (the exact sort of paradigm of thiking that the medical field is currently fixated on). The artist told me it was super common and that my mind was just trying to distract and displace the pain that I was experiencing on my ribcage. Of course! It all makes sense. Thank you, Dr. Sarno!

I read his book and it hasn't been a problem since. I can't say all pain is attributed to this condition but I can safely say some of all pain is attributed to this condition in my experience. b0nekko I have had recurring problems over the years and believed I was repressing my emotions. I never consciously felt anger, jealousy, envy, greed, etc. I read his first book and believed my problems could be reduced using the same methodology. His second book he put in his idea of equivalents, and it confirmed what I thought. I have had general pain sometimes in the low back, but it would go up to my neck and right shoulder. The pain would gradually disappear then I would have hip and knee pain. Those would disappear and be replaced by left big toe pain. After all that, I started getting pain in my teeth, on and off. Now, I get stomach pain and ringing in the ears. My stress and tension come from not achieving life goals, my job, and relationships. As TMS sufferers have common personality traits, I have quite a few. I am a quiet perfectionist, a big worrier, loyal to a fault to others especially family. The only difference is that I am a guy, as it seems most women have these personality traits. Hopefully, with time, all these physical issues will resolve.

Which of course stems from some type of traumatic experience (big or small) and to connect with those parts of us... thus becoming more integrated and whole! Beautiful 😊💓✨🙏🏼

Reading his book and exploring TMS has, within' a few weeks, removed a lot of my pain. I'm confident in a few more weeks I will be back to normal after nearly a year of nonstop pain. Dr Sarno should be posthumously awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and would have if the medical industrial complex wasn't such a huge money maker that wants to champion short term relief instead of curing ailments.

So lucky to have found Sarno and to be able to come back and cure my current “3 dayer” that used to plague my life, but very rarely does. This man is such a genius . I had this strange eating disorder when I turned 30 I literally was very depressed bc I was thinking my whole 20s that 30 would be this big mark to take stock of where my life was . I hit 30 had not been in a good relationship for many years missed my on off boyfriend I had no kids which I thought I'd have by 30 yet I had no boyfriend. I also hated my job a job I wanted to change for years but I was afraid to change my career . I went with my 24 yr old cousin to Vegas who wanted to go clubbing I didnt and she called me old . ( I laugh now bc 30 is not old and shes 34 today lol) I hated being 30. I was so lonely . I started drinking a lot after work too much . Then one day I couldnt swallow a sandwich . It got in my head that i was choking on food . I stopped eating . I was freaking out i was sure it was something wrong in my throat . I had several tests done to see if i had webbing or a blockage had every test nothing was in my throat but i became afraid to Eat. My drs told me to see a shrink . I went and he was convinced my brain created this eating problem to force me to get help. After a lot of therapy I slowly started eating and made huge changes to my life . The eating thing went away . So I think this is similar to what dr sarno is talking about with back pain. We foc us than on the physical problem instead of the emotional one. Mine was my mind getting my attention to get some help and change my life

Guys, for people who have already seen docs and know they fore sure have TMS and are not getting better. I was there as well, for around 2 years. I've reads books, watched videos, etc...
For me what's really helping is going mobilization exercises. Simple stuff: lying in bed with bent knees, slowing taking them together side to side(this helps me A LOT when my back gets locked). Also other mobilizing exercises, and also going on walks. This slowly makes your brain understand movements are safe, little by little, and if you do get tensed up, locked up, go back to bed, knees together, slowly side to side, apply arnica cream, and get at it!
I'm getting better by the day. Sometimes I'm a little more stiff, it's not a straight line in order to get better, but all in all I'm improving a lot, and been doing this for a month!

Now I have some other issues with my right leg being weaker the other.
No back issues since then, and when they happen, I do the mobility exercises!
BTW, I also do them everyday even if I'm feeling good!

The downfall of allopathic medicine, as Dr. Sarno mentioned, since the 1950s was steeped in ego and greed. We have a long way to go to right the ship but it’s getting there. We’re learning that most chronic illnesses are mind-body related. I rarely recommend putting all of one’s eggs in one basket but if you’re suffering you owe it to yourself to fully commit to Dr. Sarno’s findings. Feeling good is your birthright. Wishing you a full recovery❤
