This is SO true: I suffer from specifically health anxiety that manifest only if I have any unusual torso symptoms. It caused chest pain, almost constant irregular heartbeats and I was convinced I was dying untill I understood that I was causing the symptoms. Course I still work on it 😁 mine started when I was 4 and was ill - I'm 63 now and I look back at all the ECGs I've had and I feel sorry for my younger self not knowing any better. Our brains are so powerful.

I’m better, but still not great.
Had severe insomnia, sleep anxiety x 13 years. Relearning not to fear being awake. Making progress. Years of lack of sleep have caused major muscle stiffness/soreness, which resulted in plantar fasciitis, then chronic back pain. I’m caught in that loop. The chronic pain helped to decrease the hyperarousal around sleep, but I’m still not getting restorative sleep so I awake with stiffness, pain, fatigue.
Background that I believe is healed, was definitely anxiety/fear.
    -severe depression
    -complex PTSD
    -narcissistic abuse
-sjogrens syndrome, lupus, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia
-lack of boundaries, people pleasing, perfectionism, codependency
    -fear, fear, fear

Do you listen to Thought by Thought Healing? On RUclips and podcasts. She's been extremely helpful for me and in fact, that's how I ended up here; she interviewed him on her channel.
The journey to wellness is not as difficult as I once thought. It's people who have gone through what you or I have gone through - who are leading us OUT of pain/sickness! Thank God

You sound like me, but I also have trigeminal neuralgia caused by dental surgery. Good news is I healed my interstitial cystitis for the most part after a decade of having it there was no RUclips back then I did some of this stuff like getting off the Internet, moving away from a toxic relationship, dropping all support groups the typical ones back then they were depressing, and just doing some fun things exploring southern California. It happens so fast it was literally unnoticeable by me I just woke up one day and said oh my gosh I don’t have the pain anymore that burning pain when I sit the burning pain when I pee constant. Didn’t work for my trigeminal neuralgia though which makes me think maybe it is nerve damage. Calming down my nervous system does help though. Not many success stories with this I’ve read five but they’ve only had a short time I’ve had mine 20 years yikes. I really hope you’re doing better I had narcissistic abuse as well that’s a Tuffy. And PTSDEverything you listed pretty much. I still have fibro but it doesn’t bother me too much, I stopped all the expensive trigger point therapy that I spent 100 grand on I thought I was gonna die when I stopped but it actually helped me to stop.

Awesome channel, Jim. Really great content. I hope to do some 1-on-1 with you in the new year.
Quick question. What if you get physical symptoms beyond pain, such as knots, fibrous muscles, clicking / popping, tension/tightness and areas locking up and restricting movement, like shoulder / neck when flared up?
How does the mind create these physical complaints?
It's been going on for 10 years, so it's not injury, would have cleared up by now.

It can be coming from the brain perceiving Danger and years of trauma and stress in my life

I feel really sorry for chronic pain patients. It makes zero sense to me that if we can't figure out what is going on with someone, that it is automatically deemed central sensitization. That type of thinking goes against the fundamentals of science. If we don't know what something is, we don't know what something is. We don't throw it into a central sensitization bucket because we can't figure it out. Central sensitization should be a rule in condition with objective diagnostic testing. Medicine is in the Stone ages, relatively speaking, when it comes to diagnosing conditions. There are numerous unknown conditions out there for which we do not have objective testing for yet. But yet, we're going to throw it into the central sensitization bucket which can harm the person.
And this mantra of being against pharmaceutical options is flat out dangerous. So many people are going to lose their lives because of this dangerous rhetoric, and that's all this is.
It's a bunch of pseudoscientific nonsense that is spreading like a cancer, harming patients everywhere.

    • @phoebe8821
      @phoebe8821 9 дней назад

And let's not forget, that the majority of chronic illnesses affect women. Medicine historically treats women as hysterical. Women were not required to be included in medical research until the 1990s. So to sit here and say that if we can't figure it out it's just central sensitization? When really only 30 years of research has been done on women?
This type of thinking that you have, is why it takes women 10 years to get diagnosed with endometriosis, and on average 7 years to get diagnosed with a rare disease, and on average 14 years to get diagnosed with ehlers danlos syndrome and other connective tissue disorders.
The ignorance of your field is on full display.
