- This is exactly what I've been looking for, a modern prefab home that's being built in America and available now. Last week a took a quick trip over to Spanish Fork, Utah to see a modular home provider that's been building for over 40 years and can deliver homes in a reasonable timeline. The company is called Irontown Homes and they a line of homes to choose from as well as the ability to take on custom projects. In this video I do a quick tour of their factory then check out a great looking modern prefab home that is on display at their factory. Watch to learn more about Irontown Homes and the Cabana 500, a modern prefab home that I think people are going to like!

Kerry’s jokes are getting better each episode haha - enjoying the edu-tainment
Are you sure the jokes are getting better or are you just getting used to them ? 😏 jk, K 😜
yes im with u i dont laugh easy but i did a few times on this one
This is the kind of entertainment the world needs right now.
"Rock-hard bag of brown sugar that was used for one recipe that probably didn't turn out." I feel called out. That aside, I enjoy the walk-through.
Haha! I have it too
Being more uppity, my concrete-which-was-once-brown-sugar is in a canister. Probably forever.
#Metoo 😂 When he said that I felt it.
@@jamesengland7461 😂 😂
It must be universal. 😂 It is a great comment to illustrate we don’t need all the storage we think we need. I have a friend who is a great chef. She downsized to a tiny unit and was able to satisfy all her cooking needs into, like, three utensils. It was a badge of honor for her.
ok I am ready to purchase. No mother-in-law included either. Wait, I am the mother-in-law.
haha!
That was funny lol
BAHAHAHA!
Now that's a cool sounding M-in-L !
Very nice ADU, Kerry. Great walk through. The price is pretty good. Just not to ship to NB.
The best part of these videos is your low-key humor/jokes.
This is an absolute winner, well found Terry😊
Glad you like it
It's Kerry, not Terry.
I love the front porch. I would screen it and use it as my main living space. I just need a second bedroom for a library, study, spare bed.
This is definitely a nicely layed out floor plan. A couple of suggestions: 1.) get rid of the nightstands, move the bed over and add a dresser for more clothes. Leave the washer and dryer. The dining table, install one like a murphy bed style table, which folds up when not in use. Bottomline - great job Kerry.
i agree on the dresser but i would put the table right next to the kichen sink section and put the couch where the table is so i can have my desk office space on the wall to the right when u come in
@@pinky1068: as can be seen from @6:36, there would not be enough passing space if you move the table and chairs next to the kitchen run.
While I agree with the dining table suggestion, I truly dislike the trend towards pushing beds up into a corner. Obviously you haven’t been the one wrestling a fitted sheet on all four corners of a bed. I don’t mind if one side has a pretty narrow aisle, but I need to be able to get to both sides of the bed to make and unmake it.
Its just me so it would work great@@eattherich9215
Absolutely do not leave the washer/dryer. I'm not hauling off to the laundromat every week.
Kerry, Super ! And the only thing almost as rewarding as food to my Lab Guide Dog is when I laugh, and you had me chuckling throughout this video. I appreciate your good humor as you guide us (a Guide Dog pun?) through each home. This one is Great ! Thinking about where his dog bed will go. Thanks Heaps, for all your work.
Couple of minor quibbles. First, I'd move the washer/dryer to a new cupboard at the outside wall counter in the kitchen. Moving it from the bedroom to the living room means a load can be running at night will I am sleeping. Second, I'd go from a stackable to a single w/d combo to provide countertop space for folding. Third, and this shows no one has taken a shower in that bathroom, I'd flip the pipes to the inside wall to prevent freezing and to have the faucet reachable from the door without being IN the shower so one isn't hit with a blast of cold water turning on the shower. In the current configuration, one has to reach in all the way and get hit with cold water while adjusting the fixtures.
Beautiful little house. Perfect!!! Thank you for a great video tour. Well done. I give both a “10.”
Thank you so much!
This is just no-nonsense and perfect. Thank you!
Thank you! Glad you like it
You are correct, it does look much bigger than the stated square footage. Reasonably priced too.
whats the price before shipping on the base model
Thanks, Kerry! That’s the most promising house yet! I especially like the optional folding glass wall for Arizona.
Oh yeah it would be perfect there
I agree, and also own vacant acreage in Scottsdale, AZ, with amazing and unobstructed views of the Four Peaks. This would be awesome on that property!
Just a tadTo expensive but you cracked me up AND you travelled…so thumbs up! Also still a good price for nearly 500 sqft small home. Although Smaller homes really SHOUD cost less. Most looking for a small home are trying to cut costs but it’s more per sqft then a traditional home.🏠 price gauging needs to stop, I know…supply vs demand But banks are closing everywhere, they need tower prices before we hit a depression.
Yeah every modular/PREFAB home maker will talk for hours about the efficiencies in their process, but they come with a price point well above the $ per SQFT of traditional homes. Keep in mind nothing was mentioned about LAND/setup/Foundation/landscaping etc. Your looking at a $200K+ home for 500 SQFT.
They gotta do better if the goal is really affordable housing.
@@xSayPleasex well said. right now in middle America we can buy a 1200 sqft 70’s era ranch in middle America with land that’s livable for $75 to $135 k. They are catering to the middle to upper middle class simply because it’s something they don’t own yet and it’s a trend that low income housing started. Most (not all) of These people have disposable income want a WFH Workspace , investment, man cave - barbie house or a dorm vs an apartment for their kids. I’m seeing 1600 sqft tiny homes for $500k and upwards.
Kerry, you are so unbelievably funny without trying hard to be.
Thank you 🙌🏼
I like this option even with the conversion from USD to CDN, quality product with a name brand behind it.
Absolutely
This is a really nice home, the only changes I'd make would be to take out the wall to the right of the stove and put in a small bar, it'd open the kitchen up, add counter space and be a convenient pass-through to the dining area, and I'd put in larger and taller windows above the kitchen sink, it'd provide much more light and make that narrow kitchen feel much more open. Outstanding review as always!
Great prefab home. It has one of the best bathrooms of any prefab model out there IMO. I assume the frosted window is an easy fix. 🚽🪟
The kitchen is great. It has all of the desired appliances and is efficient with the space. 🧑🍳
The living room is solid. I’d go with an L shaped couch. And of course the huge tv. 📺
As always Kerry, I love the walk through of both the home and the factory. It really does give a great sense of you get if you purchase from that company. Top notch update. Until the next one. 🙌 😎
I love an L shaped couch! Good call
You can frost the window yourself with a can of spray stuff.
Great looking home and very reasonably priced! 👍
Thank you Kerry....nice review as always and thank you for starting off with the price at the beginning. Very nice home, well priced and presented.
Thank you for what you do.
Thanks for watching
Really do like it, put it on the list of homes I want. Extra points for delivery in the
region I have been thinking
about moving to. 😻
great! thanks for watching
Very livable and stylish. The all on one level layout is much better than the loft bed concept IMO. The shed style roof is good at preventing leaks and snow accumulation. I would spring for the folding doors. It really makes the place feel bigger and modern. I like how you jovially knocked down all the usual criticisms, Kerry. It kills me when people make comments about “not enough this” and “not enough that.” IT’S A TINY HOME. You downsize and smart size your possessions FFS.
Sitting on that porch eating a cheeseburger? I like it! Not my fave, but very doable!
This one is a winner, but not for the reasons you might assume. The price is in the sweet spot because a home can even be bought twice to create a 2-bedroom.
The other reason is your presentation. I think you found your calling. The Vanna White walk-thru with your killer humor made the video a must replay. Seriously though, I think the live guide style, the bed stretch faux measure, and the living room daydreams in U2 shades are great details that made this video as enjoyable to view as the house is engaging to learn about. Great video and great house! 👍🏾
That one looks good and pricing is reasonable. Thanks for this video. Very funny while explaining it !!
140k is reasonable for 500sq ft? Ill pass.
And thank you for making this video I have enjoy. I have learn so much about learn so much about prefab homes.👍🏼💗🏡
Glad you enjoyed it!
You are so welcome bor.👍🏼🏡
"I think this is a queen bed ... ... "I don't actually have any reference on what me laying across a bed is gonna tell me." - that made me chuckle out loud.
To the topic at hand, I like this design; just wish the living space was a little bigger. It'd be ideal if the space for the front porch could be used as part of the interior living space.
That would be nice! I bet they’d do it
I always thought they left the bathroom windows with regular glass let more light in for the model units.
Maybe they just do it so they can charge extra for opaque glass.
You can always buy rolls of frosted tint at the hardware store.
We wouldn't want you to get arrested for overexposure ! 😏
Kerry, that place is a winner, and man do I love that front entrance. Great video bye the way Kerry, you have a great, classy, and informative video format down to a science.
Thank you kindly! The entrance is a show stopper for sure
My favorite home yet! Just perfect!
Glad you like it!
one of the best you've found!...great design, finishes and pricing.
Glad you like it!
Oh wow, this is great. First one that I've seen that covers all my needs and is affordable. 2 thumbs way up!!
What about this is affordable? A new build costs this much or less...
Another Kerry gem. You make me laugh everytime! Love the porch area and layout. They might want to invest in a pro stager to really show how beautiful the interior could be. Thanks for hitting the road again!
I just looked my fav is the San ConJo
That's a nice one, thanks for the tour, Kerry ! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching
They make really nice privacy films now that are easy to apply - so you could add privacy to those windows yourself for a really affordable price. I really like this home except for the galley kitchen - I hate Galley kitchens, but it's not a deal breaker in this case because there is quite a bit of counter space on either side of the sink, and adequate on either side of the cooktop. I love having the stackable washer & dryer next to the closet - pull clothes out of the dryer and immediately hang them up or put them away in the dresser you could place next to the window as you enter the bedroom. I absolutely love the curb-less shower. The floating vanity looks nice but lacks drawers - drawers are more functional in most cases (I need drawers for all the girly stuff). I like all the windows in this home and the fact that some of them can be opened to let in fresh air is a bonus (some of the prefab companies are putting in casement windows that don't open along with the type that crank out - screens and egress from the bedroom in case of fire or whatever are a must folks). I fear the transportation costs across to the east coast where I live may price these out of the market for me unless I only get the base model.
Looks great!
glad you like it!
I believe that you are the realest and best spokesperson about prefabricated housing.!
Thank you 😊
Slightly more appealing than a mobile home
YEAH! I love this little house and I live in Salt Lake so I can actually go down and take a look at this one. We want to retire in Maine, so that would be quite a moving price, but might be worth it depending on how much. Love those front doors. Thanks for sharing this.
I really like this one. The changes that I would make include having the closet include the washer and dryer. If a single person lived in this unit, they could have two side-by-side units and still have room to hang close over the appliances as well as longer items on the left-hand side. If this were on the East Coast of the US, I might be interested. I am curious to see the next size up, which I was hoping was the unit right next to the one you showed us. Cheers! Len
You don’t want your clothes in a moist and heated environment. That is why W/D are never located there. Your clothes would grow mold.
I like it...perfect for a retiree
Totally
I had them bookmarked I guess I found awhile back unless you reviewed before anyway great find!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes did a video on them in October I believe
wow the finished in the bath wow
Right!
Ive been looking at Irontown for a couple of years...this is GREAT to see up close and in person!
Awesome!
Hey out of all the prefab homes you shown this is the coolest one . How much would a two-bedroom would be.👍🏼🏡💵
Good question, not sure off the top of my head. You’d have to check with them
You welcome. And when you going to start showing some of the two bedrooms prefab homes.
Inquiring minds want to know.
200000 usd
Nicely designed & executed. High for an unfinished shed thing, but pretty good for a real house, the direction we're seeing these days....
A lot to love on this one. Dealbreaker for me though is having to go through the bedroom to the bathroom. That's just creepy to me for guests to be in there. People are nosy. lol I also need an entry closet for coats/boots/etc, esp in winter. Bigger closet is a given. Were I not me though, lol, this is a solid lil house for someone who doesn't have much stuff.
Wow. Love. ❤️
Glad to hear it!
I’m googling how far from Spanish Fork my desired property is in WA. 👍👍
It's nice and stylish. The featureless white walls aid to the feeling of looking expansive without having a cluttered cramp look. The fancy eight grand door looks nice and lends to the look of the front entrance plus when opened all the way up makes the living room area look that more expansive. For the bathroom window I'd probably go for the LCD technology style window that can turn opaque at the flick of a switch. I'd still want an additional room/office space/pantry/workshop/storage room of sorts to accommodate my lifestyle. I think they knocked it out of the ballpark on overall design, build, and finish and price.
I really love how your humor is coming to the surface. You were cracking me up.
Love this! Great video walk through.
Yes! I would definitely buy one!
Glad you like it
I really like this place! The kitchen has everything you need with enough counter space. Great bedroom/bathroom set up. Large area for entertaining. I wouldn't change a thing other that whatever furniture placement someone prefers. Thanks for showing. The backdrop of the snow covered mountains was worth the price of admission.
Spent many years living in studio apartments. That kitchen is a dream. There is so much countertop, a French door full-size fridge, dishwasher, and lots of storage.
And most importantly, a window over the sink!
Really lovely.
Great walk through!! Thanks, Kerry.
Thanks for watching 🙌🏼
Excellent video…..as always! I appreciate you and your work!!! Thank you!
I love this unit. Love your vids.
Thank you 😊
I would want the mixer tap for the shower moved away from under the shower head. When you turn the tap on, you'll get cold water on tou. Apart from that, it's very nice. I agree about the bathroom window glass.
Wow! I am impressed. Love your videos, Kerry, keep’em comin’ 😊
Thank you! Will do!
I love it! In today’s market I think the price is very reasonable. The only thing I’d like to change is having a bathtub. Also I’d love to see a 2-bedroom option.
Love the sarcastic humor. How a review should be done. To the point and highlighting what’s important and stuff one could care less about.
Thank you 🙏🏻
I actually don’t understand why horizontal windows aren’t more popular, at least in bedrooms & baths for privacy, plus better furniture placement in bedroom.
Great showing and humor! Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great video, Kerry!! Thanks for the info!!
You make me laugh! Your humor brings me joy ❤
Glad to hear it, thank you 😃
I really like this one Kerry! Though for me, I would rather have a front door and window instead of the open concept. Leaves more room for some furniture. I am an artist so I would locate my desk facing out of the front. Plus, did you notice how that door jutted out onto the deck? I have a galley kitchen now, and never thought I would fall in love with it, but I have. Sooooo easy to cook in. This one is a perfect size and layout. I too, love the bathroom with the walk-in shower and tile floor into the shower drain. I love the layout of the washer and dryer too. The slanted roof is perfect for Vermont snow fall. This one is definitely a favorite of mine so much so, that I am going to check out their website. Once again Kerry, you go above and beyond for all of us. Thank you so much and I hope your Monday morning starts off well and leads into an amazing week. Be well and happy everyone! ps morning coffee is always better with one of your fantastic videos!!
Dude this is a good one! A++
I always love these when they have a over hang thingy
Definitely going on my top 10 list! Also, 2 friends and 1 acquaintance…my introverted soul appreciates this comment more than one should😂
One of the biggest things people forget about when downsizing to a place like this you don't have that closet space for next seasons clothes vacuum cleaners extra blankets just extra stuff when you downsize to something like this it will quickly make you realize how little you actually need to survive which will extensively free you up financially
Right? You don’t do “extra.” You don’t have a vacuum cleaner, you have a broom. You have a capsule wardrobe that layers, you have multifunctional kitchen utensils like the “Always” pan, and nesting items. You fold clothes on your bed, not a laundry room counter top. You don’t have thousands of beauty products. You have soap and moisturizer, shampoo and conditioner. You don’t buy in bulk, and you conserve.
I’m impressed. Would love to add this as an ADU for my brother to live in . He’s struggling as a teachers aide in a low income area and he’s almost 60 yrs old . I worry about him being able to retire . This is plenty of space for his inside use . Plus he can share my backyard and park in my garage . I bet the permits would be hell to get here in California.
be interested to see other layouts (and colour options)
That’s beautiful with a price that is reasonable depending on shipping. Thank you for reading and working towards the lower price for us. The porch and roof slant are fantastic! Hoping they can put a tub in instead.
I agree with your assessment of this model! I like it all!!
Thank you very much!
This one is awesome. I would love this as a weekend mountain getaway.
For sure!
I really like that entrance with the covered porch and sliding doors. Utah very central to entire W Coast so makes perfect sense…
Thanks for watching!
I knew you were in Utah before you even said so!
one of the best ive seen in a long time, id love this home with another room added, it would be perfect
glad you like it!
Checks the boxes for us. Thanks Kerry.
(Also, fwiw, shout out to Utah... northern has some of the States best peaks and ranges, and southern has some of the most beautiful red rock and canyons on earth as well as a piece of the colorado river which is no small contributor to its geological splendor (checks "splendor" off the word-of-the-day list) and a giant lake with a spiral art installation... beehive indeed.)
It was very scenic!!
Wow, that was awesome. It's definitely worth looking at. heading to the website now.
Thanks for watching
I’m really liking this small model! Thanks, Terry!!
you bet! Thanks for watching
Home run, Kerry! 🏠🏃 Emphasis on the home. 😉 I should make Toll House choc-chip cookies before I have cupboard concrete
Haha! Definitely 🍪
Love it . I want one
Very nice I dig this one
You're so funny in an understated way. Thanks for your videos!
Thanks Kathryn, appreciate that 😃
Nice. If you're cost conscious, maybe go with standard sliding doors or a a nice door with glass and large window with sections that open or with a regular door and a standard sliding glass door. You could also add space in the bedroom by using a combo washer/dryer and having a small cabinet with hangers or drawers above where the dryer would normally be. And upright dresser or armoire should be able to fit in the bedroom easily for additional space for clothing. Definitely add the privacy glass or nice blinds in the bath. I would trade the shower for a nice small soaking tub with shower head over.. One of the best affordable units I have seen. Nice job as usual Kerry.
That 6:02 shot made us double take a few times. 😂
For a 140k,I think it's really good. I would have to say it's much better than a lot of the homes that you see for a lot more
An amazing starter/retirement home. Thank you so much for sharing this with us all and the price up-front.
You get! Thanks for watching
Love the walk through 😊 beautiful design and scenery 🗻 keep up the fantastic work 🥇🏆☺️
thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
THANK YOU SO MUCH for telling the price up front! It doesn't matter how much I like it, it is "outer space" beyond what I could even dream of affording! Thank you for not wasting my time!!!!
You’re welcome 👊🏻
That's a winner for sure. Thanks
You bet!
The prefabricated houses are very beautiful and comfortable. Thank you for taking me to visit these beautiful house models. A modern and professional factory manufacturing prefabricated houses.
Thank you!
Wow! This one’s pretty cool! I really like that you’re not looking at dirty pots & pans while enjoying a meal. Definitely would rearrange the furniture, but these are really coming along! Price is not too bad (if only closer to East coast), but transport might be reasonable, idk? Was there a larger one to the left of it? Btw, really a super video on these, so enjoyable.
Thank you! The one beside it is a bit smaller and a park model but I do have a video about it coming in the next week or so
Very nice house. It looks large than it is. Good job, as always!
Thanks John!
I’d enjoy being the one acquaintance. I’d love to see some of the homes you’ve found in person, although at my advanced 70 plus age I’m very unlikely to ever buy or live in one.
Hey ! Watch who you're calling advanced there, missy !
I'm not that far off. 😉
@@dalegereaux1863 I’m still very mature in many ways, so I guess it balances out.
Immature…autocorrect
❤❤❤,especially the bathroom & porch✨
thanks Kerry, agree re kitchen. looks awesome.
Glad you like it!
This s a great look at this prefab home. I like pretty well everything, the washer/dryer would be in a good location too.
great job, Kerry! I think by now we realize most of the super cool units are pricy but worth it IF you have the $ and it fits your property and life style! I love this one and many you show us! But not BOX not ABLE! But we shall see?!?!
Thank you! Appreciate you tuning in 😃
