  • Sir Andy Murray's Lasting Legacy
Murray’s professional life has been a testament to his unbelievable work ethic and desperation to prove the doubters wrong. And yet, what really sets Murray apart from others is the man behind the racquet.
The many titles he won will remain etched against his name, and he will leave behind many treasured memories for the success-starved fans in Great Britain. But his true legacy to the wider sporting world will be in his consistent and persistent drive for gender equality and progressive values, a torch he will pass on to others who come after him.
There have been few ambassadors for tennis quite as great as Andy Murray.

Well done! You really understand why those of us who love him LOVE him. Obviously we admire him for his passion for tennis & his work ethic, but it's more than his tennis game. He's a funny compassionate person who strives to make the world better, & he has the courage to be outspoken instead of playing it safe & remaining silent.

He's a good lad. Well done Andy in everything you achieved in the toughest era of men's tennis ever. For people ribbing him for his personality and anti-englishisms.....give it a rest, god forbid a sportsman actually has a personality....ohh and his wife is English.....so clearly he's better at trolling the media than you think :)

Never liked Andy's personality of coart but credit where credit is due - he should have been one of those challenging Novak today or being with him in the top three along with Delpo...such a shame injuries ruined this.

Yeah that’s right mate he was number one for 42 weeks. It was a Big 1 not a big 4 at that point.

Big 4 was never about number of titles, it was about who were consistently making semi finals and finals of tournaments and so between 2010 ish and 2016, there absolutely was a big 4.
