      The fear of God comes from loving Him and wanting to please him in our lifestyle. Relating with him and serving him because we know he love Him. But, being afraid of God is trying to please him because we want Him to love us. Like we're trying to earn his love and acceptance @SydneyLovePJBJ

    I’m only 23 minutes in and this interview is really surprising me… I’m one of those people that stopped listening to Kirk’s new music because it just didn’t have that anointing in my opinion like his old stuff… I also stepped back from his ministry in general because he comes off as so worldly… Listening to him now and him saying “I don’t always get it right” really touched me, because none of us do. I know I won’t agree but he seems really genuine. Thank you for this interview!!!

      When y’all say worldly what do y’all mean? I am convinced that 99% of Christians don’t understand what the word means when it speak’s of the world.

    • @AviMarie21
      @AviMarie21 4 месяца назад +14

      @@B1dadawn actually we do, the Bible says “be in the world, not of the world.” So yes when someone like Kirk Franklin that says he has been called into ministry and you do something’s that don’t align with the teachings of Jesus, yes your witness is called into question… To the naked eye he doesn’t look set apart. Now that’s not to say he isn’t, only God knows his heart and only God can judge him, but that doesn’t mean in MY OPINION TO ME he comes off worldly sometimes or he has changed a lot TO ME since his 90s music. TO ME a lot of these gospel artists especially the mainstream ones have conformed, in my opinion, and I don’t judge, but if it doesn’t resonate with me I just won’t listen.

      @@AviMarie21 There is no way you could know unless you were hanging around him on a daily basis. Worldly behavior is not an external thing. It’s internal. It’s seen in the character of a person. For example, The worldly mindset says eye for an eye, Jesus says forgive those who’s wronged you. Worldly traits are, jealousy, envy, hate, fornicators, liars, unforgiving, deceit, and etc. it’s seen in the character of a person, not the clothes he wears, not because he dances, and not because you’ve seen him around unbelievers. Most believers don’t know that being worldly means behaviors that are opposite of the fruit of the spirit. It’s seen in the character of a man. I don’t know what his day to day walk look like because I’m not around him enough to see. I just don’t understand how folks can judge that unless you’re constantly around him.

    • @AviMarie21
      @AviMarie21 4 месяца назад +10

      @@B1dadawn I can understand where you’re coming from and I would agree that we don’t know him, I don’t know that man personally I don’t know how he conducts himself in his private life and that’s fine that’s why I said “God knows his heart” so that’s between Kirk and his God. However God has given me wisdom and discernment and based off some of the things I’ve seen just comes off as worldly, I don’t think he is a bad person I just don’t align with somethings he does… But that’s not just him preachers too, but he is doing the interview.
      Let’s move away from him and just another example… because you gave me a list of traits and why we shouldn’t say he seems or comes off as worldly…. I you saw me on the corner with next to nothing on waiver cars down, you would assume or I would give off the appearance as a prostitute. Now you don’t know me, you don’t know me you don’t know my character, but all appearance I look like what I look like you don’t know me at the core of my being, but based of your discernment and life experience you can make a fare assumption. Lol my example might be extreme but I say that to say, ppl are going to judge based off what we see or what you present to them. It is what it is.

      @@AviMarie21 serious question…do we not all do things that “don’t align with the teachings of Jesus”? Sin does not align with the teachings of Jesus yet we ALL do it. I think the difference here is Kirks life is on display for so many to see AND judge. His falling short May look different than yours, however it’s still all falling short. None of us are exempt no matter how much we may “look” set apart. Some people expect you to stand like this, dress like that, speak like this. I think that’s where “religion” comes in and people focus more on appearance than the heart. Thank God his judgment is the only one that truly matters. You can only imagine how Jesus was judged by some when he was seen with certain people.

    1 John 2:15-17
    Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

Because I barely know a single artist in these circles that doesn’t report back with the same struggles that Kirk talked about here. Mention an artist that’s in the same kinds of circles that Kirk puts himself in, and then come back and talk.

There are more but I think I've proven my point. You can serve God, preach the gospel through your music, and NOT dance around stage like a stripper. I also have my personal experiences being a backslide, getting truly saved, and going back to the friends/places I used to go, and being able to stand strong and not go back to anything I used to do.
      When you're born again, you're supposed to be delivered from the world and it's temptations. Christians have been doing it for over a millennium.

    I’m so tired of people calling Christians “religious” as an insult when it’s usually believers who genuinely want to be holy and set apart from this world just like Christ was and is. People who try to label authentic followers of Christ as “Pharisees” don’t understand that we are now the temple of God, and quite frankly, don’t respect God’s holiness and purity. I’m so glad that Jesus loves sinners because we all are, but His desire is not that we remain under sins power; and that includes this evil pop culture.
    “Go and sin no more” -Jesus - after forgiving and defending the woman caught in adultery.
    “Whoever says he abides in Him (Jesus), ought to walk in the same way He walked.” -1 John 2:6
    “but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.””

      Agreed. I wonder if anyone has ever done a real deep dive study into the Pharisees. I've heard the Jesus is black whole thing, and I get it. But the pharisees: who led by laws over love. Condemnation of acts of sin over love and compassion. Even ignoring the message and demonstrations of Jesus and his presence. Fast forward to today, what Jesus preached is still being ignored. As a people, we are choosing perfection as a Christian label, instead of relationship. We are making it our personal practice to critique with bitterness, void of any compassion or love...and have the audacity to say God's wrath will fall on someone who does not fit your perspective. I have read my Bible several times, and continue daily...Where did Jesus show you this example? It was sooo much more important to save a soul from hell and damnation than to bitterly destroy someone with words because of the action of sin. He judged the sin, not the person. He spent time with the person. Not a single disciple or prophet that God chose stopped sinning before or during their journey. Because it was a journey till the day they died. After all the crap David went through to step into his destiny, he still sinned. God corrected him, but he didn't destroy him. Paul? Has anyone read about Paul, beyond the Bible? The Bible will direct you to books of kings that you can read also. If you don't fully understand God's wrath, don't speak it. He's not a bodyguard that will strike on your demand or words. And we should never say that as it can involve more than just that person, including you since you are involving yourself and using this straight forward measure of judgement, thinking it's okay. My father said to walk in love with people. You don't know who he has his hands on. It is very difficult to be transparent and serve God on a public stage in this world and our culture. We are the hardest critics. Please stop. Most of our Christian singers, writers have and are dealing with depression, abusive past, abandonment, etc. Yet God still chose them. He knows they are not perfect. It doesn't matter how long you live on this earth, you will never be 100% void of sin. You will always struggle with something. Let God handle the something. I can't even see Kirk clothes or dancing when I hear his music because the words have me on my knees in worship to God. Because I'm in my relationship with God. Thankyou Jesus for using all of us in your way. Thankyou for confirmations, love. Thankyou for the Kirk Franklin's, Lecraes, Brandon Lakes. Thankyou for using them. Please protect and lead them God. If it's anything you see, that is not of you, show them and all of us, your ways. Be gracious and merciful God. I love you. Thank you for using people just like me. ❤

    Listening to Kirk when I first learned about Jesus is what helped light my fire and determination to get to know and be a part of the Kingdom of the Most High. Songs like Stomp and The Reason Why I sing helped me to transition from worldly music - that was familiar, yet unhealthy - to a genre that I could relate to and help me get to know Christ when I was still concerned about what people would think about my drastic change.
    24 years later, I don't always follow what the naysayers are talking about via social media however, I had to stop by to see what was being said about Mr. Franklin. We have to remember that everyone has a part to play when harvesting fruit for the Kingdom. Kirk has a gift to be able to reach the hard to reach fruits. It is through his music we are able to begin exploring all the different artists and genres that gospel music has to offer; like Be Be and Ce Ce or Brandon Lake. So, if he needs a tank top and tight jeans while gardening for God, let him cook! 😜 🙌🏾 I praise God for his obedience to our Heavenly Father. May he continue to be blessed and may his rewards be equivalent to the number of those he has helped to save. ❤

    I feel for Kirk Franklin’s spirit, deeply. Reading some of these comments alone, I can’t imagine having my own personal walk with God scrutinized, sliced, diced and (mis)interpreted by millions of Christians (and non-Christians) around the world.
    Try to consider empathy, Grace and humility before you consider throwing stones. What would we say about you and your Christ-likeness if your every move was broadcast as widely as any famous Gospel celebrity? And if you still feel the burning need to put them down publicly, try praying for them first. We still believing in prayer or just condemnation?🤔
    Sadly, it’s reading many of these comments that made me remember why I feel safer and happier away from “Church community”.

    Caught his convo with Tim Ross on the Basement, and mahn! I feel bad for him. It's definitely hard being a Christian in public...these Christians sure hit at their own hard!. 😢😢 All those saying oh he interacts with non-Christians and collabos with them and ministers in their events...please explain how you believe Jesus as Savior yet He was crucified with thieves🤔

      @@socb5642 you think so? Jesus should have chosen anywhere else to be crucified, just like "Christians" want Christians to choose where to do ministry. Or aren't both scenarios about communicating God and all He is?

      @@LornaNjosh-cc8ns Ofc Jesus came for sinners(all of us basically) but what I am saying is loving rebuke is good(I am not talking about kirk but generally) you can hang out with worldly people but you must not act like them.

      @@socb5642 and my problem is, why are we constatntly rebuking? Like, is there never a reason, room or need to encourage, applaud and support those shining the light of Jesus in dark places? Why is rebuke ALWAYS more than applaud? Why is the first instinct always to find fault?🤷‍♀️

    A very needed conversation! 23:25 got real... I mean, the whole thing was real. But... you feel me. Dealing with the root of bitterness is a necessity when the church be buggin like that regularly. Thank you for being who you are.
