    I can relate to everything Kirk is saying. I met my biological father at age 29. Although I was happy, I knew it wasn't going to be peaches and cream because we spent time getting to know one another. During the time, he fell ill and died 3 years ago from kidney failure at the ripe age of 75. But I did get the answer I was looking for which was he always wanted to be in my life, but my mom was the one that stopped it. Therefore, I understand Mr. Franklin better.

Praying for healing for Kirk and his family. ❤

  • @sourcingsailor4987

    I 100% agree with Shannon, when he told Kirk, "You can't blame her for giving you up, when she was 15-years-old, because most 15-year-old girls can't even take care of themselves."
    However, that 15-year-old, eventually became a 25-year-old, a 35-year-old and a a 45-year-old, who had to want to know what became of their child and more.
    That's where I blame her.
    She was old enough AND knew the truth where she could have contacted Kirk and told him the truth.
    Even if she didn't know Rick was Kirk's dad, she should have openly asked Mr. Rick to swab, just to find out, when the rumors started.
    That's where I hold blame.

    I can truly see the sovereignty and the grace of God in helping Kurt Franklins healing process. Giving him deliverance in levels of his life. Removing generational trauma, curses, rejection and egotism. Because pain he bares is carried by his mother also. Now that he has started the process of therapy to speak openly about his experiences and mental anguish. He and his biological mother will eventually communicate about her pain filled emotional baggage. Fear, denial, pride, embarrassment or feelings of guilt. God will be glorified in Kurt’s Testimonies because he will eventually be made whole. And the demons chained to his bloodline will be set free. He just has to take the deed and title back to his life as a healed and healthy man. Then his soul can be restored as psalms 23 proclaims. Amen Kurt 🙏🏿
    Kudos to Shannon for having a platform to share his wisdom he gained from his painful experience as well. Beauty from the Ashes.

    I think his mother didn't know who the father was so in her mind Dwight was the father. She's in denial and most likely don't know how to handle the situation, remember she was 15 when she got pregnant so most likely she's got her own trauma from being pregnantat that age. Shannon is right Kirk should reach out to Debra.

      Debra is emotionally dangerous to Kirk. He has no obligation to reach out to a woman who only adds to his pain with each interaction. No one has to volunteer to be a punching bag, even if the offender is "broken."

    His mom’s denial is heartbreaking and infuriating! If Kirk’s conception was not consensual (which is possible) then why doesn’t Debra just say that! (Rant over)

    God is a father to the fatherless, mother to the motherless. That older lady gave you a foundation. You have to be Kirk then to be Kirk now! You had to be without your dad to get to where you at now. You always had to depend on God!

    I think Kirk should open that door to both biological parents and have a REAL conversation with them. It’s not a conversation to “attack” either parent just like he said. I’m not sure how honest they will be but at least he gets to hear their side of the story. Kirk, May not feel like he’s interested but he may feel differently later and it may be too late. Either way, it’s easier said than done.

    In transparency I do empathize on how Kirk feels, however if Kirk had all of what he desired growing up, (Parents) he wouldn't be the "Kirk Franklin". His pain ushered his purpose. His pain allowed him to journal and write. His pain brought an upbringing which allowed him to learn to play instruments and sing. His pain has brought many people to Christ, and that is what living is all about. Our purpose is to win souls, not our own personal enjoyment. "Kirk is in his promised land...but cannot enjoy it because he is still holding on to Egypt. "

    • @gladyskihara4736
      @gladyskihara4736 6 месяцев назад

      Our purpose isn't ushered in through our pain. Kirk's purpose was predestined by our Holy Father. His difficult childhood definitely shaped his character and outlook on life but our purpose is ordained by God. Remember Jeremiah 29:11

    • @gladyskihara4736
      @gladyskihara4736 6 месяцев назад

      I find it very sad that you believe children growing up in a healthy and loving home as 'personal enjoyment'.
      There are plenty of Gospel artists who grew up in loving and Christian homes. Our God calls us to love and protect our children ALWAYS.
      It is one's parental duty.
      All in all, it wasn't his pain that brought people to Christ. It was God's redemption of Kirk which translated into his music that brought people to Christ.
      Let us not give pain and suffering too much credit in shaping our Christianity

      @@gladyskihara4736 Hello. I don't mind correction, I'm just trying to understand the difference in what we are saying , maybe I worded it wrong, idk, however all I'm saying is that the pain he went through had a bigger purpose.

    • @gladyskihara4736
      @gladyskihara4736 6 месяцев назад

      @@TheAnijha1 You saying his pain brought people to Christ is false. You saying his pain ushered in his purpose is false. It was God who ushered in his purpose. It was God working through Kirk Franklin that brought people to Christ. Pain had absolutely nothing to do it.
      I agree that your wording was the problem

    • @gladyskihara4736
      @gladyskihara4736 6 месяцев назад

      As I said earlier, our Christianity is what shapes our lives. Suffering and pain are constant and doesn't end but it is through our walk in Christ that we overcome it. Our pain definitely shapes our character and teaches us humility. That is the only role it plays.
      My issue with your first comment is that it seemed you exalted Kirk's painful childhood instead of his faith in God as to why he is a successful Christian artist.
      You didn't acknowledge God in shaping Kirk but claimed it was his pain that did so

    Kirk AND Shannon has to understand that THIS interview may indeed be for the benefit of not only THEM, but OTHERS!
    There are individuals watching this video on both sides of the spectrum:
    1. There are people out there, right now, who have no idea who their biological mother and/or father are!
    2. There are mothers AND fathers out there, right now, who KNOW the TRUTH and for whatever reason is keeping that truth secret, at best, or flat out continuing to LIE, at worst!
    THIS video may indeed motivate either of the aforementioned to step out on faith and either, tell the truth, or seek answers.
