  • The RIDGID 18V Brushless Track Saw is perfect for cutting down sheet goods; much easier than trying to muscle a 4'x8' sheet of 3/4" plywood through a table saw. We even used this RIDGID R48630 track saw to cut some 8/4 (2") thick Purpleheart hardwood. For $399, you get the RIDGID 18V Track Saw and two 27-1/2" tracks. #tools #ridgidtools #review

      It’s the small step down from its bigger brother Milwaukee track saw…lol! Did enjoy the reviews of them!

      I watched your video. I very much agree with you that the RIDGID is so much better than the RYOBI.

    • @riba2233
      @riba2233 9 месяцев назад

      Wrong, it is horrible for the price since you can get saws like Makita for similar money, which don't require special tracks but ride on standard ones.

      My only hope was to see the 8ah 21700 cells battery on the hard wood vs another ridgid battery

    Very good review, lots of details with this track saw. I’m in the fence whether to buy this one or Milwaukee track saw.

      If you're looking for features and top-notch performance, there's no comparison, the Milwaukee is better. If you're a RIDGID fan and budget is an issue, then buy the RIDGID. Thanks for watching.

    thanks for the news on the Milwaukee clamps working w/ridgid track. I'm not too fond of the little clamp that came with the ridgid and you need more than just the 1 clamp.

    I like everything I see so far, with the exception of the Allan key Arbor, not a big deal but it could be an alan with a 5/8.

    This appears to be a very well made saw, but I am thinking it might face fierce competition between the Milwaukee at the same price, and the Makita for a little more cash.

    Wonder if the 8ah battery would breeze through the purple heart

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  9 месяцев назад

      I don't think that would make a difference. It wasn't due to voltage drop. It was over-amping and overheated the battery, due to it having a hard time eating through the wood. Therefore, we think a better blade would make all things better.

    • @jacquesdespadas
      @jacquesdespadas 7 месяцев назад

      The tool is only going to draw so much power. The battery’s Ah rating only changes the run time.

    • @Sponchbapvanapants
      @Sponchbapvanapants 7 месяцев назад +1

      You're right about the ah rating, but the 8ah battery has 21700 cells so it should be able to pull higher continuous amps before overheating. @@jacquesdespadas

    Was the cut in the purple heart square?

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  7 месяцев назад

      It was very square; however, that wouldn't have been a fair test anyway, because the top surface had not been flattened yet. Thanks for watching.

  • @Modine.
    @Modine. 9 месяцев назад

    When would anyone need to make a -1° cut? What is that feature good for?

    • @jacquesdespadas
      @jacquesdespadas 7 месяцев назад +2

      Drywall is never flat and drywall corners are never square. It’s helpful to be able to undercut an edge, either to have less material to sand when installing a countertop, or to make two panels meet properly at a corner. The latter is probably not particularly likely to come up often in residential construction, but is common in commercial work.
