My wife and I have a 2014 Granturismo Sport, daily driven, rain, sleet, snow. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. Larini valved exhaust, 65,000 miles. Bought from Maserati with an extended warranty, haven’t used it once, do all my own maintenance. I sold my C5 vette shortly after getting it because they are equally fast and my kids can come with us. I wouldn’t be caught dead in a mustang, but to each his own. I’ve had 25 sports cars. Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar and others. I’ll always own a Granturismo and we’re watching the MC20 come down at the dealership, will also be bought with a warranty from Maserati. We’ll park them side by side. Just putting my 2 cents in as a 50 year old enthusiast.

I read a lot of these comments which influenced my decision to buy this car. If you have never had a SINGLE problem with your 20 year old cars. You won the lottery sir, that is just almost impossible. I met several other maserati owners, and not a single one is perfect like yours. Congratulations on that though if you're being serious. I am sorry you went through that and had to learn a lesson the hard way. I watched a bunch of your videos and you seem to have a strong interest in your net worth, so hard to understand why you would put 100% of your net worth in a massively depreciating asset (most cars fit this)that also can have costly repairs. The simple math can only add up to reducing your net worth each month. I own 2015 GT Sport Convertible for 3 years now which I wish I waited 2 more years to buy because I didn't appreciate how much depreciating was to come before the car got close to the bottom of the curve. Having said that, important to consider the joy factor.

@ProfessorDrives Well, the GT350 is the better car. I haven't heard anything negative about Mustang V8 reliability. Only good things to be honest. But that also could be because most people wrap their mustangs around trees 😭
Unfortunate, owned my gran turismo for almost 12 years and never had the issues that you mentioned. No longer have it due to hurricane milton, 117k miles when it was totaled, other than that it was solid. Even after the flood everything still worked.
Commiserations on selling the Maserati… they are quite rare by the way. I have only ever seen 5 and that includes mine. Sorry, but you took it to the wrong shop! Most of those things are nothing or service items. If your car was pre2011 then the ticking noise was probably variators which would be an expensive pain. Basically you need to either do work yourself or find a good specialist. Too many bad mechanics with two brain cells nowadays. Anyway have fun with the Mustang, it does look nice.
There is a reason used foreign cars are so cheap. I've owned a lot of different cars and the 2 worst were a used VW and a used Jaguar. And my used BMW trans went out w/ 60k miles. It is an expensive gamble. People on YT and FB will bash American cars and say their cheap but owned a Camaro and Mustang, and they never gave me issues. And if they did it would have been cheaper to work on.
I was seriously considering buying a Maserati GT just for the sound... appreciate the feedback of ownership, I will be looking for a different weekend toy :) For what it's worth, a year out of college I put all I had into my real world dream car- a four year old C6 Corvette w. 15k miles. The interior leaked water (floorboards would be soaked inside if it rained), the INSIDE of the windshield would ice over and need to be scrapped, the bumper had paint that had spider web cracks. I put it up for sale after 18 months and 5k miles. I'm not saying that's everyone's experience, but it was mine.
Painful but also at the end of the day $16k probably won't impact your life at all beyond the numbers u see in your bank account. Be careful on this next one though!
@@ProfessorDrives not really. If you buy all parts from Eurospares or Scuderia parts, they are affordable. You probably didn't have much desire for the Mazi to begin with. Though I do understand your perspective, I don't think you will attract more viewers with the Mustang. Oh wells.
