I'm surprised the Valkyrie's headsets weren't included as one of the quirks of the year. The car is like a helicopter in that it's so loud you need headsets to communicate in the cockpit!
Rivian showed off a functional tank turn five years ago, but decided to kill the feature as it causes too much damage to the ground. They felt it doesn't align with their message of "tread lightly" and I respect that.
That's my thoughts on it too, if you use it on a trail you will rip up the trail, and most people will just be finding a dirt lot somewhere to show off to friends, and will absolutely tear up a trailhead parking lot, park lot, etc....
I enjoy picking on Doug as much as anyone else but he is seriously still putting out consistently enjoyable content. He deserves all the success he has.
I'm sure the EX90 is great - if you live in California with an excellent public charging network and have a home you can charge at. It does get annoying when reviewers (not just Doug) forget that EVs are still fundamentally more compromised the ICE/hybrids, for anyone living in rural areas, homes with no off-street parking, or people who regularly do long journeys.
@@CB21001 If you regularly do long journeys, then EVs are still ok as long as you use fastchargers, but this is the perfect SUV for most people who have short daily commutes.
The Volkswagen ID Buzz should be under $40K, it makes no sense to have it be the 'People's Car' that not everyone can afford for the role it plays in their lives! A family bus!
It kind of was its own pitfall to try to make it a halo car for VW. Halo cars are pricey. They should've done an obscure fancy hybrid hypermiling EV like the i8 or a sporty car or something. The Buzz as halo is weird
It is my understanding that VW is currently moving the factory to Poland (AKA cheaper labor) in an effort to get the costs down. I think Matt Maran mentioned that in his weekly update a week or two ago.

The 3rd eye taillight is the "horns" of the bull, with the engine cover making the shape of a bull's head down to the three stacked plastic elements which look kinda like the nose of the bull
Classic and the original super car that still looks cool vs a garbage bin that people laugh at and will forever. Hmmmmn. CT should have gotten worse car off the year. Throttle house had the balls to do it..
17:00 - Claiming the cybertruck to be highly capable is dubious at best. It is a truck with unibody construction that gets stuck in 6 inches of snow because it weighs 7,000 lbs.

Worst car of the year is without any doubt the Tesla Cybertruck. 6 recalls (or 7?), horrible engineering, very dangerous self-driving, incredible overpromised and underdelivered features, disgusting look. And they keep breaking down (even day 1)! No wonder the price keeps dropping like a stone and the 2 million preorders just evaporated, leaving thousands unsold in parking lots. Truly the worst car of the 2000s+.
Only 2.5% of pre-orders actually went through with a purchase. Which means out of the supposed 2 million preorders, around 50,000 of those holders decided to buy the truck.

Worst car of the year is without any doubt the Tesla Cybertruck. 6 recalls (or 7?), horrible engineering, very dangerous self-driving, incredible overpromised and underdelivered features, disgusting look. And they keep breaking down (even day 1)! No wonder the price keeps dropping like a stone and the 2 million preorders just evaporated, leaving thousands unsold in parking lots. Truly the worst car of the 2000s+.
Only 2.5% of pre-orders actually went through with a purchase. Which means out of the supposed 2 million preorders, around 50,000 of those holders decided to buy the truck.

And the seats can move under heavy braking/acceleration. And the door latches can come off easily. And the wiper motor has probably an over 50% failure rate. And the rear motor fails very often. Insanely dangerous car.

What you said in defence of the Cybertruck could easily have been said about the Ford Edsel.
The Dodge drinking set reminded me of an old "Top Gear" studio presentation which involved a "shooting brake" (Aston Martin I believe) with a fully equipped bar in back; guns, booze and driving - what could possibly go wrong with that!
His take on the Cybertruck makes me doubt everything else he says.
He has no clue what most people that actually use trucks for their intended purpose want. The cyber truck is a mall crawler at best. You’re not using it on job sites or towing a fifth wheel w/ it.
