വളരെ മികച്ച രീതിയിൽ ഈ വാഹനം restore ചെയ്ത് സംരക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ജോമോന് എല്ലാവിധ ആശംസകളും💐. ഇന്ത്യൻ വാഹന ചരിത്രത്തിൽ Standard 2000 ന്റെ കാലഘട്ടം ചെറുതായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും ആ ചുരുങ്ങിയ കാലം കൊണ്ട് ഇന്ത്യൻ വാഹന ചരിത്രത്തിൽ തന്റേതായ ഒരു സ്ഥാനം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചെടുക്കാൻ ഈ വാഹനത്തിന് സാധിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഞാൻ പഴയ ചില സിനിമകളിൽ ഈ വാഹനത്തെ കണ്ട് അമ്പരന്ന് നോക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. 16:45 എനിക്കും പണ്ട് ഇതുപോലെ വർണ്യത്തിൽ ആശങ്ക തോന്നിയിരുന്നു.

After Long time with Nostalgia Episodes. I am seeing first time Standard 2000. Futuristic Look, fast track design, Power full machine 💪. I was surprised these much feature rich vehicles produced in 80’s. Hats of Standard 🤝.
I had many memories associated with Standard 2000 cars during 1990s.. One of my friends, sourced a 1986 model Blue coloured Standard 2000 from Calcutta and drove it to Kottayam and we had some laps on it. I thought it was an amazing car with all it`s specifications. Another friend’s boss in Trivandrum used to have a Standard 2000 and it used to be regularly travelling from Trivandrum to Moovattupuzha.. On one of it`s travels it accidently hit the road sign at Vaikkom junction(Pattithanam junction) and broke one of it`s indicators and had to to be shelved for a while until it was repaired. These cars have featured in many movies of that time including Manyanmar..in which Mukesh is collecting people from Ernakulam when he had to transport this car to Madras..The producer of that movie who is also from Kottayam brought a Standard 2000 and it was a regular sight in and around Ettumanoor at that time.. The song Raja Kaiyya vacha of Kamal Hassan`s 1989 Tamil movie, Apoorva Sagothargal was shot at the Standard factory in Chennai and many Standard 2000 cars are shown.. A beautiful red coloured Standard 2000 is featured as Sreevidya`s car in the 1986 movie Punnagai Mannan. Interestingly, an Indian made Standard 2000 car was imported to Perth, Western Australia in 1988 which is clocked aprx 500km only. My understanding is they attempted their luck in the Australian market but in the meantime the parent company in India got liquidated.. The car was kept for many years in Customs in Western Australia and later released to a private collector. I have seen many well maintained Rover 2000(SD1) during my time in the UK and later here in Australia as well.. Thank you for the video.
The elegant look of the standard 2000 is amazing at this time too. I think the fastback look and the length sets it's apart. I think the first Audi in India which Ravi Sastri has also have the fastback look. The interior looks elegant too.

I had many memories associated with Standard 2000 cars during 1990s.. One of my friends, sourced a 1986 model Blue coloured Standard 2000 from Calcutta and drove it to Kottayam and we had some laps on it. I thought it was an amazing car with all it`s specifications. Another friend’s boss in Trivandrum used to have a Standard 2000 and it used to be regularly travelling from Trivandrum to Moovattupuzha.. On one of it`s travels it accidently hit the road sign at Vaikkom junction(Pattithanam junction) and broke one of it`s indicators and had to to be shelved for a while until it was repaired.
These cars have featured in many movies of that time including Manyanmar..in which Mukesh is collecting people from Ernakulam when he had to transport this car to Madras..The producer of that movie who is also from Kottayam brought a Standard 2000 and it was a regular sight in and around Ettumanoor at that time.. The song Raja Kaiyya vacha of Kamal Hassan`s 1989 Tamil movie, Apoorva Sagothargal was shot at the Standard factory in Chennai and many Standard 2000 cars are shown.. A beautiful red coloured Standard 2000 is featured as Sreevidya`s car in the 1986 movie Punnagai Mannan.
Interestingly, an Indian made Standard 2000 car was imported to Perth, Western Australia in 1988 which is clocked aprx 500km only. My understanding is they attempted their luck in the Australian market but in the meantime the parent company in India got liquidated.. The car was kept for many years in Customs in Western Australia and later released to a private collector.
I have seen many well maintained Rover 2000(SD1) during my time in the UK and later here in Australia as well..

The elegant look of the standard 2000 is amazing at this time too. I think the fastback look and the length sets it's apart. I think the first Audi in India which Ravi Sastri has also have the fastback look. The interior looks elegant too.
