You gotta love any plane built with blind or "pop" rivets. Zenith could charge extra if they called them vortex generators.

I've always wanted one of these. As much as I love sleeker looking planes, I keep coming back to wanting one of these. After this video I'm struggling with some very expensive invasive thoughts... admittedly though, much less expensive than the alternatives would be! Great video! Aluminium instead of fabric is a great selling point if you don't want to pay for a hangar

Your videos are really realistic which I like. I’ve seen videos of “cost to own” and they blow it out of the water and make it seem unobtainable. You should do a video on the cheapest planes you can get.

With the low stall speed in a strong wind you could be doing speed over ground - by flying backwards.
Went and saw this plane in person about a month and a half ago! Sadly, tall people aren’t meant for the 701.
The 750 is a much nicer plane and has more room. It costs about $5K more and needs a slightly larger engine. But it’s worth the upgrade.
Plus, these planes have a folding wing option so if you already own a truck you can buy a trailer and tow it to and from the airport to save the hangar cost

Halving the takeoff and landing distance will cost the price of two or three strong ventilators at the end of the runaway.
Another great video! Question on the reserve costs: Assuming this is to replace a Rotax 912ULS @ 2000Hr TBO... not sure $6x2000hr ($12000) is going to cut it?

Maybe that's the overhaul cost. Another savings is to get your mechanical certificate at time of AW certification. Then you can do your own annuals and all maintenance. If you have a big yard with 400-500 feet unobstructed, nix the hanger fees as well.

I.P.C. Savannah builds basically an identical airplane but offers the tailwheel version 🤩
Zenith also offers a tailwheel option for the 701. Along with it not being a stolen design like the Savannah.
You mean a copy of the 701?
Some 701s have been converted to tail wheel. Those are custom modifications. Zenith doesn't offer this option for 701.
Here’s a video from Zenith talking about them updating the 701 kit. In it they say how the 701 could always be built as a taildragger. Although they admit it was an afterthought for the design. Since they are updating the kit a taildragger option will be more integrated than before.

@@CompleteWalkaround Cause of this video silly. You upload this, then a week later a slew of fresh Zenith videos from pilot yt start cropping up in my feed, with the price point being front and center. Maybe it's coincidence, but I believe you spread the signal a little bit.

@@pequod_ Ah. Gotcha. RUclips doing it's thing I guess. Zenith is doing a refresh of the 701 kit and it will include a option for tailwheel from the factory. Not released yet though
