this claim that "TN is a lot better performance than IPS" is just not true. sure, technically it has lower response times, but how much difference do you think there actually is there? 2ms? 1ms? just for reference, going from 240hz to 360hz reduces average frame times by 1.4ms, so even if the IPS panel is 1ms slower than the TN you're still gonna be 0.4ms faster on average anyway (which still shouldn't matter because below 3ms you're already talking about negligible differences to humans).
Fast IPS panels has faster rise time and total response time than the fastest TN panel. Although the fall time on TN panels are faster but I would just say Fast IPS is simply better.
an explanation most pro csgo players play with a sensitivity of 400dpi, you will notice micro stuttering and a little input lag if you play at 400dpi on a 360hz screen, the source engine is optimized for 400/800dpi, which is ideal for a smooth experience on a 360hz screen is 1600dpi and lower its sensitivity in game
although a year later I ended up getting a AW2724HF which is 360hz. I use my AW3423DW for all my AAA games but as its OLED I would rather not burn in my static UI on my rhythm games, its also 21:9 so wouldn't play anything 16:9 as it just creates black bars either side. well u need to have the 4000 series for this, also depend on which game, if u cant have over 360hz then its worthless, but if u cna then is awesome, u have games like overwatch 2 csgo or league of legends etc, which are much easier to hold high refresh rate, probably on the 5000 series u would be able to have always over 360 easily.

As a 60hz monitor user I wanna say that if you are a hard worker and just want a good monitor to buy the perfect one will be a 144hz monitor. Now for the pros that are in endgames and tournaments a good 240hz monitor with low response time will be perfect. Now for the people that want a monitor which is as top of the line as it gets a 360hz monitor is really good.
@Codelife just do a test between IPS and TN panels...... on a quality model there should be 0 difference by now in terms of response time. < that statement that tn panels are faster i think is outdated by now.
Lol ISP panels?? Bro take this video down man.. I've got both a TN and IPS Asus Rog 360hz monitor. The TN Asus one sucks so bad and the image quality is poor, compared to the IPS
You have no idea what you’re on about, first minute and I’m lost for words. TN has a better contrast ratio, and better brightness. Also TN and IPS panels are neck and neck for ms response times, with a narrow .5ms difference at next. Not to mention that IPS panels get less ghosting than TN so having a 360Hz panel is going to give you the best response no matter what. Of you notice anything minor, you can always lower the cap for your monitor until you upgrade your system to better utilise 360Hz. Also, all these top players are full of excuses and reasons as to why something isn’t good, I’ve been around computers and with IPS recently doing what TN couldn’t do without suffering to things like inverse ghosting, it’s only a matter of time before we lose TN forever just like we’re about ti with VA panels. All in all, just stop trying to think you’re some know it all, for the love of god.
@@tibodoz5108 I have an IPS monitor rated at 280Hz with minimal ghosting, good response times and a decent screen size at 27 inch. Depending on what you're looking for, TN can be good but you'll pay a premium for it, IPS can have the same performance for a better price if you do your research. They are near on neck and neck at the moment but the development for IPS is going to keep getting better and TN and VA panels will be lost in the dust given a few more years.

He is not too poor but you are too ignorant my guy. This video was posted almost 3 years ago, where OLED technology was NOWHERE NEAR what we have today so it makes totally sense. The 4080 and 7800x3d were not even out yet and saying that buying better specs gets you more fps does not surpirse anybody. He talked about how most 360hz panels are ips and it was true at the time of recording so instead of being ignorant and flexing your setup stop for a second and think. Another think is that you play very little demanding games, old hardware can get 500fps on siege and ths video is about fortnite, even saying that bugha with a 3090 could not get stable 360 fps so you neither which makes me wonder whether you have actually watched the video or only came to flex your mediocre setup and new monitor. The price argument is also valid as high refresh rate monitors, especially oleds too, are quite expensive right now and 95% of even hardcore gamers are not willing to spend as much on a monitor. You got a nice deal cool but dropping close to $1k on a monitor is a no for most normal people. i have a monitor with the same panel as you and it is great but I can not imagine writing such an arrogant, ignorant and selfish comment like yours. If you have a 360hz monitor, don’t sell it. Just set the refresh rate to something lower in the monitor settings, so you’re at least future-proofed for when you get hardware strong enough for 360hz.
helps but the main problem would be that 360hz monitors aren't advanced enough to provide the same quality as 240hz even at a locked 360fps
Good tip for new gamers but...
I feel like a person shouldn't own a 360hz monitor without knowing this lul
@@lyubomir1202 sometimes mom and pop get you a monitor for christmas not knowing exactly what it is.
@@CR0WYT that's true
Oh and one more thing on intel I-12900k with RTX 3080 or + reaching 360/350 fps is easy. Oh and don't forget next season or chapter we are going on the Unreal Engine 5. Which is way better optimized then UE4
Today a decent custom loop 12900/3090 machine costs $7-8K all in. To limit that to 240/TN you might as well pick a pc out of the trash.
I feel that the comments are giving better information what the video is saying
"you will have a bad experience if your fps doesn't meet or exceed your refresh rate". I have not found this to be true in the slightest. 240hz on Counter-Strike 1.6 (capped at 100 fps) is WAY better than 144hz option. Try it if you don't believe me.
this claim that "TN is a lot better performance than IPS" is just not true.
sure, technically it has lower response times, but how much difference do you think there actually is there? 2ms? 1ms?
just for reference, going from 240hz to 360hz reduces average frame times by 1.4ms, so even if the IPS panel is 1ms slower than the TN you're still gonna be 0.4ms faster on average anyway (which still shouldn't matter because below 3ms you're already talking about negligible differences to humans).
Fast IPS panels has faster rise time and total response time than the fastest TN panel. Although the fall time on TN panels are faster but I would just say Fast IPS is simply better.
@@3jesus3christ3 im not claiming it's not better, i'm claiming it's not "a lot" better.
3ms is not a lot.
The real reason is that is that they are still using them in competition. They dont want to get used to things they cant use all the time.
Thanks for the update
an explanation most pro csgo players play with a sensitivity of 400dpi, you will notice micro stuttering and a little input lag if you play at 400dpi on a 360hz screen, the source engine is optimized for 400/800dpi, which is ideal for a smooth experience on a 360hz screen is 1600dpi and lower its sensitivity in game
You mean mouse latency? And here I am using 3000+dpi on a 120hz display.
although a year later I ended up getting a AW2724HF which is 360hz. Cost me 255, 270 on sale and used my dell rewards to cut off £15, I literally will use it for RUclips, 16:9 gaming and rhythm games. I use my AW3423DW for all my AAA games but as its OLED I would rather not burn in my static UI on my rhythm games, its also 21:9 so wouldn't play anything 16:9 as it just creates black bars either side. Would have loved to have got myself the 500hz or 540hz monitors but I am not paying that much for a TN panel ever.
Man says ISP panels and I instantly stopped trusting anything he had to say
Can you play 240 on a 360hz monitor?
Even fps not reach 360 hz its still smoother than any of 240 hz monitor - have 2740 benq and Asus pg259q !
They could've changed to 240hz in their 360hz monitor in refresh rate settings lol
panel technology isn't the same, image quality etc
Bro I paid 700 for my Alienware 360hz and now that shit is 550 it’s not that much and I wouldn’t complain
The new oled 360hz and 480hz have almost 0 response time. It’s .003 ms. So I’m sure it’s gonna be a game

Man you convinced me to go with the legendary benQ xl2546k :-)
Just turn on gsync even with it on the input lag is much lower than 240hz naturally due to the higher refresh rate.
well u need to have the 4000 series for this, also depend on which game, if u cant have over 360hz then its worthless, but if u cna then is awesome, u have games like overwatch 2 csgo or league of legends etc, which are much easier to hold high refresh rate, probably on the 5000 series u would be able to have always over 360 easily.
what monitor does bugha use right now?

ive never heard anyone complain about ips panels instead of tn although it does make sense since the lower response time

bruh there is so much misinformation in this video!
IPS does just as good to TN in terms of performance up around 165hz, the technology for IPS for 240hz and upwards simply doesn’t exist as of yet!!
pros also don’t have to worry about performance since they have amazing computers!

What about if I get like 180fps and I have a 360hz monitor ?

@@sentrix3066 not latency wise
All in all, just stop trying to think you’re some know it all, for the love of god.
which panel would u recommend between tn and ips for competitive fortnite and which has worse ghosting

Yes, but worse than the TUF gaming 280 hertzs TN, I have Acer nitro XV252QF 390 hertzs and feels a bit laggy compared to the TUF, I would recommend IPS over TN only if you multitask aside from gaming, for gaming TN is still superior performance wise.
they need to try the 390hz aopen monitors
THIS ^^^ all of the other 360hz ips panels (like Alienware or ACER are trash and have horrible ghosting
I have Acer nitro XV252QF 390 hertzs and is literally worse than my TUF gaming 280 hertzs for playing games, it feels slightly laggier when snapping on to targets, I'm using only for editing and web browsing since it has better colour accuracy and smoothness to it, I'm thinking on changing it, but I will say this, it feels incredibly smooth for an IPS, it's only marginally inferior to good TN panels, I'm amazed how similar they play performance wise, the gap between monitor types is very close, I don't think many will tell the difference, both are good choices depending on what you are looking for.
Haha is this a trolling video?

Well money does not buy intelligence or maners after all I guess.
