beautiful sound of a beautiful machine I personally am a driver of the t-55 tank and I think that this is a great machine. I wish that every man would lead this beast
How do you properly start it? I’ve heard that cold starts can damage the motor and there’s only one video I know of on how to start one but they use the air bottle to start it which I’ve heard is for either emergencies or cold starts
I had as soldier served in the NVA to a T55 Tank. I was load gunner, later a targetgunner in the 12 Tank Kompanie in learning-battle-group, Tank No. 259 in Halle. In the last half servedyear I was Tankcommander in the 11 Tank Kompanie. The T55 is a great Tank, but a hard machine. In the Winter no heating stove, in the Summer no air conditioner. In Januar a icehole with - 10 grad minus inside and in August with shooting 55 Grad plus. The load gunner had a hard job with the Grenade weight with 48Kg and loading in Standard time 7seconds. In the weekend was training for Gunloading. The drivers had in Winter freeze the hands and feet. But I see today, is was a good time for young mans for understandig what is a good living and what is a soldiers living. Today I think all young mans must served in a russion Tank in a German Army, but not in the homosexual and transgender-army of BRD. If you were a tank soldier, you come home as a sensible guy. You are happy to have dinner with mom from the porcelain plate, you will not paint house walls or pull metal parts through your nose or snout, you will be a good man. Thanks T55.... 😉🌻🌾🌻🍻🇩🇪
Drived such Tank when i was 19-20, still there are great feelings, there were not only simple T-55 tank, there were such modifications T-55 AM modified for Afghanistan war 1979-1989.

That's what I love about older vehicles and machines. You don't need coding, electronic, and really complex computer skills and reading gadgets, all you need is a good wrench and ratchet set and some mechanics knowledge and this beauty's gonna keep running for a long time.
As a former tank commander I know this very Well. A bit slow, but still ok👌👍😀 Our tank was M type, it means a modified verson with computer controlled systems and a laser rangefinder.
Even in modern conflict, this thing is still a VERY useful tool to have on your side. Give it a little modernisation (CMS, Thermal sight for gunner/commander, some cameras for the driver), and it is very useful on the battlefield as an infantry fire support platform. The fact that it is basically indestructible mechanically and extremely easy to operate is just a big plus. Yes, it's not very useful against modern MBTs, but it can one tap pretty much everything else out there (even the best IFVs, APCs, etc)
I agree. I wish the Video did not have music. If you try to watch a Russian made video of tanks, planes they all have dramatic music that mess up the sound of the vehicle.
I could do another edit of it but there is silence at 31 seconds because it goes to my drone footage. I hope to be with it again soon and do more videos. Thanks for the feedback.
Crazy to think this machine was designed in 1949 and is still in use today. Happy 70th, T54/55 line!
Avery Payne I believe we found a 1945 stamp on the haul of this one.
Amed Tajan Panzerfabrik has two of them, one is painted very nice and restored... this is the car and house crusher.
First t-54 was designed in 1947 i guess, But I can be wrong

It's the main battle tank in my country. I really surprised in how well preserved they are. Check the T55 from the Peruvian armed forces.

Well, the T-55AM could fight against modern MBTs, but it would be still a bit hard.
I kept the music to a minimum till there was no more evil breathing.
still too much, i wanted to hear the tank not music
It was "music" ? I though it was an algorytmic suite made by a computer.
