You may find the British archeology program 'Time Team' interesting. Most of the digs are in Britain, but there was a spitfire excavation in Wierre Effroy, an excavation of a Vampyr dugout bunker in Belgium, and a rebuild of a huge WW1 flamethrower.

Have you read up on the Private Tandy /Lance Corporal Hitler incident during WW1? Apparently a photograph appeared in London newspapers of Private Tandy carrying a wounded soldier at Ypres in 1914 was later portrayed on canvas in a painting by the Italian artist Fortunino Mantania glorifying the allied war effort. As the story goes, when British Prime Minister Chamberlin travelled to Germany in 1938 to engage Hitler in a last ditched effort to avoid another war in Europe, he was taken by the fürher to his new country retreat in Bavaria. There, Hitler showed Chamberlin his copy of the Mantania painting, commenting, "That's the man who nearly shot me."

The nazis tried the radio trick in Norway too, but people listened to London instead and they banned privately owned radios altogether..

British AAA caused 70% of the damage in London during the Blitz. The government just wanted to be seen to be doing something in response to the Luftwaffe. Author Simon Webb comprehensively covers the subject.

Does Cunk On Britain Inform, Educate or Entertain?
    Yes!
The mud wrestling idea isn't as bad as it sounds. Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Rollerball Rocco, Mick McManus, Steven Regal ... The English have produced the best wrestlers in Europe by some margin.
Your face when she mentioned Brexit, that was cool!
Her talking about Greg Wallace making people eat porridge from Lidl, there is a very funny "it tastes as good but it costs less" stand up routine by Mickey Flanagan about the same show.
Here in Ireland, people felt a certain way about Winton Churchill and his erotic speeches and we didn't know Hitler might not be cool, so we couldn't really pick a side in war 2. Even in 2024, it's easy enough to meet English folks who think all of Ireland is part of the UK, uses British money and were very disloyal siding with the EU instead of the UK during Brexit negotiations.

Fun fact. If you burn oyster shells they turn into quicklime. A powdery form of lime that if it comes into contact with your eyes, will permanently blind you. Are you familiar with the Sharpe TV series (with Sean Bean) and series of books set during the Peninsular campaign of the Napoleonic wars? Sharpe uses burned oyster shells/quicklime to blind French soldiers attacking a fort he's trying to defend.

Buffalo was a game played by the legion in pubs an bars, they would have their hands tied behind there backs ,and would charge at each other and but heads, the legion had to ban this game,as a lot of legion soldiers were getting seriously hurt or killed.
Cuckoo was played by two legion soldiers, they both had revolvers, they both hid in a dark room,an they could only fire one shot when the other shouted cuckoo,an they took turns doing this, the legion had to ban this game also,I'm shocked and amazed that they didn't ban it straight away, both games that is.

You know, you have to be a bit crazy to be a legionnaire, it's often guys who fail at it to start a new life from scratch because they've had a serious past, so it doesn't surprise me. The more we talk about it, the more I want to make a dedicated video haha

Frenchie, I think you have cracked the code you beautiful mad genius. Your break down about WW1 is clearly the blueprint for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kevin Feige is obviously obsessed with the Great War. That means that Marvel phase 6 will be based on the battles (many, many) of the Isonzo. So everyone look forward to a painful endless slog until phase 7.
Hitler, Trump, and Boris Johnson..all funny looking politicians with bad hair. Where is the French representative for this club? Oh... of course...Marine Le Pen. Pardonnez mon erreur.
I must disagree...Franz Ferdinand is a great name for a race horse. After all any racehorse is just one broken leg from getting an Archduke special. Sad but true 😉.
