Speaking as a complete newbie to the series, it's more addicting through the challenges of mastering my preferred weapons as well as having to learn and memorize the tells of every monster I swear, these games may as well be a college course all it's own

Also the Valstrax DB and its set, which are ridiculously easy to get, have more than enough slots for handicraft (+1), minds eye, and razor sharp with a good talisman. With some evade window for good measure. And I still do more damage properly exploiting elemental weaknesses on other monsters with different sets. Affinity shouldn’t matter too much as long as you’re aiming for the head (Daora’s soul exists). After cutting the tail of course. Edit: I forgot to mention I also fit dragon +5 on it

I've just picked up the swaxe in Rise and I love it. All the style points of the greatsword with the fluidity of the longsword and the survival instincts of a spider invading my house. My favorite thing to do is build up meter (thanks for the instant-fill silkbind, Capcom!), Zero Sum, Soaring Wyvern Blade, and then immediately Zero Sum again.

I was afraid to watch the insect glaive portion of the vid when I read this comment, but then I realized that Trib was only calling out those IG mains who exclusively use helicopter mode. Which I wholeheartedly agree with as an IG main. If you wanna do that in your own missions, go for it. Doing it online is pretty troll though. Ground IG combos are just so much stronger than aerial, with higher motion values and less end lag on most attacks. If you're staying in the air, you're relying on your teamates to do the heavy lifting for the mission lol.
@@zaknafein254 aerial insect glaive is still a way, for each string in air damage increases until the 3 times allowed but then one can use diving wyvern wich will take the multiplier thus increasing it's damage.

Dual blades main here. This weapon is exactly as unga bunga as Trib makes them out to be. That's why I picked them up when I got into the series. Now I play other weapons alongside the dual bungas, but they're still my best weapon. I just do not die when I use them.
As a monster hunter vet, has logged in at least 2k hours in each game since 2 and over 6k hours and world and over 200 in rise already I find this incredibly funny especially the weapon descriptions because it’s like 90% true
As one of the 10 something Lance mains out there. I am deeply offended :'< Lance hits different compared to other melee weapons. People usually evade and dodge attacks waiting for opportunities but Lance goes head-on towards attacks and MAKES opportunities. I can't deny that it IS a vanilla weapon, but once you get into a rhythm of relentlessly piercing(poking) a monster for minutes straight with little downtime... It feels brutally amazing.
There's something pure about a "plain" weapon. You focus less on yourself and more on the different bosses. Learning them, dancing with them. I think it's the same reason I gravitated to Black Mage in FF14. Your own simplicity and limitations make you appreciate the bosses and their variety.
Its only plain if the only thing you do is upwards poke, the second you start using leaping thrust and insta block counter (aka lance bitch slap) it gets flashier and more fun
I'm an Insect Glaive main, and I freaking DANCE in the air, so I'm a combo of both categories cause screw it, it's monster hunter and it's fun to feel like a gyrocopter every once in a while, and also I love using the tri-color combos OHHHH THEY ARE SATISFYING
As someone who enjoys using lance, I can't say I disagree. Gunlance is a direct upgrade as far as damage and "coolness" factor, but there's something about lance.... Being able to just straight up ignore the monsters strongest attacks as a part of your normal moveset allows you to be an unstoppable force. A proper lance build does everything a longsword can and you wont piss off your teammates for tripping them every 2 sec. Plus with the new shield silkbind you can potentially stun the monster for free damage

You seem to have missed out on the doomcannon on hbg. Funfact: you can trigger it as a wakeup hit with a regular barrelbomb. The dramatic pause before the doomshot really made it my favourite weapon in rise. Can't wait to use it on pc soon

in the new monster hunter stories 2, plesioth gets a special attack called the hyperspace tackle that consists of him doing the smallest shoulder check animation and hitting the entire party for massive damage

As a GL main I want more power to my gun! Why does endgame have slaplance better than gun? Hell, why does my paralysis set do comparable damage to normal? WHY NERF LONG SHELLS SO HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????? OTOH Recovering sharpness while guarding spoiled me too much.
The sheer mass of editing that goes into your w2 view easily justifies the wait times. This vid might also include such editing but I am but a humble pc player avoiding spoilers for when it comes.

A little tip about CB guard points: you don't need to memorize them since the first frames of switching form to axe mode is an almost instant guard point. Do what the unga bunga CB mains do and just use that and be pleasantly surprised whenever anything else happens to protect you.

I would like to share a video idea based on the thought of a new mode in warframe, a train heist mode, one that makes k-drives and archwings more viable in regular missions, most likely on fortuna, it would have a squad use either a k-drive or an archwing to catch up to a corpus or grineer hover train, and liberate prisoners or cargo. You can add what you want, but I would love it if you made a video on this idea

A little tip about CB guard points: you don't need to memorize them since the first frames of switching form to axe mode is an almost instant guard point. Do what the unga bunga CB mains do and just use that and be pleasantly surprised whenever anything else happens to protect you.

Minor correction, 'jet plane' does not in fact have any relation to wirebugs, you can use it as much as you want with no cooldowns, though only 3 times in a row before you have to be a sad boy and touch the ground again.

5:40 Lance main here. I wanna take the best that the monster can dish out, look it in the eyes, and say; "More!". And since Diversion is a thing now, I can pull aggro for the others to do their DPS.
I would like to share a video idea based on the thought of a new mode in warframe, a train heist mode, one that makes k-drives and archwings more viable in regular missions, most likely on fortuna, it would have a squad use either a k-drive or an archwing to catch up to a corpus or grineer hover train, and liberate prisoners or cargo. You can add what you want, but I would love it if you made a video on this idea
