Purchased my 07 4runner 2 weeks ago, 1 owner, clean car fax, 116k miles, limited edition, all the bells and whistles, paid 14,550$ looks brand new inside! Love it so far. Washington state!
@@BigFastJake That they do! I paid 18k for an 07 SR5 V8 with 45k miles 3 years ago and have been in love ever since. Unstoppable performance, can't go wrong.

100k miles, the engines in this vehicles is just starting to warm up.. they can last a million miles specially in this V8, just make sure to do the usual changing of oil and do whatever the maintenance is 👍🏼
I got a really good deal from my grandmother after my grandfather passed back in 2018. Bought a 2007 4Runner sport 4wd v8. Got it for $8000 and it had 110k miles at the time. Nothing wrong with it, she was going to sell it to another random guy for $16000 but I swooped in and bought it to keep it in the family. It now has 170k miles and hasn’t had a single problem since other than having to replace the battery.
I found mine a week ago. 04 V8 4x4 limited 146k miles for $9,800 OTD. Only for sale less than one day. People were walking in and calling while I was closing the deal. Love it!
I just got mine 3 weeks ago... I call it a beast runner! love it...V8 4WD limited...I am with you... 500 k miles .. keeping it until it hits the junkyard.... frame will be rust bulleted as soon as it warms up!!!!
I bought a 2004 SR5 4x4 in 2007 with 50,000 miles on it. It's now 16 years old and only has 110,000 miles on it. I've only had to do basic maintenance, and the catalytic converters. My 4runner was assembled in Japan where quality is a bit higher than Toyota's assembled in the states. 4x4 is great and I've never gotten stuck on the Galveston beaches. I got hit by a red light runner and got a new hood, fender, radiator and bumper, so what rock chips were on the hood are gone and looks brand new. I have the 4.0 V6 and it has plenty of power. I have read many times that the difference between the V6 and V8 is very minuscule. My 16 year old truck still looks and feels brand new. I absolutely love my 4runner, and will drive it till the wheels fall off.
I just bought a 2004 SR5 4Runner with 253,700 miles on it. It has minimal rust on the frame, coming from AZ, and I absolutely love it. A few fix-ups, repainting the hood. and bufifng the sun faded whit paint else where and it will look like new. I love how it drives.
04' 4Runner, bought it at 176k miles for 7,000 out the door, one owner with clean report and all services at Toyota dealership, it's served my for a year now, I'm 8k miles away from 200k miles, I love my truck, it had some issues and I had to change tires, but it got me through north blizzards this winter. I really want a modded one that's an 08' or a 2014 lightly used, but so expensive damn!
Mine has 264k miles on it and still runs and looks great. With minimal maintenance, (oil changes, wheels, and brakes), I bought it new in 2007 and it has never let me down.
Maybe you've figured this out already...but you can use the key to open AND close the rear window. Put the key in the key hole on the rear door and I think if you turn left it will go down and turn right it will go up. or visa versa.
Hey about that 100,000 mile odometer reading on a 4 Runner. We owned a 2nd Gen 1992 SR5 4Runner and we honestly feel like the breaking in period for that 4Runner was when we cracked 200k. The engine got quieter and mpg went up by 1 mile per gallon. You can get the same effect by trying to drive over 200 miles in a day. Stop and listen to the idle after a long trip it sounds like its thanking you for "taking it out for a walk". It's not even hot for goodness sakes. Hey Big Jake about the lighting on your camera if you ideally position your lighting to be behind the camera you'll get great pictures. So yeah photographers & videographers rearrange their subjects so that the light is behind the camera. And dude the rear window? "fist bump" I hear you. There isn't another vehicle out there with a rear window that goes down. Well unless its a Tundra.
I just picked up the 2006 limited NADA was 14,000 got mine at a dealership out the door for 9,000. Under writers were wondering why she sold it so cheap haha. Runs, drives, and looks awesome!
Bro same, I've had my for a few weeks now it's a 2006 4.0 v6 sport edition, 4x4 with locking diff, leather heated power everything I picked it up for 6k they were asking about 11k only thing I wish I would have looked into more was the x-rays suspension been told it's kinda a difficult option to have if you want to install aftermarket suspension.
Just sealed the deal on a 1 owner 08 grey Limited V-6 4X4 with only 72K mi. Clean and good records. I pick it up in 2 days and cant wait. Dealer wanted 18.5K and I talked them down to 16K. Not crazy about leather interior either but the truck has the lowest miles of any 4Runner I've seen. I had the same experience of not moving quick enough on the sale as these trucks typically get sold in 24hours of being listed. Most of these 4Runners here in Colorado have an average of 130k-150K mi on them at this point. Wish it was a V-8 but the V-6 seems to have plenty of get up.
Love the video Bigjake👍👍👍 i own an 03 v8 and have 245k mls and she purrs like a kitten. Drives very smooth on the highway too. 4wd works flawlessly off road. I live in Jacksonville, florida and i take it to the beach a lot to surf fish...🙌🙌🙌
I purchased one of those lower priced V8 4runners with close to 200k and the truck runs beautifully. LOL! Not the most cosmetically appealing but it's a trade off since I also have a newer Subaru to drive as well. But yes, they're great running vehicles. I'm well over 210k now and it still runs great! Not to mention I think I found a gem with it being only 2 owners, who are brothers, and have every single service record from one Toyota dealership that matched the Carfax I pulled on it.
lol , the window is the best quirk on the 4runner , not just that you can remotly roll it down but the fact that you can roll it down at all ! for loading stuff or to check on your cargo before you open the hatch to avoid all your stuff to falling to the ground , and also there is no need for the remote to be able to roll up the window , just use the dash control when you are inside the truck , actually more convinant that way , no need to wait just climb inside and do it when you are already rolling ! 👍🏼
The V8 tends to be cheaper then the 6 where I am. I got my 08 v6 white, urban runner package for a decent price. And I picked it a few days after it was posted. Has some small cosmetic issues but nothing mechanical other then a sticking front caliper that was easily replaced. The V8 is a bullet proof engine as long as you do change the timing belts. Reason I went v6 was that it had a chain and the v6 had the selectable 4x4 or 2x4, and I would see a mpg gain for how often I'm in traffic. But 4runners while always be a solid choice.
+EcBuddy123 100%. I actually thought this was the V6 when I went to test drive it. The owner literally forgot to mention it was the 4.7. Im just happy I found a clean 4th gen!
Nice review. I have a 1 owner 2005 sr5 v6 had it for almost 11 years now with 188 k miles. i just love these 4th gens. so much so that im looking for a 07-09 v8.
I watched this video again. My 2006 V-8 gets 19.5 mpg in the city and as much as 28.0!!!!! mpg on the highway if I keep the speed to about 60. The owners manual calls for premium fuel, but I can use regular unleaded with absolutely no pinging I have owned dozens of cars, both personal and fleet, and this is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. I will never get rid of this thing, so don't ask 😎. Only 122K on this beauty, which is Navy Blue and the paint job looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. All the mechanics at the shop just drool over this thing, as they do not make the V-8 anymore. New cars are just junk.
You got a steal on your 4runner! I've got a 03 SR5 4runner V8 with 75,000 on it. I bought it from my dad and he barely drove it. I love the car/truck/mountain goat. Zero problems since new.
I was able to snag a 2006 Toyota Forerunner with only 80 k. I walked onto used car lot where they had just received the car and it was not even in database. I took it for a spin and bought it immediatly for 9k. Paid 9k. Gawd I am happy.
I don't know enough about that Highlander to say.. Either way you're probably going to be pretty safe regarding maintenence costs. MPG definitely isn't a strong suit for the 4Runner though.
Bought mine new 2006 V8 4.7L 4x4 Sport. 13yrs old and drives like new. 203000 mi. Bought the V8 because it rides smoother than the V6, more torque, about the same mpg.
I had an 05 Sport V6 for 10 years from 2007 to 2017 and it was a SOLID truck with my only gripe being the transfer case going bad on the part time 4WD system. Reading through the 4Runner forums it was a known issue on the 4th gen and fairly costly to service at the dealership running upwards of $4500 (dealership estimate high end) and the truck being in the shop for about a week. Every fall for 6 of those 10 years I would procrastinate by hoping and praying it wouldn’t be a bad winter but it mostly was, lol. Luckily I learned how to drive in the snow in a rwd car when I was younger, but I had that truck for the longest time out of all the cars I’ve owned and sometimes regret trading it in for a 2014 Acura MDX.
Good question. If it's super clean with no rust and a clean history, $7-8 is reasonable, maybe on the high end. If it has any issues or accidents, that's a little steep.
Nikola Tesla Thanks! These look so good in silver too. I havent messed with the lighting too much yet, except for swapping the daytime running lights over to a white "off road" led. It looks 10x better in my opinion and took 3 minutes to do
The only thing about the V-8 is that if the starter goes out (very rare) it is a big expense to replace. The manifold has to be removed, so there is a lot of labor involved.
Ruthless Goat It’s really not a big job if you are handy. But if not, yeah the shop labor will be a bit expensive. As you mentioned, not a common problem with these. The timing belt, water pump and pulleys are what one should concentrate on every 90k. Alternators also seem to fail but I believe that has more to do with battery quality and neglect. These trucks are solid
@@nordicpride9708 Well, I used to be handy, but now am so crippled that working on an auto is out of the question. Anyway, this vehicle will outlive me as it only has 122K and has been meticulously maintained. It is better than brand new.
Nice truck! And yes that roll down of the back window got me too. I got an after market alarm installed and now I’m able to roll it down and back up with the key fob. I did loose the “beep” to a “chirp” now. I miss the beep, I felt like it was a classy touch/sound over all(call me weird lol) I have a 06’ T4R Sport Edition V8 4x4, exterior Shadow Mica. Interior black cloth. I got mine from CarMax bought in 2016, so with that said I did overpay, but with 96k, one owner, clean car fax history, interior and exterior condition in immaculate condition, and no modifications.
I’m 15 and got a 2008 limited v8 as my first car in mint condition, and I love it! If it tells you anything, my dad’s a car guy and we have a Tesla performance model 3 and a 75d model x, and my dad’s favorite car (besides his supras) was his 2008 4runner.
I’m car shopping and I’m looking at a ton of different options too, 2500HD duramax, 1st gen tundra, Tacoma, forerunner, silverado 1500, ram 1500, etc I just paid off my 2005 silverado 1500 and I’m looking for something to off road in and be dependable, I’m really looking at one with the 4.7 but I’m really on the fence about the AWD system, I had it on my grand Cherokee overland and I didn’t like it
AWD systems are different depending the car maker . Best AWD is Subaru. 4wd is not the same as AWD . But buy a Toyota , Tacoma's are awesome Land cruisers are awesome, RAV4 is a damn good vehicle, camery is great
Mark Limjoco nice! Turns out the one I was looking at had HUGE rust rot on the back above the window, so I’m now looking at an 04 v6 sr5 with only 64,000 miles for only 10k.. reason being it’s so low on price is the 4lo doesn’t engage it seized up from lack of use so I have a feeling I might be able to wiggle it unstuck eventually otherwise I’d never use 4lo anyways haha
Nice man. Still have a '99 3rd gen. Looking at a similar runner to yours with V8 as I'd like to tow a smaller enclosed trailer. Considering an F150 but so hard to beat that Toyota reliability and I really like the 4runner platform. Enjoy many miles and yrs if you choose... they just keep on rollin'.
Great first review man! I love your 4Runner! I actually just bought a 2007 SR5 4X4 natural white 115,000 miles. Thing is literally brand new in terms of interior and drive quality. I have driven newer cars that do not compare. I am always happy to get back in my rig. I came from a 96 Tacoma with the crappy "backseat". so stoked with all the interior room!!
You're Welcome! I always go back and forth between a 2010-2013 5th Gen or 2005-2009 4th Gen with V8. Price wise, the 4th gen are always cheaper unless its a super clean low mile which I dont really need it to be under 100k anyway. Ill probably go with the 4th Gen 100k+ and get a nice discount. They look so aggressive and I love that back window!!!!!!
i have the same exact make model and edition as well as seats. Its an ammasing vehicle while very high dependability. sadly i wasnt as lucky with the price i bought the vehicle for
you killed me when you said it was 3 row seating .. but thats you would never have kids thats was just heartbreaking.. but anyways nice review.. i am definitely geting this truck
You don't have kids, I will never have kids. That's really a terrible thing to say about yourself. As for your SUV, Its really cool. I hope to own a 2008 4Runner someday.
I used to think it was a terrible thing to say but I have come around to respect people who know themselves well enough to make that decision. It would be horrible if he were to bring children into this world who he might not do a good job at raising.

Man if you got a first gen tundra youll fall in love plus there so reliable
Nice truck! And yes that roll down of the back window got me too. I got an after market alarm installed and now I’m able to roll it down and back up with the key fob. I did loose the “beep” to a “chirp” now. I miss the beep, I felt like it was a classy touch/sound over all(call me weird lol)
I have a 06’ T4R Sport Edition V8 4x4, exterior Shadow Mica. Interior black cloth.
I got mine from CarMax bought in 2016, so with that said I did overpay, but with 96k, one owner, clean car fax history, interior and exterior condition in immaculate condition, and no modifications.
96K?? That's awesome! I was super happy to land one with 104K
Big Jake same here I was surprised when I saw 96k miles!
Now 3 years later now I’m at 151k lol
How much you have on yours now?
@@kevchandrika Sitting at 133,000 and purring like a kitten! 🐈
Nice! What is the gas tank capacity (size) for this V8 4Runner?
Msafiri Mhehe 18 gallons
The tray in the center console is for fast food drink trays!
I’m 15 and got a 2008 limited v8 as my first car in mint condition, and I love it! If it tells you anything, my dad’s a car guy and we have a Tesla performance model 3 and a 75d model x, and my dad’s favorite car (besides his supras) was his 2008 4runner.
You lose about 1 mpg to have full time 4wd and more usable torque with a proven million miles motor...
Always go with the V8
Both the V6 & V8 engines are both awesome 👍💯💪
I’m car shopping and I’m looking at a ton of different options too, 2500HD duramax, 1st gen tundra, Tacoma, forerunner, silverado 1500, ram 1500, etc I just paid off my 2005 silverado 1500 and I’m looking for something to off road in and be dependable, I’m really looking at one with the 4.7 but I’m really on the fence about the AWD system, I had it on my grand Cherokee overland and I didn’t like it
I can't speak for all of them, but I never had any issues with my four-wheel drive system. But yeah, the 4.7 V8 is definitely my preferred fourth gen!
AWD systems are different depending the car maker . Best AWD is Subaru. 4wd is not the same as AWD . But buy a Toyota , Tacoma's are awesome Land cruisers are awesome, RAV4 is a damn good vehicle, camery is great
Just got a 2003 v6 limites with 233k for $1500, had to replace the abs motor but that’s was it runs great
That's a steal! Well done
The 4.7 seems to get the same mileage as my dads 04 Tacoma and I love mine I have the same model but also an 04
Hey i need one with 3rd row seats, wouod you be willing to sell it?
My daughter's was $3000. 2006 perfect except for a couple dents. Awesome vehicle. She's had it a couple years.
Have had my 07 4runner for 3 years now. Sr5, bought with 113k for 14,500 lol I’m the second owner and I now have 205k, fox lift.
Love stories like that. Can't wait do add some more lift and 33's to mine!
How did your gas mileage change after the lift and tires?
@5:55. That's your burger tray. Seriously, that's what it's called.
Super informative! Great video man you know what you're talking about 👌
I bought mine with the v8 2wd (im in Texas) i dont need 4wd just good tires. Clean carfax dealer maintained. 162k paid 10k. No regrets.
That’s an awesome deal!! I’m looking at an 05 v6 sr5 running at $8900 and I thought that was a little low for price haha nice runner!
Rick Harrison that's exactly what I have but the v8
God damn, that's a mint 4runner
Here in Houston, one exactly like yours minus the leather is listed for $15,999. Seems high for a 2007 model with 99k miles
But how does it drive?
Like a Cadillac!
Bro u made the rite choice.with toyota u cnt go wrong.best brand ever
Can we get an update please.
17.5 mpg overall is great
Anything wrong with 2wd v8 4runner
Nope! I’d buy almost any V8 T4R
@@BigFastJake thanks man
@@sschevmale24 You got it
Great first review man!
Thanks! And congratulations! You'll love it. Hands down the best vehicle I've ever owned.
I like that ,,I do have a same truck my is 2003 v8 limite and I love it
Antonio Ponevilai 4Runner fam! These rigs are so good. I want 5 more.
I never have any problem at alll
Hey Bigdog, I like the video and the way you presented it too,
Good job, let's check out ur other stuff Big Jake 😏
Great review man. I want to get a black v8 some day!
+Dustin Gray Thanks man! You should I love my T4R!
They look so aggressive and I love that back window!!!!!!
we got giraffes making utube vids of cars now??
i have the same exact make model and edition as well as seats. Its an ammasing vehicle while very high dependability. sadly i wasnt as lucky with the price i bought the vehicle for
They're difficult to find for a good price, at least where I am. I was lucky!
you killed me when you said it was 3 row seating .. but thats you would never have kids thats was just heartbreaking.. but anyways nice review.. i am definitely geting this truck
Kids aren't for everyone, but you'll definitely love it man. Thanks!
Lmao umm thats exactly what i told my niece's car dealer friend today lol when he offered me this vehicle ... I cant believe inturned it down 😂😂😂
Only downside to the v8 other than mpg is that the v8 has a timing belt. Timing belt or timing chain...chain all day.
Truck looks good that's my next purchase
Nice video! Also, mount that front plate when you can. I’ve seen that become a decapitation danger in bad enough accidents
Thank you! And sound advice. I actually sold her a while back (tear) but probably wouldn't have a front plate sitting there loose again!
2003 is probably going to be 7000
Had an 04 Sport with the V8, was at 418k miles when I got rid of it and still ran like new. Been looking for another one since
I drive a right hand drive 2005 Toyota Hilux Surf 2.7Lhere in Canada, great vehicle, the Hilux surf stop production in 2009 actual
I found onr 2006 V8 with 38k on it for 26k$!😣
Love it!
Thanks!
Just picked up a 08 V8
Those are dang hard to find. Congrats!
Good review
+Bryce Thanks!
@00:11 so you were in the market for a vehicle.
I'm need one brother
U said all the Ts except for Tacoma 😂
By the way, silver v6!
And that for 3400cc petrol engine
loved your car
tyb shah Thanks! Me too!
would you like to sell it in africa
100k on the one you have ( guess what ?? ) Time to pay up for a timeing belt. Should cost you $700-900
Yup! Got it done right before I sold her for $300. Helps to have mechanic friends!
Big Jake ahhhhh! You sold it? Why and what’d you get instead?
@@greenbanana2332 A Honda Accord, because gas mileage 😭😭😭
I love Toyota 4.runner ltd
It cost 42 thousand dollar in my country still😆
Paid 13.3 for an 07 4runner w/ 70,000. SR5 v6 2wd
Nicely done!
Paid 6500 for an 05 sr5 v8 with 190k
Help me have one bro
Did you have kids yet?
why are you keeping the price a secret? beta
You don't have kids, I will never have kids. That's really a terrible thing to say about yourself. As for your SUV, Its really cool. I hope to own a 2008 4Runner someday.
It could also be because he is infertile.
I used to think it was a terrible thing to say but I have come around to respect people who know themselves well enough to make that decision. It would be horrible if he were to bring children into this world who he might not do a good job at raising.
Dam ... I cant believe I turned this vehicle down lol 😂😌 i think i am going back tomorrow ... Someone just wanted to sell me one for $8500 (2007) i said no thank you lol its ugly and old 😂😂😂
I don't like dark color vehicles.
