Love the color of your 4runner. I just bought one for my daughter's 18th bday. A 2005 silver limited 4WD with 193K miles for $11K. Love it drives like new. SoCal car and it will keep her safe on the road. My wife drives a 2001 limited Sequoia with 223K miles and drives like new. Mine is a silver 2010 highlander with 156K miles. Love the Toyotas they are bulletproof cars.
My first car was also a body-on-frame SUV (a 96 Chevy blazer) I’m looking at these 4runners to recreate the driving feeling after years in awd wagons and Fwd hatchbacks
I had a Toyota 4Runner also same year it was one of the best four-wheel drive I have ever used or owned FSU vs can go through pretty much anything you put them through
I have this exact car ( except I have the V8) right down to the colour. I would never get rid of it, winter in Alberta Canada, this is the perfect vehicle. Only issue is rust on the under structure. New alternator, and battery replace every 7 years. Absolutely solid .,
I have the same exact color 06’ SR5. I literally laughed out loud at the AC control comment “takes me a minute to figure out what I want” but yea, the biggest difference I saw between the SR5 and limited here was the leather, heated seats, and passenger AC control. Everything else is the same which just shows whichever model you go with, these things bullet proof and little tanks on wheels.

I bought my ‘’06 SR5 4x4 back in 2016 as an ‘in between’ until I got a newer Tundra. After about 6 months I decided I’d drive it until it died and then get another 4Runner. Great vehicle!!
I had the same lights go out in the screen below the radio, the bulbs are less than 20$ and all you need to replace them is a flathead screwdriver, its a super super easy fix. it probaly took me less than 15 minutes
I have about the same mileage on my urban runner package 4x4. Yours looks a bit better cared for though. Also you can still connect the steering wheel controls but you have to buy an added adapter. Also on none jbl versions the rear pillar speakers are mirrors to help you when parking or reversing, like old school van blind spot mirrors. Also all 4runners of these years have the hood struts. Was also interesting is brakes. You could get larger front calipers as options on limiteds (also rear air bags), sports had the larger brakes standard, sr5s had smaller ones. But on all you can upgrade to the larger calipers and even better upgrade to 5th Feb calipers that are less prone to seizing and also just a bit larger, which is what I did. Also suspension is so similar to Tacomas and 5th Gen 4runners, you can easily swap it in.
Agree. We have an 03 V8 Limited and an 09 V6 Limited and the first thing to go on both was those stupid running boards that just make your trousers dirty!
Great looking Runner. This Gen does NOT have a locking diff though. Toyota calls this a locking center diff but it really only locks the transfer case to 50/50 front and rear drive shaft split. Front and rear diffs are open. They used an electronic braking setup to simulate diff lock. I understand these are great on pavement but less so off road.

First thing you want to do to a 4th gen (besides lift and tires) is restore the headlights. 4th gen's always get hazy oxidized headlights and a quick restoration job immediately makes the vehicle look way nicer. Just remember to put some kind of UV coating over them so they stay nice.
...I just replaced both headlight assembly on my 2007 4Runner, tried the Meguire headlight restore and only lasted 6 months. I purchased OEM and 4Runner looks mint with the new headlight assembly.

Hi! I’ve found a 2008 with 120k miles, super base model sr5 4x4 for $9500. Does that seem like a good deal? It’s a v6 and I was originally looking at the v8. Any thoughts on the benefits of the v6?
That seems to be right on the money. If it seems clean and no rust etc then I’d go forward with it, as long as that’s what you are looking for! I think the V6 had really good torque for what it is. Between towing and going through deep snow it’s been fine. Other benefit is the difference between timing belt and timing chain, you shouldn’t really need to replace the timing chain on the V6 from my understanding. I could be wrong so double check that statement. Unless you’re towing or in high elevation where you feel like you need more power get a V8, otherwise I think you’ll be very happy with the V6! Thanks for watching.

Also what kind of change did you make in the suspension? Any special lift kit? It's discreet but high enough to pass obstacles more easily.
Stock rear suspension. Put the stock trd off road front suspension from the 2019 tacoma on the front. Basically leveled the truck out to put the bigger tires on. I dont remember the exact size, was one or two sizes bigger.
Honestly, no. The JBL was pretty underwhelming and the rear sub from factory is weak. I’d recommend your own 10-12in sub and replacing the speakers with JL audio. Sounds much better.
I've got a 3rd gen 4wd Limited, (aka: the chrome bumpers). Original owner with 69,000 miles. HKS Cold Air Intake, TRD Supercharged & Borla Cat-back Exhaust. No winter's ever, and maybe in the rain 10x's over the 23 years I've had it. Awesome vehicle.
"This one comes with a steering wheel, it's probably a limited thing." Only kidding, very nice whip sir. A lot of the things you mentioned are also on my 07 sr5. They may have been optional on mine though as opposed to standard? Also you can replace the bulbs for the clock screen. You'll have to look up the exact part number or just visit the dealer and they will hook you up for about $10
Bill Timmer did I say that? 😂 wouldn’t be surprised as most of my videos are quick one takes and all opinion based. Not sure how they were optioned back in the day but wanted to show off the limited as I didn’t find a lot of detailed videos back when I was about to buy this one. Thanks for the info on the bulbs. I need to spend some time cleaning up or replacing the front headlights and a few of the interior bulbs. Including the clock display. Thanks again!
@@spencersteele7 haha I'm just kidding about the steering wheel. Some of the things like the spoiler and projector lights are on my sr5 but like I said they may have been add ons and not standard?
Same in NC too sadly. What pisses me off that they are asking that much for a 4Runner which is over 250K miles. I wouldn’t mind paying that much for one if it has less than 150K miles on it.
@@abbasrangwala27 just looks and the V8 option I guess. 5th gens are basically the same thing internally but my opinion is 4th gens have the best looking body style. There may be a difference is 4wd setups I'm not sure.
I’m looking to buy a first car and I’ve been looking at this car quite a bit, do you have anything you would warn against or say about it that might be difficult for a first time driver?
Have the FRAME inspected for any rust that may be a problem. It probably won't be if you live in areas where it doesn't snow and you don't get salt. The frames are known to rust and at this moment and my 06 Sport Ed. which is only going on 81,000 miles is having the frame replaced with a frame from down South. They are pretty much bullet proof, but it's according to the owner or owners. If the car fax checks out, mileage wise, etc. and the frames good and the price seems decent, you won't regret it.
It didnt hit as hard as I wanted, it was also small. I think for most people it is okay! I just wanted performance of a 12 in and thats not what it was, just my messed up expectations haha.
SR5 is a base model. Sport is in the middle with little more features than SR5 like X-REAS suspension, 17 to 18inch wheels, moon roof, and running boards, but limited is a fully loaded trim with all the bells and whistles. Like if you compare it to Camry trims: Camry L is just a base model, Camry SE is in the middle with little more features than L but XLE OR XSE is a fully loaded trim with all luxury features in it.

Hi, could u pls tell me what setup you use in the suspension??? Tks…
How much you paid for that, I’m on the market to buy one, but most of the sellers wants 11 to 15k here in Washington state
Same in NC too sadly. What pisses me off that they are asking that much for a 4Runner which is over 250K miles. I wouldn’t mind paying that much for one if it has less than 150K miles on it.
Just bought one 2007 limited V8
Dig it. I've got an 06. 4th gen is best.
Any particular reason?
@@abbasrangwala27 just looks and the V8 option I guess. 5th gens are basically the same thing internally but my opinion is 4th gens have the best looking body style. There may be a difference is 4wd setups I'm not sure.
What size BFG KO2 tires are these?
265/70/20 or 265/75/20?
How much you paid? Awesome car!
How much did you buy yours for? And how many miles when u bought it
What's the lift/tire size?
Do the bigger wheels mess with the power and the gears ?
What is your suspension set up and tires. Do they rub?
Which one is better? Sport or limited?
Good morning, pls am chatting from Nigeria, pls how can I possibly get this edition on import to my country?
Timing chain is more expensive to fix rather than belt
Just wondering about your tire size and lift
Ur sub isn’t very strong? I have the same model the bass is crazy
It didnt hit as hard as I wanted, it was also small. I think for most people it is okay! I just wanted performance of a 12 in and thats not what it was, just my messed up expectations haha.
@@spencersteele7 Yeah I guess so. Mines weird it’s only very strong through a direct aux connection it gets so much louder
is the limited version the maxed out version of 4 gen 4 runner???
Yes!
What tire size and was there much rubbing? I love the look, very tasteful
Waw it’s beautiful
What are the differences from the sr5, the sport, and the Limited.
SR5 is a base model. Sport is in the middle with little more features than SR5 like X-REAS suspension, 17 to 18inch wheels, moon roof, and running boards, but limited is a fully loaded trim with all the bells and whistles. Like if you compare it to Camry trims: Camry L is just a base model, Camry SE is in the middle with little more features than L but XLE OR XSE is a fully loaded trim with all luxury features in it.
muy bonita. Cuanto te costo ?
Am I crazy for buying one with 250k miles looks good otherwise????!!!
it looks so nicely leveled, what's the suspension set up?
2in bilstein lift from a Tacoma with bigger tired
Clean
How is the sound system
Lol, Toyota's don't get broken in until 180K miles.
