My system does the same thing. It turns on for about 3secs and turns off. Xbox charges $299 to fix any issue. Which is insane because its the same price of the series S. I also would have to wait 2-4wks maybe more for them to fix it.
Bro, your repairs are amazing but you need to be a little more detailed. Like you never show us how you diagnosed the issue. Some motherboards look perfectly fine even if they have a power rail issue or whatever. You don't show us yourself using a volt meter which I suppose is necessary to see where it is shorting.
Soo what I get from this is that I need a new one or get it repaired. I literally just got my xbox a day ago. Now when I turn it on, it sits there for about 1 or 2 seconds then turns off again.
My son’s Xbox just died. It won’t turn on … nothing lights up. I disassembled it and the power supply has 12V across the 2 pin jumper and from Grey/Black on the larger connector. I’m not sure what else to check next … do I try to find this IC or is there something else you’d check next?
Mine will not even turn on at all. I've checked the PSU which has 12V on both connectors. From the 2 pin PSU + to the Copper edge ring around the board I get continuity only for a second and then it disappears. I'm not sure if this means it's shorted or not so I tested it for power and have 12V+ ... any suggestions on next steps?
Mine is also doing the same thing, i get too the home screen. Start up halo and then it shuts off. It Doesn't even wanna start up again, even after i unplug it from the wall 😢
In canada and have had the exact same issue. They checked all the spots from your last video, but they seem fine. You'd be really doing me a solid, if you could post the IC code from the Xbox One X so I can try source one online..
Lol right? He doesn't troubleshoot at all. Never does. He gets this info elsewhere then just edits his videos showing the fix because he can't troubleshoot. Never seen a multimeter in this guy's hands once in a video.
Eh. tried this at my repair shop and still doesn't work, swapped power supply and nothing. It powers on for a sec and powers off on its own, worked before hdmi replacement.
My nephews xbox series x had the same issue . Turned on and then straight off again . Replaced this chip and whoopee it turned on and stayed on with fan spin . Thought great , put it all back together and hooked it up to the tv and agghhhh no display . Cant believe it . Thought i had it fixed
Good day I have a question My Xbox series x was connected yo the outlet while being off and all the sudded it Made a heavy weird noise like when a fan is turned on and you try to stop it, it won't turn on , please help
I have the same issue on my series x. I have a ps4 donor board with chips that look identical, do you think that would work? or would it need to be an xbox one?
mine is doing the same thing a storm fucked it up. along with my ps5 and lg c1 tv. doing all warranty claims and telling them they just stopped working.
Normal surge strips don't seem to work with the Series X and PS5. To protect your investment on these high end gaming consoles, I recommend getting something like a battery back power surge strip combo unit from amazon or wherever. You can get a cheap one for around 60 bucks. My buddy and I are trying to repair a series X that suffered a power surge during a storm. Even with a decent surge strip, the storm blew out the BGA chip on the series X's motherboard. It looks like a simple enough repair but now we're looking for a replacement BGA chip that will work with the Series X. We've been told that you can only get one from another series X (I hope that this is not true).
Question for Go Gamers: The Chip that is shown 2:41 here is called the BGA chip (I think). I heard that power surges sometimes will blow out that chip. I have an Xbox series X that suffered a power surge, it powers on but shows no display. I was told that the BGA chip is the problem but they are not available to buy individually and that I'd need to get one off a donor board. My question is: Do I have to get that BGA chip from another Xbox series X board or can I take one from and older xbox or another gaming console? Thanks for your time.
are u on about the retimer ic chip then no it has to be the correct 1 and if your xbox turns on with no picture it might be the esd faulty and u have to bypass it as u cant get them
@@royberridge1246 Hello. Another repairer called what I'm looking for the ESD Diode Pack NFD Chip. The repairer also stated that the chip can also be found on the Xbox one X as well. We were able to pickup a Xbox one X donor board via ebay but struck out when we found that the chip had already been removed. Do we loose anything performance wise if we use the bypass method? Can the Series X still display in 4k without the chip?
Why would the customer not send it in under warranty if it was bought recently and only used a week?
Bought in the finest of neighbourhoods off course.

What troubleshooting led you to this transistor to replace it?
I'm asking my self that?
I'd also like to know this
CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE US A BRIEF explanation of the diagnosis????????????????????? I have a Series X with the same problem
How much did you charge to fix that specific repair?

Yeah. Way too vague to go desoldering IC's without any explanation.
For those of us who don't have piles of dead xbox boards laying around to pull spares from...what is the part number of that regulator IC?

I’ve had my Series X for a few months and now it won’t stay on. Thanks for the info. Looks like I have a hardware issue.

What does that chip controls????
I just bought a series x, brought it home and while I was setting it up it turned off. Hasn’t turned back on and I’ve tried everything smh

Congratulations great work, didn't know XSX had already some hardware revisions, as you said on the X Clamp
What does fixing this usually cost
Might be covered under warranty depending where you are
Just broke mine down because of randomly not turning on. No V coming out of the 2 or 10 pin. I'm taking it my power supply is fried?
awesome repair but no troubleshooting or diagnosing?
