I really hope this gets it's well deserved release. I'm a lifelong fan of Star Trek and this looks amazing! I was involved with a VFX refit of "The Doomsday Machine" 20 years ago, with an outfit known as Digital Stream. The outpouring of love from the fans was humbling. Paramount was originally on board with it, but management changed, and they tried to keep us from showing it. We were lucky enough to screen it in it's entirety at a Creation Con in a conventional hall, filled with excited fans. The reaction was magic, and everyone had a great time. Ultimately, we were shut down, but for years, fans expressed their gratitude and support. I hope Axanar gets it's big debut, and the fans have their faith rewarded. Live Long and Prosper, Axanar!

He knows that. He just doesn't care. He got a "golden ticket" in established franchise with secured contract. That was all the point for JarJar Abrams and co. Get hands in established franchise, milk it dry with minimum effort. Inflate bills for franchise owners to pay and bro out. From their perspective, what they've done was a success. They've earned a lot of money for medicore product. They don't care if their shows will get any audience, earn any money, create fandom for years. Only quaterly gains. They are like Ferengi.

This is why CBS is so terrified, because this crew managed to do with a minimal budget compared to the network with their megabucks and do a HIGH QUALITY Star Trek film that completely BLOWS AWAY what they had in writers, sets and content!!! The reason CBS is so ticked off is because they were flat out shown up by people who cared about Trek canon, adventure, and awesome storyline that outshines what their network did with a huge budget and NO TALENT to put a Star Trek show together! This is a project that should be included in Star Trek canon and have conventions over! Bottom line, they are making all of us anxiously waiting to see this! I would pay to see this either streaming or on the big screen, where this would do quite well! Keep up the AWESOME WORK! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!

It goes beyond this. Star Trek is part of universal culture and as such becomes human heritage. There is abuse of intellectual property. If you can't raise a good crop on prime land then leave the place to a better farmer. What if all of Beethoven's works were owned by a single IP holder and all performances had to be OKed by lawyers? Most would say Beethoven is part of universal culture and cannot be owned in such manner. Star Trek universe may have reached similar universality.
