I am not a Millionaire you know
Vintage bathrooms .. lol
Is it lockdown in Germany how you are flying
Isn’t that a scam? It’s come out as really sketchy now
Masterworks has been exposed as a scam. Might want to avoid being their spokesperson
Wow, that is a true business class apocalypse. I did not expect it could get worse than usual Lufthansa business - but they really seem to take the race to the bottom and beyond seriously. You are very polite in your wording.

My first flight on a 747 was to Tokyo in 1977. Had to stop in Anchorage to refuel from Seattle. 12yeArs later Seattle to Tokyo nonstop on a 747 . Even san Fran to Hong Kong
I've only flown on a 747 once (roundtrip) and that was from New York to Los Angeles years ago on American Airlines. I can still remember how excited I was. My first flight ever was on a 727.
So nice to see someone return the 747-400 back into service. Good on you Lufthansa!
Hey Dan, just finished watching your British Airways experience and must say it was thrilling for me. It's not necessarily the experience or good/bad environment inside the craft. What I loved the most was your personal experience in verbal report. I related really well with your type of presentation! I've watched alot of travel sites, etc., but I like you the best. Thanks so much! Such insightful and informative report.
I'm going to learn more now from your postings to educate myself for future travels hubby and I have in the works.
Love that 747! Nice work my friend!
I sat in 1a in my early teens. Still remember it 25 years later. Got to spend 10mins with the flight crew in the cockpit too! Incredible to look forward isnt it!
Flew D-ABVO a few years ago from Frankfurt to Vancouver BC. I paid a little extra to get a chance to fly on a 747-400 (instead of a KLM A330 flight) before it was too late as these planes are getting old and replaced. Then the pandemic came and I was so happy I took the opportunity to fly a 747-400 and also a A340-300 in the same trip package. I checked the flightradar and noticed that the 747-400 was back in action with Lufthansa, and that was truly a happy surprise to say the least.
On FR 24, I noticed 7 747-430s these last weeks :
D-ABVU, D-ABVW, D-ABVX, D-ABTL, D-ABVY, D-ABVM and D-ABTK. It's too late for D-ABVR that was sent to the desert on a last flight with no return to LAX at the end of last year :( (scrapped)
Great vlog! I enjoy your honest review on all airlines👍👍 Happy flying Dan
Wow. I had no clue Lufthansa would bring back their B747-400s! The only 747 I have been on was one of those (D-ABVS; I think Lufthansa got rid of that one for good). I am glad Lufthansa is keeping them a bit longer.
Hello
Excellently presented!….I have known several 747-400 pilots who consider these old birds there favorite aircraft…they have also candidly stated that it is very comforting to have 4 big engines on board when at 36,000 feet over the ocean.
Loved the video!
Nice flight report, Dan.
And in no time, you uploaded...... Btw i clicked on your video from notifications.... As soon as i saw 'Nonstop Dan' uploaded... 😁
I really appreciate that!🙌
Awesome Dan! It’s a relief that they’re back, even for a few months!
So so happy they're back!
@@NonstopDan I had experience the 747 400 23 years ago
@@NonstopDan I flew out of ewr
This was a cool layout. Usually there would be a first class up front but like you explained in the video there was none for this flight. The 747 is still a cool aircraft and the Airline Lufthansa is still one of my favorites. Great video Dan!😁🛫
I flew with LH in October 2020, Dulles to Frankfurt. The food and service were absolutely outstanding! I guess it varies from route to route but I had 0 complaints.
I am fortunate enough to have flown row 1 on a KLM 747 a few years ago. It was a surreal experience.
I flew in one of those KLM 747-406 M once, in 2013.
I must confess that I really like your candid and truthful reviews.
That view taking off is awesome! So cool you can see forward
Oh my, I absolutely love Lufthansa. They are one of my favorite European carriers. Although, you seat did seem less appealing than the other deck that you showed us in the end. Thank you for all of the great details. It’s been a while since I’ve flown.
Nice review Dan. I was lucky enough to fly in the "bubble" on a 747 with Virgin Atlantic from MAN to ATL back in September 2019.
Wow, your camera work is awesome! Makes the Queen look almost better than in reality. Want to fly on it again so much ^^
Hey Dan amazing video!
I love the Air Force One cameo at 6:07
The view is absolutely captivating! Wish I could fly 1a…
6:36 I remember seeing that same view from a delta 767-400 (also a very rare aircraft)
Thank you for this great news. Fly safe!
Awesome job dan
Thanks 👍 again Dan for the update I miss Lufthansa
Wow I didn’t expect Lufthansa business class to be so bad for you. When I flew on Lufthansa business class on a beautiful 747-400 to Orlando, the meals were very good and the flight attendants were friendly. The seats were clean and overall that flight was a really good experience. I guess it all comes down to what flight attendants you get, the friendly and professional ones, and the “lazy” ones which dont clean the seats after each flight and aren’t friendly. Nice video!
Airport cleaning staff clean the aircraft in this case
I’ll be flying on Lufthansa’s 747-8 AND 747-400 today and tomorrow for my trip to Dubai!
Nice mate, Economy or Buissness
Lucky you! Enjoy!!
Flew on KLM's 747 from Houston to Amsterdam in row 1, lower deck. Great experience. Row 1 had a 1-2 seat configuration, giving you more space than the 2-2 Lufthansa configuration.
I used to annually fly that route in Economy and vice versa
Good video Dan....upstairs on a 747-400 is the best....very quiet....always darker ...its the best place ...nice to see the old girl back in town
great flight i enjoyed it very much
My last two flights before lockdown (one day before Canada closed its borders specifically) were on 747-800 and 747-400, LH from Johannesburg to Vancouver via Frankfurt.
Nice catch with El Al’s retro 787 on the take off run
Best vlogs
I have flown a lot to Stockholm (from Munich) in the last few months. Always in Lufthansa Business and have to admit that the service was great, even though it's only a two hour flight. And the food looked much better than the, let's call it food, what you got served. I think that depending on the airline you can expect a certain level and then the service fluctuates around that. Sometimes you are too lucky, sometimes you are too unlucky.
The beautiful B747-430 ♥️
YES! When I finally get to Europe, I wanna be on one of these. Gotta fly one before they're gone!!
Lufthansa nice airline. Great review Dan you the man
Wohoooo! B747 is back!
Looking very nice flying in the 747 in general!!!☺☺✈✈✈
I be flying with then next week from Chicago I m happy so happy can’t wait she back
Best jet ever! Gorgeous! All it needed was to be cleaned.
dan just subbed, go on. man woohoo thanks !!
Thanks a lot son. I am so happy for this return 747-400. Jumbo is incredible
Love Lufthansa even in preferred economy seats. Premium economy has decent seat space, would take that over business!
Hi Dan! Great video! What do you use to film voiceovers?
MAGNIFICENT machine!
Keep these "girls", going!
Thank You!
My Partner and I were married in London and came back to DFW on BA's 747-400, First class was amazing and I had seat 1A. I enjoyed your video
Beautiful bird
bra video !
I have fond memories from 20 years ago of flying business class on Thai airlines in the upper deck of their 747s. These seats certainly looked much more comfortable that what I was sitting in back then. It looks like they might have more length than the business class coffins that I don't fit in on American, which would be nice.
Nice view 😍😎
747 wow 😍
I was flight with them tons of times, always great time
That takeoff shot was worth of the entire video!
Agree, although I wish you had continued it to hear the nose wheel coming up and hitting the break plate right under the cabin. A unique experience in the 747
I loved this so much I booked it for next week with LifeMiles, I really miss the 747! 😭🤣 No seats left in row one so I’ll probably fly in the upper deck.
I used the Lufthansa's business class, Narita(Japan) ⇔ via Frankfurt ⇔ Buenos Aires (Argentina) with B747―800.
It was very comfortable flight for me.
Another great vid!! Thanx so much..Didn't think the food would be this bad in business class, but at least you got to fly on the 744! Haven't tried it yet..This summer i flew Lufthansa's Palma-Frankfurt route on their 748s but in Premium Eco and was so "lucky", they jad started their new buy-on-board concept for economy passengers..Nothing great there but just flying the 748 on 2hr flight was heaven for me..Food-wise, i found Austrian's business class meals much better when i flew VIE-LCA and HER-VIE with their 777-200ERs, also this summer, plus a nice selection of movies and series to watch for a 3hr flight..And speaking of food disappointment, the Singapore business class food on the CPH-FCO flight was nothing more than a sandwich and beverages. But the A359 crew was fantastic and so are their business seats
The best part: the long run before take off!
My favourite aircraft ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Love it and Thank you.
Hope and love to fly again in one of the 747-400 if there is any chance.
Wow!!!!
I can’t fly yet, but I get to plan thanks to Nonstop Dan! 💭 ✈️ 😊
My mom flew on this beauty recently... I was so jealous.
I flown between Dubai and Frankfurt and it was without first class
And I sat at 1A amazing
Woww mantaps 👍 window seat rasa cockpit view
I flew on one of the first 747 flights on TWA in 1969 or so. Talk about a big difference in flying.
Great !! I love the 747 this is great news.
I actually enjoy the outbound flight, so long as you are in business class or first. Get in at 4pm, take something to help you sleep, at wake up at 11pm (5am), easiest way to change to a new time zone.
I was lucky enough to convince my parents to fly British Airways premium economy on the 747 from JFK-HYD via London, and it was 2019, the last year I have flown, and since, BA has gotten rid of their queens. It was probably the best flight I've ever taken, and not just bc I do think BA's premium economy is pretty nice, but the thrill of being in front of the 747's engines on takeoff, argh! So classic, so wonderful. I remember being 4 seeing 747-400s landing at JFK all the time, in all the old 2000s and 90s liveries. I do miss that time, seeing 747s absolutely everywhere was just awesome. Now I need to find my way onto a 747-8.
The unclean seat is a deal breaker.
I was happy to hear that I was upgraded to business on LH401 NYC to Frankfurt (yeah, the 4:00 pm red eye 😢) next week using United Plus Points. That excitement started to wane almost immediately when I saw the seat map, including the 2-3-2 configuration, and realized I’d be on the 747-400 rather than the 747-800. After seeing your review, reading the comments, and coupled with my previous Lufthansa experiences, I’m starting to dread this flight! Maybe a first world problem, but who’d figure, especially given the prices these seats go for, that the experience/service would be so marginal? Well, I’m hoping I’m the exception to what appears to be the rule and this turns out to be a good flight! 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Lufthansa bought their 5 star rating from Skytrax. They are 4 star at best. No direct isle access in business should disqualify them from a 5 star rating right off the bat
So cool!! Totally a check off the good ol bucket list! I have been on many 747’s, but I want to fly on the upper deck on a 747-8i before, as you mentioned, will not around for long…. Just wondering how you find your flight, and how you can determine where the plane wanted will have routes available? I’m guessing you must have an easier way than looking at the airline website! Thanks for the video! Hope to hear from ya!
Dan I think it is honest to say that business class wasn't very good on this flight. But before covid Lufthansa was among the better first and business class service in the sky.
Flying Lufthansa’s 747-400 in Business class in less than 2 days. Excited! First time in a 747, and it’s a -400. Also first time in Business class, I just had to :D
Great video Dan.
What is your theory on the turbulence upstairs or is it more the treatment you get ?
It's almost like the time when you were on the very last KLM MD-11 flight, which if memory serves me well, was from YUL to AMS. The airplane was the event, not the cabin service.
One of my friend made joke of 747 when i was sitting in lower deck of the front zone..…. ‘you can die before the pilots in an crash accident “ …..🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
What a funny joke 😕😑
OSCAR IS SO CUTE !!!! ur a lucky man.....
Nice report, and if all goes as planned, I will be flying their A340-300 in Business from Hong Kong to Frankfurt in January. Any idea on what to check out on their A340?
A really great channel keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to more videos.
I have a question and I have never flown long distances, but I would like to do it e.g. LA, New York, Cape Town or Australia would be my dream destinations, but I can't really imagine sitting on the plane as long as long and that is also the point that makes me refrain from it and somehow produces a blockade in my head. Hence my question, what is it like to fly so long distances? Does it make sense, if you have never flown long distances, then book at least business class? I think that would also make things easier for me.
I was looking at flights from Fresno to Frankfurt for March and April, and I saw that the 747-400 is also scheduled for *LH447* from *Denver* to Frankfurt.
enjoyed watching.... at least they don't go through heathrow... ;-)
How interesting. Lufthansa is my favorite airline, & I've always enjoyed their Business Class. Hopefully, this flight was an outlier.
Nice
Oh….. Wow…. The 747-400 is really back!
Excellent
I so agree!!! I'm excited to see the 747 - 400 is back on the route to Frankfurt!!!! I always sit on the upper deck !!! :-D However, I've only taken it from Virginia/DC to Frankfurt.
I flew on the Lufthansa 747-400 business class recently and was actually mid, so I find this review pretty accurate
Haven't flown it, but photographed it coming into LAX on the IN N OUT lol
it is my favorite plane because of the Iconic hump
her majesty mrs 747
I looked at some of these being parked at former Twente Airforce base for months whenever I drove to my work in Enschede in the Netherlands. They were forbidden to take off for a while because of the airport lacking turn circles.
There are now a few soon to be scrapped Al Italia planes parked at Twente Airport.
I found Lufthansa to be the cheapest in Business Class when I checked almost all the great airlines for the same dates and destination.....
Finnair got the cheapest business to bkk from finland
@@ATrainTravels Yeah maybe. Well, I was taking from IGI to SEA-TAC. I gotta check how good is Finnair cuz never seen its business class.... but Lufthansa just has a great Business class for that price
@@srishantjena4681 their business class layout is in a 2-2-2 layout, the seats are cramped, hardly and storage space and the service depends. Sometimes you have good crew who love their job other times they treat you as an inconvenience.
That's as it should be frankly. Their business class seats are getting pretty tired. Most of LH's competitors have all aisle access pseudo-suites in business class at this point, which offer much more privacy, comfort, and storage. Also, LH cabins are always hot as hell and often lack air vents. Personally, unless LH is like half the price or distance, I'd rather fly with a different airline.
It was a great ride for the 747, but now it’s time for the A380 to shine
The shine on the A380 is already dulled since the entire A380 program has been cancelled. The last A380 has already rolled off the production line and most of the existing planes have already been permanently removed from service. Gorgeous plane, total debacle for Airbus and a historic blunder that will be discussed for decades in the aviation business. There was really never any real competition with the 747 who really reined supreme for over 50 years…
Would be nice if that were so, but A380 is quickly moving into the History Channel… Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised to see the very few 747-8 that the likes of LH and KE have stay in the air longer than the A380…
