Oman Air (Arabic: الطيران العماني) is the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman. Based at Muscat International Airport in Seeb, Muscat, it operates domestic and international passenger services, as well as regional air taxi and charter flights.
About Airbus A330 (from Wikipedia):
The Airbus A330 is a wide-body aircraft developed and produced by Airbus. Airbus conceived several derivatives of the A300, its first airliner in the mid-1970s. Then the company began development on the A330 twinjet in parallel with the A340 quadjet and launched both designs with their first orders in June 1987. The A330-300, the first variant, took its maiden flight in November 1992 and entered service with Air Inter in January 1994. The slightly shorter A330-200 variant followed in 1998.
The A330 shares its airframe with the early A340 variants, having two main landing gear legs instead of three, lower weights, and slightly different lengths. Both airliners have fly-by-wire controls as well as a similar glass cockpit to increase the commonality. The A330 was Airbus's first airliner to offer a choice of three engines: the General Electric CF6, Pratt & Whitney PW4000, or the Rolls-Royce Trent 700. Hey Dan, ex-QR cabin crew here. I must be honest, loved your amusement at the lovenest seat in first class. I think it may be due to the fact that a lot of people book out the entire first class, and the lovenest seat essentially turns the cabin into a private jet-like experience. All the privacy they could ever ask for! Keep up the great work!

That has to be one of the most underwhelming first-class experiences I have ever seen. I would feel robbed if I had paid market value for that. Your travel mate Oskar got the best deal by far. Halfway through your review I wanted to see what his experience was like.

I'm not vegan but watching quite a number of your videos, I gotta say I really enjoy the part of you having an extra ordered different meal and seeing how the airlines manage. I would like to see the range of other meals as well, sure, but I definitely think it says a lot about how much they try and what the quality is. So that's a plus for sure.
I loved your comment regarding feeling uncomfortable in the first class lounge; if you are flying first class you deserve to be in the first class lounge no matter what you’re wearing or your luggage brand. I feel so many people don’t take advantage of all the perks that come with first class travel all because they don’t feel they deserve to be there and it’s sad.

I’m surprised they didn’t let you bring Oskar in with you. Qantas always shows be to bring a guest into the first class lounge when I’m travelling and so do their partners. The only thing they restrict is access to the free massage.

In my experience no one beats the amazing cabin crew of Singapore and their non stop service plus the extraordinary comfy first class suite with the option of combining two suites together.
But I also think that Air France La premiere concierge service and the first class lounge at CDG is definitely incredible.
Hey Dan! I would love to see a video where you go over some of the scariest or worst things that have happened on flights. Thunderstorms/turbulence or other things like that. Just a suggestion!

Great video, as usual! And fun fact about your comment when you enter a first class lounge for the very first time. I remember feeling totally lost in there, and that everybody was literally checking me out (I was 27 back then), from the staff to other fellow first class travellers. Really felt like I didn't belong there. But hey, even though I was young, I was nicely dressed and after a while, I kinda felt comfy among most of the others in there 👍
Thank you for bringing back the memory of the first time I travelled in First on Oman Air. You will find that their new aircraft have a new design. The main memory I have of travelling first from the oldMuscat airport was the fact that First Class passengers were collected and delivered to the aircraft by luxury cars that would pick you up from the ax/ drop you at the front door of the ac. "Lemon Mint" is just sugarcane juice + lemon. You get these in India for a 25 cents (US).

In India, the sugarcane is repeatedly crushed in a vice and additives like lemon, mint, ginger, etc are crushed along with the cane.

Another incredible aviation experience. This is one time when I enjoyed all 24 minutes of a travel video. I think the retro interior is great, including the couch - even if you’re not alone in First Class. Happy to hear the meals were tasty, even if the appearance was less than lux. Truth be told, it might be a while before I fly Omani First but I love Oman and hope to fly Omani soon!
As someone who is just starting to get in to the travel Youtubing grind myself and hacking away at my credit card points, I cannot wait to take some business/first class seats and its this content that makes me inspired! As always thanks for an amazing and useful review Dan! One thing I would greatly appreciate if you could add, as it is a pet peeve of mine: is there enough storage space for a medium ladies hand bag by the seat?! Often, in business class, there isn't!!

I flew their 787 in first prior to covid - AMAZING experience in the lounge. The chef cooked one of everything, as I couldn’t choose. Took a nice nap and showered and brought me to the plane. I was so full, I ended up changing into pyjamas and slept the whole flight!

As someone who took their first solo flight aged six,I have to admit I have never enjoyed anything about the experience. Your excellent videos help enormously to keep one accustomed to the in flight experience. Also as someone who lived as a family in Oman fir nearly 30 years,I have to agree,that there are few people as sweet and friendly as The Omanis. the center row sofa arrangement in the Oman Air A330-300 business class could serve as a relaxing multi-seat . . . featuring a full in-flight bar with a dedicated bar tender . . . kind of like Virgin Atlantic full service business class . . .

in my mind theres 2 ways to approach first/business class. You can either get yourself some nice heeled boots, a pretty suitcase from Harrods and trench coat and strut through the airport playing the part (sounds so fkn fun) OR, id get just as much satisfaction walking around in my pyjamas and slippers in a business/1st class lounge knowing people are watching in horror, probably extremely jealous of my level of comfort 😂😂😂

did you get the transit hotel via priority pass or oman air? i have booked a far out ticket (september) but was advised they aren't doing a paid stay (13h layover, oman air F, spoke to US support line when picking seats)

Oman air is awesome, LOVED their business class
Flew them for the first time this year Doha to Muscat. It was economy but the service and light snack was great, crew was great and that 787 was very clean.
I love flying Oman Air. I flew that first class cabin from Muscat to KL and it was just me and my mum. The staff are so wonderful and I love that lounge

I must admit that I have not flown Oman Air since before the pandemic, but my previous experiences in business class out from and to London were always absolutely fantastic. In fact I used to fly United from Houston to London then Oman air to Muscat because it was an overall better experience than Emirates to Dubai then Muscat..I guess the pandemic really messed things up for them..
I've seen this video months ago and could not wait to visit Oman and that amazing lounge. Finally did it and also got myself a QSuite on the way there, all thanks to your tips and ideas. Thanks, Dan! I'll try and keep following it! Curious if you have noticed you used a song during the video that is played on all Latam Airlines while on boarding and landing procedures =)

Flied business with them. IT WAS AMAZING, it's so underrated ! The food was DELICIOUS and the seat was great too. The aisle access was really appreciated and the crew were lovely too . ITS SO UNDERRATED.
Although, I did fly more than 7 hours so I had their best business class !

I imagine the reason why there are no storage bins for the middle seats is because Oman didn't pay for a custom seat. They went for an off the shelf solution to reduce costs. They designed the cabin around the seat. The seat looks very similar to BA's Club World seat.

I think there might be a more logic reason behind the communal lounge.
It could be that the two extra seats in first make their service standards (which are trough the roof) impossible because of a lack of space for more crew, catering or something else. So they had to fill up space.

One slight change I would love to see is to get rid of those all white transitions between scenes or at the end, its just too bright with a full white screen when you're watching at night even with the lowest brightness on displays haha
