    I own Pizzazz Piercing and Tattoo on N. Main St. here in Gainesville.
    My hubbs and I moved our family down here from Massachusetts in 2019. We love this city. The people here enveloped us, and our tiny shop with so much love!

    Great video. I graduated back in 2003 and moved back home to south Florida. I’ve always loved Gainesville and make a trip back to visit every few years. I’m always blown away to see the changes (Butler town center is very cool!) I really love the Haile area and could see myself moving back eventually. Go Gators!

    1985 OG here. My biggest complaint in recent years is the noticeable increase in traffic congestion. That seems to apply just about anywhere at any given time of day (minus late night to early morning hours). Whether this is due to population increase or development (or both), I don't know. A lot of positive points you touched on are correct. We do have some pretty cool parks and museums. The local restaurants and breweries I've been to are pretty decent. I have good memories here. I just wish the traffic situation would improve.

      Since I work off Tower Road, 62nd is part of my daily commute. Aside from the fact that that road is long overdue for widening and repaving, they would need to develop back behind Cabana Beach to connect to Butler.

      To be honest, I don't think traffic will ever improve as long as there are little or no alternatives to driving such as walking, cycling and public transit. Cities need to invest heavily in transit oriented development so that traffic will improve. And Gainesville being a college town, improving transit will be beneficial for everyone.

    love it here, except I can never find stuff in stores. When I went to the cade museum it was fun! THE TRAFFIC though!

    I will never move back to Gainesville because of the untrustworthy Sheriff department me and my husband was out of state last year for the 4th of July we were gone 2 weeks we left on the 1st and returned home on the 15th 3 days after we came home we had a knock at our door it was 2 Sheriff officer's they asked some questions and we told them it could not be my husband because we were in Holden Louisiana visiting John Snider's studio we showed them our tickets and everything else but it did not help they still took him to jail it took 10 months to get him out and get everything taken care of and we moved April of this year so please do some research on ALL aspect of a city before bagging about it because my husband is 50 years old and has never had any run in with the law before 🥺

      @@LindseyJohnsonRealtor we are doing great where we are but I guess it's because we were living in other places like Tennessee Virginia Michigan I have even lived in Sanford Florida and other cities in Florida so I know it's not just the state of Floridabut I know it would be irrational for me to blame it on the state of Florida

    This is really cool. Thank you very much for all the good info. A lot of positive things. I hope to add value to it by offering our services as a renovation and painting contractor for both residential and commercial properties in Gainesville. A family-owned business that can be trusted to do a great job, in a great time spam, and at a great price. Is that something you could have a use for?

    Do not move here to teach school. We are near the bottom in terms of pay out of all of the counties of Florida. This is Alachua County. One of the excuses they give is that U.F. takes up so much of the taxable property, that the school board cannot pay public school teachers as well as the counties that surround us. Our pay is low, and our property taxes are sky high. Thank you, U.F.

    Does Florida require homeowners to buy home insurance?

    • @LindseyJohnsonRealtor
      @LindseyJohnsonRealtor  Год назад +1

      If you’re buying your home with financing, lenders require home insurance to close. Cash transactions not necessarily though I would HIGHLY recommend chatting with an insurance agent because not having insurance could be a big risk. Would you like me to recommend a couple of trusted insurance agents to you?

      Gainesville has people of ALL ages. The closer you get to campus, the younger the people (generally- there’s tons of people NOT in college who live near UF).
      There are tons of group, communities and events happening. What are your interests? I’d be happy to connect you some things that might be great fit.
