    Great video. This video is for the Taylor Kit. If you have to adjust read the label on the chemical needed.

    I own this kit and the ez touch pool photometer. I use the taylor for Chlorine, PH, Alkalinity. For the Ez photometer. I use that to test for phosphates, CYA, Calcium hardness,.

    Why did you not trust the Taylor Kit when it's reading for CYA was 30-40? I have the same Test Kit. I almost always get a CYA reading of 60. But when I go to stores to Test, the Reading is about 113. I would think that the Taylor test was accurate. What are your thoughts? Thanks. Great Video! One other thing, you never mentioned what you thought Alkalinity & Calcium Hardness should be. I have a Gunite Pool. Thanks again.

    How often do you do this test?

    I have a kit with a powder yellow not a liquid first so I’m confused. Also the water turns pink first with the powder not with the orange/yellow liquid. ?????

      You have a different test kit (better). Read the directions under the lid of the test kit box. Also, read the little booklet lots of information.

    For the first test of chlorine, you use the small comparator rather than the large as it states in the directions. You didn't know how much water was in there, so how could you do accurate math?

    • @Campbell042
      @Campbell042 8 лет назад +1

      It will lower over time. Just don't add any more and in the next couple days it will lower

    Taylor is not accurate imo. Maybe it's the dye they use who knows.

    The CYA was in the proper range and yet the Taylor kit couldn’t detect any?!? That’s worthless

      Yea, that’s why we use electronic test kits now. They were not around when we shot this video.
      Thanks for watching.

      Dave Van Meter
      He found the pool to have 60 PPM of alkalinity; that’s where he left off.
      Now you know you need to raise your alkalinity by approximately 40 PPM to get in your ideal range of 80-100 PPM. Taylor has a chart to tell you how to do that.
